Creating OpportunitieS for Migrant InClusion (COSMIC) is a Strategic Partnership lasting 24 months focused on promoting youth volunteering as an instrument to contrast discrimination against migrants and refugees among the youth categories and within the hosting societies at large. The surge in intolerance, stereotyping and discrimination against migrants and refugees represents one of the most glaring realities influencing political and civil society debate, particularly in the European polities most sensibly hit by the massive migrants and refugee flows from Africa and the Middle Eastern region. Eurostat quantifies in 164.300 the number of extra-EU nationals who sought asylum in the EU-28 during the third quarter of 2017.In its Report covering the period between 2015 and 2016, the European Network Against Racism highlighted a concerning upward trend in episodes of racism, discrimination and aggression against migrants, in coincidence with the intensification in the migration crisis and the resulting spike in antimigration political discourse and exclusionary migration policies across the European Union. The Report also identified a statistical increase in direct violence against refugees and asylum seekers in Europe. This pattern of discrimination, stereotyping and attack (physical as well as verbal) is fuelled by and feeds a sliding of public debate over migrants and migration towards a subalternity to the dichotomic categorizations and confrontational positions expressed by populist, extremist and generally farright movements, which increasingly gain access to the mainstream public debate and realm of policies. Young people are particularly vulnerable to racist and discriminatory propaganda and messages, in particular considering their preferential use of Social Media, wherein this type of aggressive and discriminatory speech is ever more circulated. The necessity of setting the conditions for youth awareness about racism and discrimination as well as of the active contrast thereof in the field of youth is stressed by the European Youth Strategy, which sets the objective of supporting the development of cultural awareness and the contrast of prejudice among the youth. COSMIC pursues these objectives by means of selecting and training a cluster of youth volunteers actively committed to contrasting feelings and practices of discrimination among young people as well as promoting the positive values of tolerance and respect of diversity enshrined in European identity and citizenshipCOSMIC activities are:- Research and identification of European good practices in contrasting radicalization and prejudice among young people through Storytelling, Art and Sport.- Selection of a cluster of 10 young people per partner country (5 of local and 5 of migrant origins) to take part in the process of educational empowerment delivered in the project.- Implementation of 3 Blended Youth Mobilities (1 per partner country) wherein partners will develop the knowledge, skills and competences of selected youngsters in employing unconventional instruments of Non Formal Education (Storytelling, Art and Sport) as tools for contrasting phenomena of racism and xenophobia among their fellow young people, as well as spreading positive values of inclusion and tolerance.- Implementing a set of local activities delivered by participating youngsters in each partner country towards an audience of their own peers (locals and migrants). The focus of the activities will be to convey the educational message of the project to youngsters in local realities.- Developing educational resources (Research Reports, Manual and Blog) in multiple languages allowing a wide accessibility and disclosure of project results and thereby producing a direct impact on the audience of youngsters and youth operators in partner countries and in Europe at large.

"<< Background >>""Raise Your Voice"" is a Strategic Partnership supporting innovation in the field of Adult education aimed at exploring the potential of public speaking in response to the changing world in which the majority of relationships and business agreement are done online and not in presence. This, to help young adults in the process of personal and professional development through enhancement of advanced communication and entrepreneurial skills, with a specific focus on public speaking ability. As demonstrated by the COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020 where most world companies had to stop or adapt to remote working, in this new world of communication, the ability to speak effectively will be always more important to over the lack of physical contact and its communicativeness. This will be achieved by producing an innovative methodology regarding the transition of non-formal skills in the adult education field of advanced communication and entrepreneurial expertise, the methodology will be established on the foundation of the Non–Formal Education and competence-based approach to the development and consolidation of freshly accomplished skills. The project complements the focus on public speaking skill with additional attention to entrepreneurial and communicative impairment. Raise Your Voice deploys an intervention on the development and promotion of an innovative methodology on skills-related transition and takes in consideration the young adults’ learning cycle dimension through a systematic assessment that will be based on educational, integrational, and creative factors. As part of the development process, the non-hierarchical nature of the co-creation is adopted entailing a peer-to-peer process of co-operation between a group of creators in the achievement of an innovative methodology that effectively delivers public speaking and entrepreneurial skills to young adults. With a record number of NEETs following the financial and economic crisis, there have been concerns among policymakers that a whole generation of young adults in the EU could remain out of the labour market for years to come. The data available from 2018 shows that NEET rates in the EU- 28 were 16.5 % for people aged 20–34. (Eurostat 2018). In the project partners’ countries, the percentages are Italy 28,9% with the highest in all Europe, Greece 26,8%, Bulgaria 20,6%. Romania 20,6% and Lithuania 12,7%. From a narrowly economic view, these statistics point out an elementary problem which is the rising difficulties for the European young adults in finding a reliable career perspective. The rate of young NEETs was already high before the pandemic, COVID-19 has worsened the situation for young adults and increased young adults unemployment to 17.8% in the EU (Eurostat 12/2020).<< Objectives >>Through the implementation of the project, the partners intend to reach the following objectives:•Enhance advanced communication and entrepreneurial skills to young adult NEETs, with a specific focus on public speaking ability;•Develop young adult educators skills and spread among them new tools and methodologies to develop young adults public skills and make them become more competitive;•Develop young adults work quality and the programmes offered to young learners.<< Implementation >>In order to reach these objectives, the partners will implement the following activities:-1 Research Toolkit which will be including the innovative tools. Supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs is an ongoing challenge for front-line youth workers and they are expected to respond to these persistent problems with little in terms of training support to develop new methodologies to keep pace with the digital and social media habits of youth today. For the youth of today technology is ubiquitous. Over time technology has fused itself with learning, both in education and personal development. Smart phones, tablets and laptops are just some of the devices that are frequently used by a large proportion of the population of Europe, particularly young people. In 2016, 91% of young people in the EU made daily use of the internet. (Euro Stat). The INFOGRAFIA project will develop and pilot a completely new type of entrepreneurship training through the provision of a full suite of innovative interactive inforgraphics addressing the 3 key themes of Into Action, Resources and Ideas & Opportunities which are the pillars of EntreComp. 5 interactive infographics will be developed for each thematic area resulting in a suite of 15 infographics each one focusing on a clear, succinct message. While these infographics will obviously have a direct impact as simple posters or images to display or share through social media, the real innovation of the INFOGRAFIA project is that each of the 15 infographics will contain a QR code which leads directly to a fully interactive version with a range of different learning resources embedded as videos, audios, quizzes, puzzles, digital breakouts, etc. Each of the 12 interactive infographics will comprise a combination of at least 3 or 4 different learning resources that address the specific topic chosen. This will help to ensure that all learning styles can be catered for and that the learning outcomes can be reinforced throughout the learning experience. To support the implementation of these resources the project will also develop an In-service training programme for front-line youth workers to build their skills to develop interactive infographics; an Online interactive portal - INFOGRAFIA MOOC that hosts all the learning materials developed and is accessed through QR code contained on the hard copy infographics developed.By the end of the project:- 15 interactive infographics addressing one of the 15 areas outlined in EntreComp will be developed in 5 partner languages - 30 front-line youth workers will complete the pilot of the in-service training programme- 250 young people will engage with the interactive infographics developed through the online portal provided
