The Second Chance Schools for adults participating in this project have, for several years, been providing learning opportunities to this target group using Project-Based Learning (PBL) and entrepreneurship education. This combination, also known as Entrepreneurship-Based Learning (EBL), has proven to be very effective with this target group so we wanted to develop a whole curriculum of adult lower secondary education (ISCED 2) based on EBL. To do so the first step was to train our teachers. However, there were no training opportunities for teachers on how to develop and implement a whole curriculum of adult lower secondary education based on EBL.In this context, the objective of the project was to develop the first open and multilingual online course on Entrepreneurship-Based Learning (EBL) for teachers of adult lower secondary education (ISCED 2).The online course is divided in 4 units:Unit 1: introduction to Entrepreneurship-Based Learning (EBL) in adult lower secondary education.Unit 2: methods, tools and supporting materials for EBL in adult lower secondary education.Unit 3: model lesson plans for EBL in adult lower secondary education.Unit 4: assessment and recognition of the learning outcomes from EBL in adult lower secondary education using the EU transparency and recognition tools for skills and qualifications.Once the first development of the online course was completed, it was tested by the three second chance schools for adults: 6 teachers and 47 students in total participated in the testing. Based on the testers’ feedback, the project partners implemented additional improvements before the final publication of the online course in August 2020.The online course is hosted in an e-learning platform, accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform is available in five EU languages: English, Spanish, French, Hungarian and Romanian at www.enchance.eu.Beyond the partners, the online course has the potential to be exploited by a wide range of organisations and individuals from the fields of education and training across Europe. Thanks to its publication as an Open Educational Resource under the Creative Commons license “Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)"", anyone is allowed to, not only use it for free, but also to modify it and adapt it to other target groups. Therefore, the online course will serve as the impulse for future innovations and developments in the fields of education and training across Europe. As a result, the project steps a stone towards a fully inclusive European society where every person has access to high quality education. This cross-sectoral and cross-border partnership is an initiative of Fundacion Marcelino Champagnat (Spain) in collaboration with Établissement Public Local d'Enseignement et de Formation Professionnelle Agricole de RETHEL (France), Belvárosi Tanoda Alapítványi Gimnázium (Hungary) and Media Partners (Romania). The EnChance project has been co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union."

Many of our programs and services were suddenly and indefinitely restricted. As a result, third sector organisations have had to reinvent ourselves in order to continue offering a quality service to our target groups. This reinvention has generated new training needs, particularly among management personnel, as they are responsible for the formulation and implementation of the organisation's strategy. This is confirmed by the results of the transnational survey carried out by the project partners as part of the needs assessment for this project, in which 119 people with management positions in third sector organisation from 18 EU countries participated. To the question “In which areas do you currently need more training?”, 68.91% answered “digitalisation” and 65.55% “resilience”. To the question ""Why do you think that the training opportunities available to you do not suit your needs?"", 47.06% answered ""I have not found training opportunities on these topics"" and 44.54% ""They are not adapted to the needs of third sector organisations.""<< Objectives >>The aim of the project is to respond to the identified training needs by creating and disseminating across the EU first e-learning platform, open and multilingual, on digitalisation and resilience for directors and managers of the third sector organisations.<< Implementation >>During the 24-month project, the project partners will: 1) Organise the project kickoff meeting to revise the Work Plan and establish the guidelines for the development of the e-learning content.2) Produce the first version of the e-learning platform and contents in English. 3) Translate the first version of the e-learning platform and contents to 7 languages (Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian). 4) Test the first version of the e-learning platform and contents with directors and managers of third sector organisations from 7 EU countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Romania). 5) Organise a second transnational meeting to evaluate the results from the testing. 6) Improve the e-learning platform and contents based on the results from the testing. 7) Translate and publish the final improved version of the e-learning platform and contents in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian). 8) Organise a third transnational meeting to plan the implementation of the project’s Dissemination Plan and Sustainability Plan.9) Organise 8 multiplier events in all the countries represented in the project in order to present the e-learning platform and contents to potential users and stakeholders. 10) Implement a very ambitious dissemination plan to reach, at least: 4.000 third sector organisations, 60 platform and networks representing third sector organisations, 180 providers of continuing VET for directors and managers of third sector organisations, 100 policymakers in the field of VET, and 180 local, regional and national media across the EU.<< Results >>The main project result will be: The first open and multilingual e-learning platform on digitalisation and resilience for directors and managers of third sector organisations. The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform will be available in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian) and it will contain:1) Online Course for directors and managers of third sector organisations on how to formulate, finance and execute strategies to make their organisations more resilient through the use of ICT. 2) Online Assessment Tool to evaluate the learning outcomes from the online course.3) Online Toolkit (set of tools and supporting materials) to facilitate the formulation and implementation of digital transformation strategies.4) Social Media channels in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian) for directors and managers of third sector organisations to exchange their experiences in the digital transformation of their organisations. 5) Good Practices section for those interested to share their good practices in making their organisations more resilient through the use of ICT."

The rights of persons with disabilities in the EU are also protected by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), accepted by the EU in 2010. Article 11 of the CRPD refers to the safety and protection of persons with disabilities in conflict and emergency situations. To enforce this, it is indispensable that firefighters are trained on how to address the special needs of individuals with disabilities during emergency situations. Unfortunately, nothing further from the truth. Training on how to address the special needs of individuals with disabilities during emergency situations is not included in the firefighters initial training. In this context, in order to respond to the identified training needs of firefighters across the EU, the objective of the project is to develop the first open and multilingual e-learning platform for firefighters on emergency planning and response when involving individuals with disabilities. The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform will be available in 5 languages (English, Danish, Spanish, Finnish and Slovenian) and it will contain four modules:Module 1: Autism Spectrum Disorder.Module 2: Visual and Hearing impairment.Module 3: Physical impairment.Module 4: Mental impairment. Each module will include an online training course for firefighters on emergency planning and response when involving individuals with that type of disability, a tool to assess the learning outcomes from the online training course and produce a certificate for firefighters to add to their Europass documents, and a toolkit (set of tools, procedures, and supporting materials) for effective emergency planning and response. In order to assess how effective is the e-learning platform in improving firefighters’ competences, the e-learning platform will be tested with firefighters and individuals with disabilities from four EU countries. The firefighters will first complete the online training and afterwards, they will put in practice what they have learnt by carrying out some simulations and drills with individuals with disabilities. Using the results from the testing, the partners will define the necessary improvements to ensure that the e-learning platform delivers the target learning outcomes. The project will be implemented by a transnational and transectoral partnership involving organisations from the school sector, VET providers, adult education providers, Higher Education Institutions and four fire and rescue services employing professional firefighters and providing continuous training to them. Beyond the partners, the e-learning platform have the potential to be exploited by a wide range of organisations and individuals because it will be published as an OER (Open Educational Resource) under the Creative Commons license “Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)"". Thus allowing anyone to freely use all the content as well as to modify it and build upon."
