<< Background >>Partners made a research in their institutions and local communities in March 2021 ( 50 participants in IT, SERBIA, PL and FR) CATI and online survey, and the results showed firstly that all people (adults and seniors, adult educators) want to contribute to the sustainable development and they try to do at least something but the majority reported that they need a concrete knowledge and tools. The majority also did not know about the maning of a footprint but they reported the willingness tomake an impact and they want to exchange the knowledge and experience with partnership countries/localities.Both target groups needs are the same for communities, adult learners and partners’ staff. - they need support in distance and digital learning ( especially after pandemics)i- they want to be aware of their footprint and get the knowledge on how to improve our choices to contribute to better future, - they point out that they want to empowered and engaged in the green approach and SDGs - they need knowledge about good practices in partners’ countries - they want to understand the role of themselves in the transition to sustainable development to create a prosperous future for all- They need to develop a positive, critical, aware and couragous attitude towards the SDGs - they want to promote green solutions through educational partnership- they need a better understanding of the environmental challenges- need to contribute to circular economy Action PlanNeeds of partners organizations - to work and develop within senior education, - to contribute to distance learning, to develop materials for digital learning and make the online learning inclusive - to find a better way of engagement and motivation for seniors- to motivate trainers and teachers in partners’ organizations, -development of training materials and guidelines on how to teach– proffesional development of staff, - strong need to contribute to SDGs - a search for a new meaning of working/teaching – ageing population a must – have new direction for educationDifficulties _ needs of seniors - high motivation to learn and stay active, to be needed, to contribute to something bigger, - no skills and competences to participate in distance and digital learning - the pandemics moved them out of educ. system - seniors, fear of using distance learning - to communicate with adults from EU, from partner institution - to have a common ground with grand children, common area of interests – intergenerational - the future of our planetIn 2018, nearly one fifth (19 %) of the EU population was aged 65 and more. The share of people aged 80 years or more should more than double by 2100 to reach 14.6 % of the whole population. The population of the EU-28 on 1 January 2018 was estimated at 512.4 million. Older persons (aged 65 or over) had a 19.7 % share (an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous year and an increase of 2.6 percentage points compared with 10 years earlier).https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php/Population_structure_and_ageing#Past_and_future_population_ageing_trends_in_the_EUSeniors are well aware that learning can be started in any age. All studies confirm that brain exercise has a positive effect on our health, mind and longevity. People who do not stop learning enjoy better health, later experience the symptoms of cognitive impairment and find it easier for them lives. Poland ranks last in the statistics in terms of educational activity of seniors. (http://www.seniorzy.pl/index.php/felieton/30- ksztacenie-ustawicznepiczesiciolatkow)Adult learners ( seniors) require teaching methods and techniques different from those used with children or adolescents. They use different learning strategies, have different attitudes, goals, preferences and beliefs. In Poland and in France the group of older age people is growing. It is said, that in 2050 30 percent of population will be elder people.<< Objectives >>The world is facing a lot of problems and the Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries and people to promote prosperity whileprotecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. More important than ever, the goals provide a critical framework for COVID-19 recovery. In 2018, nearly one fifth (19 %) of the EU population was aged 65 and more. The share of people aged 80 years or more should more than double by 2100 to reach 14.6 % of the whole population. The population of the EU-28 on 1 January 2018 was estimated at 512.4 million. Older persons (aged 65 or over) had a 19.7 % share (an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous year and an increase of 2.6 percentage points comparedwith 10 years earlier). https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php/Population_structure_and_ageing#Past_and_future_population_ageing_trends_in_the_EU While women have made important inroads into political office across the world, their representation in national parliaments at 23.7 per cent is still far from parity. Energy is the dominant contributor to climate change, accounting for around 60 per cent of total global greenhouse gas emissions. Of the one billion population of persons with disabilities, 80per cent live in developing countries The world’s cities occupy just 3 per cent of the Earth’s land, but account for 60-80 per cent of energy consumption and 75 per cent of carbon emissions. https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/ The goal of the project is to empower adults and seniors from local communities of the partners’ organizations to make a positive impact, to make a positive change in making better future for planet and people by exproration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The project will empower at least 25 adult educators from partners' institutions and about 50 taking part in project workshops and events and about 200 adult learners of partners institutions taking part in direct project activities and many more by partners' adult educators network to reach about 200 adult educators. Participants will learn how manifest these goals in our own lives. The project will raise awareness of