It supports them in living and working in the European information society. Having participated in our project, the students’ chances on the European employment market have improved. The partner schools developed their students’ key competences in focusing on the internationalisation of instruction, the improvement of media literacy (ICT), methods of German language learning, oral English skills training and testing , the development of the career training concept and the cooperation with our commercial partners. In doing so the students’ motivation for learning and for international mobility has been increased. Cross-curricular instruction (German, English, ICT, career training) closely connected phases of instruction and practical training.Altogether 12 students and 4 teachers per school participated regularly in the project. The teachers are trained in the field of home page, career training and they have studied German and/or English. (for further information, see choice of partners and competencies in E). The students attended classes in years 7 to 10. Project activities included joint training courses for the teachers (career training, German/English language teaching) as well as short-term exchanges for the students in Koblenz and Bratislava with peer practical trainings for the students with our commercial partners in Koblenz and excursions to commercial partners in Bratislava. Preparation and follow-up of the project activities were dealt with in the weekly lessons by both Erasmus-Teams and were completed during our short-term exchanges in Koblenz/Bratislava. The young people gained experience in communicating in different surroundings and in teaching their fellow students. They improved their learning competences. They experienced systems of school and apprenticeship in Germany and Slovakia. Teachers and students from Bratislava participated in the annual Job Information Day at the Realschule Plus auf der Karthause, in job information events of the Agentur für Arbeit Koblenz as well as in the annual local job fair for young people in Koblenz. They experienced practical trainings and the “Praxistag”. In the face of globalisation, migration and heterogeneous classrooms schools have to improve the qualifications of staff and students. Within the European Union one fifth of under 15-year-olds attain only the most basic level of proficiency in reading and almost 15% of 18 – 24-year-olds leave school prematurely. Nearly a third of the European labour force is low skilled, but according to some estimates, by 2010, 50% of newly created jobs will require highly skilled workers and only 15 % will be for people with basic schooling (2010, Youthpass Guide). Our project’s most important development unfolded during the transnational teachers meeting in Bratislava in June 2016: We had found out that the concepts of DAF/DAZ didn’t meet the German partners’ needs as much as we had hoped for. The teaching material was not especially helpful for teaching refugees and the numbers of refugees arriving had decreased. Therefore, we had to shift our focus from German to English. Visiting our partners’ English lesson in Bratislava, we got to know their newly-installed English Certificate preparation. The English teachers in Koblenz had been working on oral skills teaching and testing formats for a while and found in Bratislava the perfect form for preparing and testing . The students from Koblenz sat a mock exam during their short-term exchange in Bratislava in November 2016. The results of the English mock exam and our students’ feedback affirmed our decision to change one project focus from German to English in order to get the best benefit for our students. In the school year 2017/18 the Realschule Plus Karthause offers a preparation course for the English exam as well as an English drama club for the first time. Both courses aim at improving our students’ oral skills and at developing and testing new teaching methods for English classes at our school. The students from Bratislava are going to participate in annual practical trainings in Koblenz.

Within the project, we want to build on the partnership between the Eden and Cádrova primary schools and use the unique experience that both schools have in these areas. The project aims at cooperation between teachers and pupils from both schools, who will share their experience and practice of the impact of both concepts in the everyday life of the school. In our current situation, we consider both themes to be key to a modern approach to education and training pupils for responsible behavior and environmental management. The project will provide space for teachers and pupils to spread their experience in their own school and to gradually introduce the concept of a partner school. This is the aim of the project and at the end of the project we would like to extend the range of Eco-schools with Eden Primary School and at the same time bring effective use of digital tools for teaching to the Cádrova Primary School. We plan to develop the partnership of both schools after the end of this project in these and other relevant areas. During the project, we plan to implement a total of five educational activities that will strengthen school partnerships and help them implement the concept in their home environment. Pupils will be intensively involved in these activities, and through working together with their peers at partner schools, we also target their personal development.

Education help offer is addressed to children from low financial status, dysfunctional, disadvantaged and insufficient care families. Planned activities are respond to the needs of the school and family community and serve to solve the problem of the education of the poorest children and they are stimulating their socio-cultural activity. The purpose of the cultural workshops conducted within the activities of the community center is to support families in preparing children for independent living, development of proper social attitudes by taking care of them during their free time and organizing educational and preventive activities. Priority in this regard is also influencing the pupils the way that they could deal better with problem solving, improve their social skills and that they will be involved in constructive ways of spending free time. The main goal of the project is cultural and social stimulation of 60 children who attend to school community centers. What is important is developing basic skills in pupils, early care and preparation for the proper functioning in the peer group, local community, family life, homeland, Europe and the world. Through cultural workshops, in other words education through play, we will try to shape the personality of children, develop the skills of creative expression and affect the evolution of intellect. Nowadays cultural education has become one of the most important forms of work with children. Such activities sensitize pupils to the beauty of words, music, give joy, learn culture. Working on the performance, the choreography, the show develops their cognitive abilities, memory exercise, correct pronunciation, enriches general knowledge. Contact with real costumes, musical instruments, props, theater puppets and masks, specialized painting equipment becomes a source of knowledge. Emotional involvement of pupils in the magic of culture - by entering into subsequent role, preparing performances, proper characterization will have influence on the development of the students interests in this field and the discovery and targeting of this passion. Moreover, the project aims to reinforce the professional profile of 16 teachers who are employed in schools participating in this project. Due to the work done in the project , teachers will acquire additional skills in working with recalcitrant children. Their knowledge will be expanded to elements of cultural education. Thanks to work on modern equipment, purchased under the project, innovative workshop programs will be developed to work with children from day-rooms. Exchange of experiences with teachers from partnership schools will also allow to notice the need to change the existing individual routine activities, which from now on will be executed more efficiently as it will be mastered. As it is known, the quality of schools is the sum of the actions of individual teachers. Thanks to higher-quality of teachers work, the development of schools as institutions focused on multi-faceted educational progress of students will be guaranteed. Due to the direct cooperation and exchange of experiences among the teachers during the courses of study, workshops and trainings, the necessary competencies will be enriched and developed. In this case, ‘team teaching’ will become another possibility to create work culture in which teachers acquire the space to develop their personal vision, derive energy and motivation to their own development, and above all for the development of their students.Nowadays, the role of the school community centers is enormous, they fill a gap between the school and parents, who often do not create appropriate living conditions for their children. The reason may be lack of funds or time, which results in the inability to provide the child a meal, help in learning or the best possible emotional development. The functioning of the community centers combines the competence of the school with the responsibilities of parents. It often support creativity and entrepreneurship of their pupils, activating them by organizing extra-curricular activities, and their primary goal is the broad interests of the child. It prepare the youngest for independent life and try to shape them with appropriate social attitudes. Furthermore, it develop children's interest, activating them during free time, learn cooperation, organization of time and give a chance for a better start in the future.
