Simply said, doing crafts, working with hands, sharing tools, methods, and owning their final products helps motivation, communication and mutual understanding. For the most part, crafts can be thought nonverbally (through practice) and, as such, are ideal for outreach campaigns and inter-cultural work even with communities who don’t speak the language. Crafts bring together people from various backgrounds (including marginalised groups) and promote interest in both “old” (local) and “new” (e.g. refugees) tradition, heritage, culture, skills, and design. As such, crafts help preserve the local culture, but also mirror the cultural diversity of peoples in Europe and can be platforms for intercultural exchange. However, positive effects are limited and quite vulnerable. To overcome this, activities should be continuous and explicitly established. They simply don’t occur spontaneously, as researchers Erasmus Universiteit in Rotterdam found in 2018. In other words, there has to be an agent that will facilitate inspiring craft programmes for marginalised groups, after which crafts show positive effects and harbour social inclusion and build “new”, mutual European cultural identity. For this reason, partner’s gathered in CRAFT:IN as they will gain knowledge of new crafts they can then introduce to their marginalised groups and develop new craft educational programmes of higher quality and international appeal. This will enable partners to develop their human resources and network further, their staff members to raise their EU Key Competences (multilingualism, cultural expression, entrepreneurship), and (with time) help heal social divide between the locals and marginalised groups. Each partner will host one independent Learning Teaching and Training (LTT) workshop where each host will, through methods of practical learning and non-formal education, share a craft they are masters of, and incite cultural exchange through practical experience and face-to-face participants’ interaction. Each workshop will end with an exhibition of products made at the workshop and/or public event where participants will promote inclusion, meet the locals, and discuss the role of crafts in developing inclusion at local level. In order to utilise newly gained knowledge and skills the most, partners will send two representatives to each workshop, to learn new skills and crafts. Upon their return, they will organise follow-up presentations (20 in total; 4 per partner) of the new skills and, where possible, start new inclusive programmes in the local community based on their new craft. To make their experiences tangible, partners will publish a Manual on various crafts we shared in effort to promote inclusion. In the background, back equally important, partners will host three Transnational Project Meetings (TPM) where managers will monitor project’s implementation, evaluate its past activities, and plan the future ones; including online campaigns for promotion and dissemination, and coordinating production of informal outputs. In total, 40 educational mobilises, 10-15 participants from marginalised groups, 3 project meetings, 1 online publication on inclusive crafts, 5 workshops and exhibitions/public discussions will be held. These activities will significantly increase partner organisations’ human resources, develop individual key competences, and promote crafts as means of inclusion and non-formal learning. In the long term, partner organisations see this partnership as a ""stepping stone"" - the first of many that will follow and lead to a sustainable and open European platform for inclusive crafts and social entrepreneurship.. Partners are committed to building this platform that will help preserve, develop and promote crafts for social inclusion." Therefore interactive learning materials are a key tool for the learning and development of the student like independent and autonomous learner since modern society needs a young specialist as a creative and innovative thinker, team member. The background of the project was associated with the need to create modern interactive teaching material for first-year students of construction and architectural specialities on bachelor level, to ensure their high-quality training and independent work without prior knowledge of the profession and possession of computer programs, without the use of licensed programs and special equipment. The project used modern technological solutions to create simulations of three-dimensional objects, which are very interesting and easy to use, ensuring the active participation of the student in the process of acquiring new knowledge in a playful way.The main objectives of the project were:- creation of an open educational resource - online interactive teaching materials for first-year students of construction and architectural specialities on bachelor level for independent work,- advanced training of project participants in the field of training, the creation of modern educational materials,- the development of international cooperation between organizations of participants and non-participants of the project was successfully achieved. In the process of joint work on the project, an interesting and very useful experience of cooperation was obtained not only between educational institutions from different countries, but also cooperation with non-governmental organizations that have a huge audience in social networks and experience working with different target groups. The project consortium consisted of organizations from different sectors (NGOs, HEs, government bodies). Specialists in the field of training, modelling and design, programming and advertising were involved in the project. The project partners were Tallinna Tehnikakõrgkool University of Applied Sciences (TTK UAS) Estonia - coordinator of the project, VilniusTech Lithuania, UPSET Croatia, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education Turkey. Within the framework of the project, a homepage and FB of the project were created with constantly updated information, three contact transnational meetings and one LTT event were held, the project partners met online throughout the project, which ensured close interaction, timely implementation of project tasks and successful results. Presentations about the work of the project at various international conferences and the publication of articles about the work of the project in collections of scientific conferences and in online scientific publications, organizing and holding events within the framework of YerD 2019 and 2020, organizing and conducting an online multiplier event contributed to the dissemination of information about the activities and results of the project not only in Europe but also in the world. The results of the project are an open online educational resource - an interactive learning material for first-year students of construction specialities:- simulators of a wooden and stone house with details and materials textures and various functions, - simulators of parts of house structures;- set of drawings of building units with the possibility of using augmented reality (AR) to control the correctness of assignments,- interactive exercises with a branched solution scenario and feedback,- questionnaires and surveys to obtain the necessary feedback and information to improve the training material and to get statistical data for articles,- control tests for maintaining statistics of