Young generations grow up in a world which is vastly different from the world that existed just a few decades ago. However, educational methods are very slow to change and don’t appropriately reflect the way that young people prefer to learn. For instance, many young people don’t read books for entertainment any more, so learning from a book feels “unnatural” for them. In order to offer great chances of learning that resonate with its target groups the world of education should further explore new approaches and methods of integrating them. The recent Covid-19 pandemic has shown how little youth work is prepared to reach youths when face to face contact is no longer possible. We have the technology to connect and to keep learning but what is missing are good software tools that support youth workers in this endeavor. In this project we intend to develop an innovation by creating an app that lets learners experience an interactive detective story. The idea is that learners work together as a team of detectives and interrogate a number of witnesses or suspects. In the interrogation phase each learner works alone and needs to focus on details that are revealed. Since the learners are in the role of detectives they can also choose which questions to ask. However, they only have a limited time with each witness. In the next step the learners need to combine the information they gathered by communicating with each other. This will train their communication skills but also social aspects, as well as teamwork and other soft skills. In addition to the skill training we will also focus on informal language learning with the aim of creating a solution that is highly effective in its learning results. In recent years serious games have shown an interesting potential to motivate young learners. However, so far very few well-working examples exist that successfully combine high motivation and fun with a solid learning experience. For this reason it is necessary to continue the study of new game approaches that integrate learning content seamlessly into the gameplay. The tool addresses issues that are very essential in youth work and high quality solutions are in demand by all youth workers. We will evaluate the learning success and share the experience publicly, aiming for the tool to become a best practice case which sets standards in youth work and can be used as an example to build a new generation of digital tools that support informal learning. The consortium consists of two organisations (one of them having its main focus on language learning) that are very active in the youth sector, an SME who is an expert in creating mobile apps based on learning concepts and a language school. We believe that our consortium has great possibilities and capacities to make this project have great impact on language learning for youths.

YETI (Youth Environmental Training Initiative) aims to be the first partnership aimed at going all the way in collecting environmental / sustainable energy good practices, developing them into coursework material, make the latter available to teaching institutions and finally testing and delivering the outcome of the coursework developed. Whereas other energy / environmental related courses are fundamentally based on theory, YETI will be able to take REAL WORLD practices, develop teaching material, deliver the aforementioned coursework and re test it in the real world, making one full circle and greatly enhancing the skills and knowledge of the groups being targeted. There is presently a short coming in emphasis on sustainable use of energy, resources and the environment within most educational systems. Especially when it comes to real world applications. As a matter of fact where teaching coursework exists, it fails to successfully stimulate the individual to link the theoretical approach to real life scenarios. With the upcoming Europe 2020 targets, the partners believe that a shift is required from text to deeds. It is crucial to target the young adult market since otherwise many school leavers will never have the opportunity to orient themselves in a Europe (and ultimately a world) where the word sustainable is becoming increasingly common without however the skills and actions to back it up sufficiently.YETI requires a mix of technical experts in the field of environment and energy, with a mix from the academic and the manufacturing scenarios to incorporate the best of both worlds into the final project deliverable. Moreover for the project to be successful institutions that are proficient in pedagogical field need to be on board for further enhancement and delivery of the coursework being developed. Finally YETI takes a totally unique and different approach to any other project in the sense that it goes a step further by recruiting a municipality amongst its partners to ensure the practicality and real world applications of the material being developed. Moreover, the municipality also ensures maximal target reach of youths in their regional area. All partners have been carefully selected in order to fall into one or ideally more of the above categories. The partner selection gives a perfectly balanced mix to the equation in order to achieve an international panel of skilled experts across the required board. Such a strategic choice is also the key behind our confidence and commitment that the project has the right ingredients to be successful on all proposed grounds. The partnership aims to be clearly and logically structured with Partners divided into 3 specific sub groups being: Technical experts, Teaching institutions and Municipalities. Thus the role of the partner is carefully orchestrated from the very beginning and is not a matter of random allocation, but a matter of categorizing available strengths and resources and making use of the latter accordingly. Moreover the project is well structured in Phases (1-4) as follows: Phase 1 - Good Practice gathering exercise Phase 2 - Course work development phasePhase 3 - Practical testing phasePhase 4 - Dissemination phaseThe project aims to deliver various concrete results including ready to use course work targeted to the youth population in Europe. YETI works with youths in piloting the training course and will tailor make the content based on feedback received from all the youths involved in the project. A clear ideology, structured and modular project phases and a balanced partner mix are the winning ingredients that aim to make YETI a recipe for success.