sustainability choices and contribute to the achievement of the 17SDGs. The project is based on the approach that the change can start from one person, one activity, everyone has a power to start a positive change. The key for the project is that change start with individuals taking responsibilities, with their courage to do the best they can no matter how insignificant they may feel. Partners will involve local participants who will learn from each others, from experience about best practices in each locality. Project will build strong connections between participants, will reinforce the European cooperation and citizenship. Partners will exchange knowledge, ideas and experience and they will explore the best practices and plant them in their area and developed guidelines, tips and new good practices to implement elsewhere to contribute to sustainability of the project. The project goal is to equip adult and senior educators with tools to design and facilitate digital and distance(remote) learning, to adapt digital competences and build capacity of Yadult educators to implement online teaching and learning by using special methodology, creative technics, inclusive learning, elearning. The project is also a need for participating organizations as it will bring longlasting effects by enabling participating organizations to gain experience in international cooperation and strengthening partners' capacities in building readiness and managing them towards digital education in a creative, sustainable and inclusive manner.<< Implementation >>Working on the project will allow adults and seniors and their educators to better integrate and will give them tools for life and their future professional work. "EllE is resulting from the current global challenges and local young needs. Advances in terms of human development has been uneven and deep challenges remain. Young people are at the frontline of the impacts of unsustainable models due to their marginalisation and higher vulnerability. They need to improve knowledge, skills, competencies and experience on SDGs, to empower themselves and to spread knowledge to the society to build a better world. EllE is based on young: as the main actor of the effective development and their full participation. The ""bottom-up"" approach from local to global, it is able to extend the results and network worldwide. EllE aims to foster participation and cooperation of youth for Sustainable Development in the three peninsulas of South Europe through: youth empowerment, fostering inclusive development and building resilient communities and nations. Objectives are to - Enhance Youth Skills to Help Advance SDGs - Motivate the youngsters to get active and empower them to turn their ideas into real social activities - Build capacity through exchange of ideas, information, experiences and good practices - Construct of EllE Network in a macro-region for young cooperation and joint actions - Raise awareness, promote an active dialogue and strengthen cross-sectorial cooperation among youth & stakeholders allowing for greater synergies across all fields on SDGs - Develop a new holistic (participative, collaborative, inclusive and accessible) youth empowerment model of implementing SDGs and strengthen young people's sense of initiative - Increase and exploit European cooperation in promoting & implementing SDGs through empowered youth. Participants are young people aged 18-24, including youth with fewer opportunities. There will be 900 young people directly involved and through the Platform this number will reach 3000. The project duration will be of 28 months due to the results and time necessary for their implementation. Activities Project management, monitor the progress and achievements of goals, dissemination and exploitation results. Data collection and research of good practice for empowering youth and raising awareness about SDGs. Creation and management of EllE Platform and social networks. Network Enlargement. Organization of online meetings, conferences, peer education events, local workshops, Participation Days, Final Conference, EllE campaign & management of interim, reports. Most of the activities will be carried out by the work online. For the purpose of strengthening cooperation, exchange of experiences and good practices,Transnational Meetings will be organized in: Italy, Portugal, and Greece. The methodological assumptions are - if we improve the skills and competences of young people with enhanced capacities and support then empowered young people take advantage of opportunities for their development and can act effectively as citizens, leaders, innovators and agents of change in their communities and abroad in partnership - if better youth will be engaged to influence decision-making then they will be the agents of change. For this reason, youth empowerment is both a means and an end of EllE. EllE methodology requires: - inclusive and full youth participation and leadership in all phase - an attitudinal, structural and cultural process whereby young people gain the ability, authority and agency to make decisions and implement change in their lives and in societies - Partnership capacities and skills to enable enhanced environment for young empowerment. The main result will be knowledge, experience and good practices about young empowerment on SDGs. Youth will gain: - cognitive, social, relational, ethical, pragmatic, strategic, transversal, healthy and political skills. - empowerment, self-esteem; critical thinking and building attitudes with an understanding of social trends, enhanced employability, improved career prospects. The tangible EllE results: Report of Good Practices on Young Empowerment on SDGs (level: local, national, European and global) Network to foster European young empowerment and cooperation Model EllE: Empower–learn–led–Expand Electronic platform on SDGs with OER material #YOUth4SDGs campaign Final Conference The 17 SDGs have a deep and multidimensional impact on all aspects of society. EllE which puts at the center of youth empowerment on SDGs can produce a long lasting multiplier impact in many dimensions.
