For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.euassignment_turned_in ProjectPartners:SMART IDEA Igor Razbornik s.p., YOUTHFULLY YOURS SK, Youth Initiative Center, Kedainiu profesinio rengimo centrasSMART IDEA Igor Razbornik s.p.,YOUTHFULLY YOURS SK,Youth Initiative Center,Kedainiu profesinio rengimo centrasFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2020-1-LT02-KA205-006785Funder Contribution: 73,050 EUR"Cross-national aspects of cyberbullying victimization among adolescents across European countries (2018) confirm that cyberbullying is emerging phenomenon among youngsters. The potential harmfulness of cyberbullying is threatening, because it can be more anonymous, more pervasive (reaching victims not only in school, but also at home), has a larger potential audience, and is less visible for adults in the victims’ environment. Statistic show that girls face cyberbullying twice often than boys. Young children, women, and people with a non-traditional sexual orientation are the most common targets for online bullies. The project aims is to empower youth and youth workers, teachers, social workers to fight cyberbullying (especially online body shaming) by using visual storytelling. We have analysed anti-bullying programs and couldn't find visual storytelling examples focused for youth, youth workers, parents. Visual storytelling helping to understand easier text and situation. Storytelling and visuals are two of the most powerful tools content marketers have. Partners were chosen based on partner's experience on the topic and focus on region country groups (Baltic, Visegrad, Benelux, Central Europe) that consortium will be widely spread. The consortium consists of partners from Lithuania, Slovakia, Netherlands, Slovenia. The main objectives of the project are:- to create handbook ""NFE method on how to use visual storytelling for fighting cyberbullying and body shaming""- to raise awareness of the dangers of cyberbullying, body shaming and increase the anti-bullying attitudes among youth, youth workers, teachers, social workers, parents;- to raise awareness of the personal and shared responsibility for the atmosphere between youth and the protection of (online) boundaries;- to develop effective interventions against cyberbullying and body shaming;- to improve self-efficacy and self-defending behaviour among youth and teenagersTarget groups:- youth (13 - 17) - vulnerable group: teenage girls with body dissatisfaction - 8 youth workers, youth leaders, school teachers, social workers working with youth participate in seminar ""How to stop cyberbullying"". - 160 participants in Multiplier EventsIndirect target group: 1000 youth workers, teachers, 1000 parents. This project has to be carried transnationally because participant countries alone will not reach defined project goals. Partner countries together will create a new innovative approach to the topic which are useful for direct and indirect target groups. Project will ensure that the participants gain information and understanding of the dangers of cyberbullying and will share their competences and skills in order to increase the quality of cyberbullying prevention. The innovative idea of the project is to use the power of strategic partnership between youth organisations, school, non-profit initiatives, social enterprise and non-formal education organisations to tackle one of the emerging problems for youth. The innovativeness of the project lies in the combination of the new challenges that we have identified, innovative methods that we are going to use to address these challenges and the innovative intellectual output that we plan to deliver as the result of the project. Using the comic as an empowering and capacity building tool to address cyberbullying problems through visual storytelling. Results and impact- created visual storytelling about cyberbullying and body shaming;- raised awareness of the personal and shared responsibility for the atmosphere in the classroom and the protection of (online) boundaries;- developing effective interventions against cyberbullying and body shaming among peers and classmates;- developing anti-bullying attitudes among youth, youth workers, teachers, social workers and youth organisations;- improved self-efficacy and self-defending behaviour among teenagers and vulnerable teenage girls.Long-term impact:- empowered youth, youth workers, teachers, social workers, youth and youth leaders to use comics and storytelling as a method to fight cyberbullying and body shaming- gaining knowledge about the causes and prevention interventions of cyberbullying and body shaming among youth- developing preventive attitudes and behaviours against cyberbullying and body shaming- increased psychological wellbeing, mental and physical health of youth."
