“ACT AS PROFESSIONALS - Improvement of the youth work practice with young people with fewer opportunities” is an Innovation Strategic partnership in the field of youth project, focused around creating a new, dynamic training module for youth workers, with the idea of enhancing the quality of the use of professional principles in the youth work practice with youth with fewer opportunities. The objectives of the project involve innovating the non-formal education of youth workers, improving competences of youth workers in implementing professional principles in their practice with youth with fewer opportunities and improving the quality of youth work practice with youth with fewer opportunities. The project is set up by the team of professionals from humanistic sciences from Serbia and Denmark with the cooperation of the National association of practitioners of youth work. Through out the project, experts and youth workers from the consortium will meet on the Kick-off meeting (6 total participants), after which they will exchange their experiences and discuss about the youth work practice and professional principles on a short-term joint staff training (12 total participants). The central activity of the project is the creation of a training module, based on applied drama training session as its main learning methodology. The training module will provide the youth workers with learning sessions that cover a variety of important professional principles and situations in which the principles can be implemented and tested in practice during the training. By using applied drama learning methodology youth workers will use an experiential, dynamic and flexible process in enhancing their professional competences. Through the second short-term joint staff training, 12 members of the project team will test the training scenarios in practice and assure that they are applicable and lead to the planned effects. After the finalization of the Intellectual Output, two multiplier events will be realized – a conference in Serbia and Denmark on which the training module will be presented to 100 trainers, youth workers, CSOs and experts and its future use in the education of youth workers will be discussed. After the multiplier events and the implementation of the dissemination strategy, the project team will meet for the purposes of the evaluation of the project. With the realization of the project, the created training module will provide youth workers with a quality space for improvement of their professional competences which will bring to better practice of youth workers with youth with fewer opportunities. With more quality practice we will reach the long-term goal of improving the quality of youth work and will also nurture the trust of other supporting professions towards youth workers. All of this will have its effects on the integration of youth with fewer opportunities and will bring us closer to social inclusion goals in the society.