"The New Quality of Work Initiative was launched in 2002 as a joint initiative of the Federal Government, the Länder, social insurance institutions, trade unions, foundations and employers and is supported by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Within the framework of the initiative, practical aids for SMEs are being developed. The INQA company check ""GDA-ORGAcheck - Arbeitsschutz mit Methode"" (GDA-ORGAcheck - Occupational Health and Safety with Method) is a practical aid from the initiative Neue Qualität der Arbeit (New Quality of Work) for self-assessment of the occupational health and safety organisation in SMEs. SMEs are obliged to guarantee the safety of their employees and to maintain health. The GDA-ORGAcheck - is a self-assessment tool for small and medium-sized enterprises to check and improve the quality of their OH&S organisation,- offers companies the opportunity to determine their own position on occupational health and safety,- improves the occupational health and safety organisation,- promotes trouble-free operation and product quality and thus the competitiveness of the company,- helps to avoid costs caused by accidents or malfunctions,- supports the systematic implementation of risk assessment,Within the framework of Erasmus+ projects, the applicant and the European Educational Network send an average of 250 participants (trainees in school or dual education) per year to other European countries. The participants complete internships in companies. Occupational health and safety is an important topic in the planning and implementation of stays. The partner organisations are currently examining the companies abroad for technical suitability and views of the company. During the first discussions, the topics of insurance cover and occupational health and safety are addressed and checked for correctness. The documentation takes place in a questionnaire to the first discussion for the preparation of learning stays. The aim of the project is to translate and adapt the GDA-ORGAcheck so that it can be used for project partners abroad to examine occupational safety in companies in detail and thus ensure the safety of the participants. It should be a working aid for the project partners. In addition, the occupational health and safety regulations in the countries will be compared and an ECVET learning outcomes unit on the subject of occupational health and safety will be designed, which will be involved/tried in ongoing mobility projects of the applicant, among other things. The project involves well-known partners from Malta, Ireland and Germany as well as two new partners from Italy and Sweden. They use their contacts to companies and test the ""new GDA-ORGAcheck""."

The project Sustainability in Vocational Education and Training pursued the goal of integrating the topic in the implementation of stays abroad. The basis was the learning content developed within the framework of the INEBB model project, mainly for trainers and educational staff. The project was originally planned for 2 years and was extended by one year due to the pandemic. The involved partners from Ireland, Malta and France were known to the applicant IZAG from KA1 mobility projects. The partner from Portugal was new to the team. One aim of this project was to consolidate partnerships and attract new partners for learning visits. This goal was achieved. Before the pandemic started, the applicant as well as the second German partner EBV sent 6 trainees of different professions to Portugal. The cooperation went off without a hitch. The Portuguese partner selected job-related traineeships, high-quality accommodation and took over the mentoring of the participants. During the project, the Portuguese partner sent participants to France and Malta, and the French partner sent participants to Portugal and Malta. Another objective was to develop the four units of learning outcomes according to ECVET standards on the topic of sustainability in German and English. This goal was achieved. The original plan was to convert the entire learning content of the model project into the four units of learning outcomes. The first version was too extensive and during the first trial phase with participants in Portugal, Ireland and France it was found that the content could not be taught during the learning visits. The learning units on sustainability are intended to be a supplement to the job-related learning content and objectives of a stay. In 2020, after the extension of the project, the INEBB learning content was presented to three participants who were due to travel to Malta in autumn 2020. These participants focused on the topics: Strategy, Packaging Act, Efficiency and ... ...agreed. The project team adapted the previous ECVET learning outcomes units and the testing was carried out.The third objective was to digitalise the application processes. In the first phase, the application documents, prerequisites and necessary documents required for a successful application for an internship abroad were discussed and compared with all partners. It turned out that the templates of the German partner EBV were well suited to ensure a high-quality placement abroad. These documents were the basis for an online applicant tool. This tool was only financed from EBV's own funds after the end of the project, as the development was not part of the project. www.auslandspraktikum-europa.de
