Selar crumenophthalmus
Selar crumenophthalmus (Bloch 1793) —Bigeye scad Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005 by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey, and by Barry C. Russell on 21 and 28 June 2014. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas, in western Pacific Ocean north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Pelagic in clear oceanic water close to islands, 0–170 m depth. Marine.
