Educators who master our techniques will be able to reach out to larger and more varied groups of people, as this type of activities work against digital exclusion and can be practiced even by unskilled and inexperienced individuals. We want to create a partnership of institutions that deal with adult education and those who work with audiovisual forms, and in this way establish methods that would answer the educational needs of the future. In the course of the project, we will prepare overview reports of various methods and techniques, design practical guidebooks based on pilot educational activities, and create on line tools with supplementary description for possible uses. There will be fifty direct participants of the project, but we also intend to reach out to educators, coaches, social workers, therapists and learners affiliated with institutions not involved in it in any direct way. The project activities will include workshops on methods and techniques, research & analysis work, followed by handbook publication. We intend to share our results and promote our educational concepts with as many individuals and adult education institutions as possible.

COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY,Stowarzyszenie Pracownia Filmowa CotopaxiFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2016-1-PL01-KA204-026770Funder Contribution: 99,215 EURThe project “Innovative Methods of Adult Education For The Future of Europe” was completed by five partner organisations: Cotopaxi Film Workshop Association from Poland, Centro Italiano Per L'Apprendimento Permanente from Italy, Magenta Consultoría Projects S.L.U from Spain, Superact C.I.C. and Real Time from the United Kingdom. All of these organisations have been dealing with adult education for many years, however they work using different methods, from audio-visual techniques to coaching. The project started in September 2016 and ended in June 2018. Its aim was to exchange good practices and develop solutions for working with adults in the context of migration policy, understood as actions addressed both to migrants and local communities. The goals of the project were as follows:1. Learning and sharing useful tools for adult education with the focus on inclusive education2. Supporting career development of professionals in adult education in order to improve the quality of offered trainings3. Upgrading the international status and image of the partnershipThese goals could have been achieved thanks to the participation of affiliated educators, facilitators, coaches and professionals in four short-term training sessions focusing on specific methods, techniques, forms and regulations for working with groups in the context of migration. The first session, organised in Rome, was concerned with Italian examples of working with migrants, and it also offered insight into legal regulations, migration statistics and European policies. The following sessions focused on specific methods for working with adults: audio-visual techniques in Warsaw, Lego Serious Play and other forms of gamification in Gijon, and storytelling in Reading. Each session was attended by a team of specialists from various European institutions, who discussed the possibilities to implement those methods on the local level and decided to strengthen their cooperation. Although we did not intend to develop any innovative solutions, each of the organisations created their own strategy to include the new methods in their educational offer. We also prepared detailed scenarios (curricula), which can be readily applied by other organisations.Owing to the vast number of dissemination events, activities engaging the target clients, consultations and knowledge-sharing, we became aware of the challenges and worked on possible solutions. What is the most important, however, is that each of the partners started to implement the new methods to upgrade their educational potential and have better understanding of the needs of their clients.

