The project partners - PL, BG, HU, TR and ES would like to point out the urge of doing sports activities, as most of the young population are spending a lot of time on social media which leads to obesity, lack of social interaction or even suicide.The project aim is to update the meaning of sport as an alternative way of spending free time, making friends, keeping fit, increasing motivation and energy and self-esteem as well as a key element of a healthy lifestyle. The project is designed to raise the awareness of the need for physical activity as a key to wellbeing and dangers connected with it, improve interpersonal and communication skills, enable students to share ideas about their cultures.Students will practice sport together which will help them stimulate imagination, decision-making skills as well as critical thinking and creativity. OBJECTIVESO1. Raising the awareness concerning the importance of practicing sport on a regular basicO2. Promoting safe and reasonable use of sport as a way to improve self-esteem and motivationO3. Enabling students to make an elementary analysis of different kinds of sport taking into account its positive and negative aspects O4. Raising critical thinkingO5. Developing interactive and communication skills and in international environmentsO6. Developing multicultural skills as well as the European awarenessO7. Increasing students’ creativity and imaginationO8. Creating a multinational web of active teenage creators of products connected with the theme from different European countriesO9. Creating a web of responsible teachers who will promote the reasonable use of sport in the teaching processPARTICIPANTS 24 students will be selected at the beginning of the project (aged 12-14) with different backgrounds, at least one third students are disadvantaged.We also want to maintain gender balance). They will work in dedicated teams on the project local activities and some of them will take part in exchanges.Additionally, they will be work in disseminations activities as presenters, organisers or the audience members. In total, there will be 96 learners taking part in exchanges. 40 teachers teaching subjects such as foreign language, PE, social studies, ICT etc. will participate in students’ exchanges.MAIN EVENTSC1– PL– Physical Education in secondary schoolsC2 – BG – Sport as an attractive way of spending free time C3 – TR – The importance of performing sport C4 – HU – Dangers connected with performing some sportsC5 – ES – Sport as an important element of a healthy lifestyleMETHODOLOGYBefore exchanges, students will prepare presentations and some materials connected with the subtopic of each meeting.At the mobilities, students will take participate in the project workshops, they will participate in lectures, and visit some places.They will also work in groups to make final products connected with the topic of each meeting, make posters, prepare exhibitions, conduct debates on burning issues connected with different aspects of sport, perform indoor and outdoor sports etc.During C5 – teachers will create an additional product- a teachers’ guide on how to involve the project-based lessons in the school curriculum. Students will maintain contact even when the project is over through e-twinning, school website and social media. RESULTSThe project results will include the skills, knowledge and attitudes gained by the students and specified in the each exchange description and in accordance with the planned aims, effective cooperation both among students and teachers, developed self-esteem, ability to perform in international environment, ability to express and justify opinions, increased awareness of differences and similarities between the project countries.The project products will include presentations made by students, videos, media articles, posters, materials from workshops created by experts and also by students, surveys applied to students, questionnaires results, the project dissemination platforms, the teachers’ guide to be used during the project-based lessons. Final products will include an e-book, a calendar, a photo-story, and film/films made by students.The teachers’ guide will be used during the project-based classes.IMPACT- The partner schools will use the content of the project to prepare themselves for further projects. - Students will be actively involved in different matters of their local community and they will be able to write articles concerning local problems.- Teachers will be more involved in school activities and they will get motivated to work.- The involved schools will increase their European partnership network.
