Keeping (young) animals healthy is essential for sustainable and welfare-friendly dairy farming. Young calves are susceptible to infections, so it is important to reduce the infection pressure around calves. How? That is what we investigated in this project. The project provided: • Insight into the infection pressure around the young calf, risk factors for infections, and correlations between infection pressure and calf health. • Practical tools for livestock farmers to reduce the infection pressure and keep calves healthy.