USK builds on the European Disability Strategy 2010-2020 and removes barriers in physical infrastructure; accessibility of information, and creates effective communication tools.Without immediate intervention; people with disabilities will continue to be the most deeply impacted and isolated people in our society. The long-term implications of the pandemic and additional challenges they face in daily life mean that without the opportunities to reengage and connect they will remain largely excluded. The partnership is designed to maximise the impact of “Urban Survival Kits” (USK): an innovative program with staff and the adults with disabilities they support (AWD).USK is an individually centred program delivered through a variety of artistic mediums/techniques and integrated through digital media. USK is introducing innovative ways of thinking and working and developing a range of skills based on the key competencies of lifelong learning.Through intensive hands-on training, the 12 staff will directly experience each element and outcomes of the program. Their experience, reflective learning and expertise will directly inform and refine the workshops delivered to AWD in each partner organisation.A series of online workshops will be delivered to 24 AWD, supported by staff, creating a specifically tailored, inclusive and immersive learning experience. This integrated structure provides a safe way of experimenting, externalising, reframing and ultimately sharing their real-life stories and experiences. Increasing the relevance, level of engagement and long-term impact and opportunities it will create. In particular:-5 Joint Staff Training Events will be carried out in the partner countries, aimed at youth workers of partner organizations, aimed at exchanging good practices on the theme of intercultural dialogue and Digital Media; each meeting will have a specific focus, depending on the host organization, in order to explore different aspects of the project theme;-after each meeting the partner organizations will experiment the methodologies learned by carrying out training and animation activities with young people.Three outputs will also be produced, namely:- a collection of good practices exchanged;- video materials produced by the youngsters within the experimental activities, all concerning the theme of intercultural dialogue and Digital Media (tot. 40 videos and 10 podcasts);- 5 short informative videos concerning the methodologies shared in the practical exchange meetings.IMPACTThe expected impact on youth workers participating in the joint staff training concerns, first and foremost, the increase of knowledge and skills on educational methodologies aimed at young people concerning Digital Media and intercultural dialogue. Also the partner organizations, thanks to the increased competence of their staff, will see their educational competences increased in the education of young people linked to Digital Media and intercultural dialogue. The project intends to produce an impact at local, national and European level on this important issue of Digital Media and young people, not only as a development of critical knowledge, but as a focus on the impact of communication that occurs through these media on phenomena such as increased racism and xenophobia among young people. At the same time we want to underline how the knowledge and the diffusion of adequate methodologies can develop in young people a positive use of Digital Media as tool of knowledge and active participation in society, for the promotion of human rights and intercultural dialogue."

The aim is to understand and tell the present, in order to build together the future of Europe, with a particular focus on sustainable development. The key words that inspired the project are1.ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP, because young people need to feel themselves as protagonists and actively participate in the life of their own community.2.ENVIRONMENT, because the challenges imposed by climate change call for immediate action towards sustainable development3.DIGITALISATION, because as the recent pandemic has shown us, there is a need for a digital shift in education.<< Objectives >>We want young people to be directly involved in social actions of sustainable development, we believe this can be done through the use of narrative techniques of digital storytelling. We also want to support the resilience of young people who are facing a moment of serious crisis and we are convinced that participation in crucial actions for the future of their community and the planet, together with the opportunity to develop their creativity can help in this.<< Implementation >>The activities that will lead to the achievement of the objectives are divided into 4 work packages:MANAGEMENT: to ensure effective management and timely coordination of the actions of the different project partners. The staff will be responsible for, among other things- coordinating the working groups - monitoring financial management - ensuring constant communication between partnersThe heart of the project will be the PRODUCTION OF PROJECT RESULTS, thanks to the joint action of the partners with the working groups. For this purpose, the project foresees a series of activities including - transnational coordination meetings - training of working groups- meetings dedicated to the implementation of specific tasks.A constant process of MONITORING AND EVALUATION will be implemented to constantly check the progress of the project. Finally, it is fundamental for the success of the project to implement a DISSEMINATION and COMMUNICATION plan that can ensure visibility to the products resulting from the activities, promote the narrative practices experimented and become part of the public debate on environmental issues.<< Results >>Through the joint action of the partners will be realized:- a Tool Kit for young operators, concerning educational storytelling activities suitable to involve young people in social actions for the environment. - Video Tutorial for young operators and young users in general on the use of storytelling methodology to support sustainable development. - Motivational videos created with the involvement of young influencers, aimed at bringing young people closer to the issue of sustainable development.- FuturEApp, an application for smartphones and PCs for the creation of narratives on sustainable development in Europe and the World. - a digital platform for narratives in support of sustainable development created by young people. The main learnings from the implementation of the results are: - increased capacity of organisations to involve young people in environmental education actions- increased capacity of organisations to act through the exchange of practices and methodologies- increased knowledge of environmental issues among participants and in their countries and organisations - increased capacity for resilience, understood not only as the ability to adapt, but also as the drive to act for change- improved capacity to creatively use different narrative techniques.
