"The project ""Hand to hand with CLIL"" responds to a growing need of teaching content of the lesson with the incorporation of improving language skills. The partner schools have decided to work together on incorporating CLIL method into teaching Maths, Science, ICT and other subjects (Economics, Mechanics, Building) as they want to show the students that before-mentioned subjects, often believed to be challenging or even difficult to learn, may become an attractive adventure, which can both increase their English fluency and their chances for a better and more rewarding future career. We believe the project is needed due to the importance of mathematical and scientific literacy in todays world of employment, as well as the prime role of English language, which cannot be underestimated in becoming a successful European citizen. Learning together what CLIL method consists of and how it helps in everyday teaching is our main goal as we are able to share experience, use peer-to-peer learning and learn from the partners` good practice. There is a great benefit from the international cooperation for the partner schools because we can see the topic from a number of various perspectives, we can practice newly-aquired activities together, analyse them and give feedback to our partners. We have planned 8 project meetings, including 2 teachers training meetings, which enable the teachers to learn about CLIL method, activities useful at the lesson, ways of motivating students and effective lesson planning. 6 students` meetings, organised in each partner school focus on practising the activities, as well as teaching students social skills such as: group work, problem solving, working to deadline, communication in a foreign language, organisig activities and presentation. The meetings will also be a great chance to experience cultures of partner countries, visit places connected with their history, geography and culture. 24 students aged 15-19 from each school, including those with fewer chances, are going to be directly involved in project meetings. Neverthless, a few times larger groups will take part in the project being engaged into organising the meetings and being a subject of the practice lessons with CLIL. Mainly the teachers of: Maths, ICT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English will be directly involved in the project but there will also be other subject teachers taking part in the project activitites. Apart from learning, teaching and training meetings we are going to practise all the techniques at the lesson, record them and analyse together during video conferences. These lessons will be based on active, student-centered methods with extended use of ICT tools, such as Moodle platform, Quizlet, Hot Potato and many others. We plan to prepare a digital guide to CLIL, which will include plenty of useful materials, tips, lesson plans and online sources. There is also a project blog, which will be regularly written and published on Twin Space on eTwinning platform. Each project meeting will be followed by evaluation and dissemination of the project results. The final conference is going to be held during the last meeting in Poland. The project will be highly beneficial for partner school as implementing CLIL method into our teaching will: make the lessons of Maths and Science subjects more attractive, show the students that combining content learning with a language can improve their attractiveness in further education and employment, ecourage students not to drop learning these subjects too early through showing them how important they are in their future work career. There will also be countless benefits for the teachers and students such as: increased fluency in English, learning tolerance, open-mindedness, self-confidence, international cooperation and a possibility to meet new people and experience new places and cultures. ""Hand to hand with CLIL"" is a project which can improve the quality of teaching in all partner schools, make them more attractive and student-friendly, more modern and open to new experiences, as well as more internationally-twisted."

"The project ""Learn from the past to build a greener future"" has been created as an answer to more and more urgent need of reacting to climate change. It is mainly based on the current situation in energy and its traditional sources in order to find and implement new, ecologically-friendly alternatives. Project partners have noticed that in their countries fossil fuels, especially coal, play an important role in energy system. And it is still difficult to be replaced, either because of economic factors or the social ones. The latter being hard to deal with without unemployment, social uncertainty and anxiety. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to provide its participants with deep knowledge of mining, its history, economic bacground, culture and traditions based on this industry. Thanks to the project activities the students will be able to collect data about mining, energy sources and climate change, present it in a professional way, analyse and compare with others. It will lead to an increase in knowledge, skills and competence. What is more, it will provide the students with the tools enabling them to act in a wider perspective than school or family. Consequently, project participants will be able to become engaged into pro-climate actions, educate their surroundings about the topic of energy and climate change, the possibilities of regeneration of former mines and the surrounding areas into proffitable enterpreneurship, finally protest for the care of climate and environment. Additionally, the project participants will polish their presentation skills, fluency in English, as well as social skills such as: communication, negotiation, teamwork, work to deadlines. Project partners come from 6 countries: Poland, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Turkey. All schools are general education secondary schools. Thus, students aged 15-19 will take part in the project activities together with teachers of English, Geography and Science subjects. The project will be abundant in activities, which are going to be as follows. Short-term students meetings will be organised by each partner country (6 alltogether - 3 per year). Every meeting to be attended by 4-5 students from each partner school accompanied by 2 teachers. The meetings will focus on project work, exchanging information collected in advance, visiting places connected with project topic, such as mines and power plants (also the green ones), as well as discovering culture, traditions, history and geography of the hosting country. Undoubly, the perfect opportunity to explore the culture will be accommodation with hosting families. Another important type of project activity is local ecological actions, lectures and visits to places connected with mining and sources of energy. Local actions will cover education campaigns addressed to local communities promoting knowledge about harmful influence of burning coal on the environment, eco-friendly sources of energy and possibilities of replacing coal with less harmful energy. Moreover, there is a lot of concept work planned in the project such as: collecting data, preparing presentations, recording videos. Local participants of the project will include: other students and teachers in partner schools, parents accommodating students during project meetings, finnaly local organisations supporting the project, such as universities, mines, power plants. The projects includes various results so that it can reach the biggest possible audience. Therefore, a You Tube channel is planned to be opened, which will work as a journal of the project meetings and other activities, it will promote it world-wide through the use of short recordings showing project meetings, local activities and all project work. Additionally, eTwinning will be an important platform of dissemination of the project. TwinSpace of the project will be one of its results as it will include the reports from project activities, all the presentations prepared, photos and meeting diaries. Another project results will be: project magazine, published 4-5 times a year in a form of PDF presenting project work in the described period of time. Finally, the local actions themselves will work as project results as they will be supported by a lot of materials such as leaflets, posters or social media posts, which will be traceable and easy to collect and present afterwards. The project is expected to have a huge and long-lasting impact on partner schools and local communities. Local project actions will influence the way people think about energy, its sources, their drawbacks and benefits, and the methods of replacing them with ""green"" alternatives"". Also, noticeable impact on students and partner schools is anticipated. Therefore, a raise in awarness of ecological problems, changes in behaviours and attitudes towards climate change."
