This investigation focusses on psychological resilience within the context of police work. Psychological resilience helps individuals to cope more effectively with perilous, stressful, and potentially traumatic events. The role of narrative construction in this context is explored and various police members are closely monitored over four years. Interviews and observations will be conducted, and through focus groups police members will engage in co-creation. In addition, complementary survey research may be conducted. The newly acquired knowledge will hold scientific relevance and can serve to strengthen the police force and higher police education.