student progress for self-control and to help the teacher. The project results will be actively used and disseminated primarily by the project partners in their training work with students and other target groups, through social and modern media, the Erasmus + project results platform after the completion of the project to improve the quality of education and disseminate the idea of innovative and interactive learning by example of the project VirTec results.According to students knowledge test results after the e-learning material use, teachers and experts feedbacks, the project's interactive solutions help to better prepare the future engineer related to the needs of the labour marketThe project partners TTK UAS and VilniusTech continue to collaborate on a new Erasmus+ VirSTEM project to create an open educational resource - an online course ""Basic Engineering Graphics"" for the undergraduate level for students of construction specialities, both full-time and distance learners, and to realize new ideas for creating interactive learning material." USK builds on the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 and removes barriers in physical infrastructure; accessibility of information, and creates effective communication tools.Without immediate intervention; people with disabilities will continue to be the most deeply impacted and isolated people in our society. The long-term implications of the pandemic and additional challenges they face in daily life mean that without the opportunities to reengage and connect they will remain largely excluded. The partnership is designed to maximise the impact of “Urban Survival Kits” (USK): an innovative program with staff and the adults with disabilities they support (AWD).USK is an individually centred program delivered through a variety of artistic mediums/techniques and integrated through digital media. USK is introducing innovative ways of thinking and working and developing a range of skills based on the key competencies of lifelong learning.Through intensive hands-on training, the 12 staff will directly experience each element and outcomes of the program. Their experience, reflective learning and expertise will directly inform and refine the workshops delivered to AWD in each partner organisation.A series of online workshops will be delivered to 24 AWD, supported by staff, creating a specifically tailored, inclusive and immersive learning experience. This integrated structure provides a safe way of experimenting, externalising, reframing and ultimately sharing their real-life stories and experiences. Increasing the relevance, level of engagement and long-term impact and opportunities it will create. This method enables us to empower people with disability by developing their Key Competences, share old and develop new methods, and enhance visibility of people with disability who are usually left on margins of the labour market due to prejudice. Disability is a social issue that has been addressed significantly by the EU in the recent years but what is lacking still is the notion among employers that being disabled is not being unable to work. As organizations with years of experience in working with and for disabled people, we find that this prejudice persists because of lack of interaction between the disabled and the ""non-disabled"". During our projects (on local and EU level), we have always found that a goal oriented interaction between ""non-disabled"" and disabled people results in higher levels of mutual understanding, cooperation and even employment and, on the other hand, lower levels of prejudice and subsequent discrimination. The basic method (""Educational theatre as the place for overcoming discrimination of PWD - EDUCATHE) was developed on that principles in 2008 and it has a profound educational and life altering impact on ""non-disabled"", disabled and educators alike. It is an open method that welcomes new input – which is especially important in order to capture the needs of different local communities in the EU. Therefore, this partnership will be used to share methods and enrich them through shared experience of partners, all the while expanding the subject from field of education to the field of employment. Built on a proven method that allows all partners to include their method, this partnership will give a new dimension and produce an added value of European stature for all those involved as we will directly involve learners and educators who are disabled and ""non-disabled"" and indirectly the general public, media and legislators (through our performances) - therefore addressing all ""stakeholders"" of this social issue. In total of 40 days of 8 international educational workshops, participants will undergo 112 mobilities (with 31 of those made by PWD), share/innovate practices and develop 8 theatre public-dissemination performances and raise public awareness of economic discrimination of disabled people - all the while receiving numerous ""soft-skills"" described by the EU Key Competences necessary for raising employment. Performances will be site-specific and held in locations that symbolize connection between the EU and the local country – which will add an additional EU dimension. Our performances will engage the audience and be meeting places where disabled people and the general public can interact and discuss – during and after the performances. Our performances will be recorded and disseminated on our web platform and all those interested in working with disabled and using theatre for educational purposes will be able to freely access online this knowledge and other materials produced by this partnership: E+ Toolbox, E+ educational video, E+ documentary. The outputs of our partnership will be built throughout the duration of the project and will include practices, exercises, experiences, interviews and methodologies that partners have brought into the project as their own contribution (e.g. their style of education theatre). In that way, partners will create a new mix-methodology for working with the disabled, promoting inclusion and employment. Beside our workshops that will produce public performances and reach the public, we will have three staff meetings to ensure quality project management and, equally important, give this partnership an additional, final media conference after 8 dissemination performances held in partner organizations. We are proud that this partnership has been built on values of transparent democracy, equality and solidarity which, we feel, is a mirror for what Europe strives for. By combining those principles with theatre workshops to achieve a goal of overcoming social prejudice and enhancing employability of disabled people (by making their abilities visible and rendering their physical/mental predicament less important in the eye of the employers) is something we want to encourage other organizations to do. We see this partnership as a basis to build a common future network for organizations who address the needs of the disabled and work in education & culture to improve employability of PWD. We use this opportunity to invite all interested organizations and individuals who work with, for, or advocate rights of disabled persons (and other marginalized groups) to contact and join us during the project and afterwards - when we plan to take a third step and spread the results of EDUCATHE + method across Europe and its adult education system."
