It therefore builds on different formats to process the existing WFRM knowledge and innovations as developed by the IAs to translate them into the FIRELOGUE platform. The FIRELOGUE platform ? together with Communication Booster services such as brokering expertise ? will disseminate the insights and technologies developed by the IAs and integrated by the FIRELOGUE project. In addition to developing dedicated knowledge sharing formats for the exchange between the IAs, FIRELOGUE also aims to (1) deconstruct conflicting (and synergising) aims, interests, mandates, policies and practices existing in WFRM, (2) identify real or perceived injustices linked to these conflicts, (3) provide a space for deliberating on these conflicts and synergies in a just and inclusive way, in order to (4) co-develop integrated strategies to overcome these conflicts. FIRELOGUE builds on an Integrated Systems Thinking approach to bind the IAs together while comprehensively addressing the different components of wildfire risk (hazard, exposure, vulnerability and capabilities ) as well as the diverse natural and socioeconomic drivers of risk. Building on the concept of Just Transition, different notions of justice (distributive, procedural and restorative justice) will form the basis for structuring the discussions within and across the working groups. Collaborative governance will build the conceptual underpinning for designing the dialogue workshops and to eventually co-develop integrated WFRM strategies.

By addressing the challenges posed by varied national response systems, equipment, training, and procedures, DARE targets four main gaps: operational standardization, command structure interoperability, digital tool integration, and citizen engagement. The project seeks to harmonize emergency response across European countries by creating guidelines for both technical and command-level procedures. This involves comparing and mapping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to identify commonalities and improve interoperability. DARE will develop an open-source Dashboard that integrates real-time data from diverse sources, including hazard monitoring systems, local authorities, and citizen inputs. This platform will support situational awareness, enhance communication between command centers and field responders, and provide a public-facing layer for citizen engagement, including tasking volunteers. To achieve these goals, DARE involves numerous European partners, including research institutions, emergency services, NGOs, and universities, collaborating to test harmonized procedures and training modules through workshops and field exercises. The Dashboard will support standardized information exchange, enhancing cross-country deployments and assisting local commanders with up-to-date hazard and resource information. By leveraging artificial intelligence, it will facilitate multilingual communication and engage citizens, enabling real-time volunteer mobilization and feedback loops with communities during crises. Through structured training, interoperability assessments, and cross-country trials, DARE aims to create a resilient emergency response framework. This system will be scalable and adaptable to various types of emergencies.

REHUBS’ goal is to enhance climate resiliency of these areas by developing an integrated framework of adaptation solutions, advanced digital tools, and participatory approaches, tailored to the specific needs of the rural communities. The project will design, implement and validate a Climate Risk Assessment model, an Advanced Early Warning System, Flood and Drought Modelling tools, Smart Irrigation Systems, a Circular Water Recovery Treatment, a Rapid Wildfire Detection System, as well as a Risk Assessment and Adaptation Platform that will recommend a list of cost-effective nature based solutions (NBS). REHUBS will promote knowledge transfer, enhance the adaptation capacity of local authorities, and upskill local actors through an online academy, an AI support chatbot and through fostering stakeholder collaboration through the project’s established Rural Micro Hubs (RMHs). The solutions developed in REHUBS will be implemented and validated across four Demonstration Cases, with replication in three additional Replication Cases, ensuring that they, not only address immediate climate risks, but also build long-term resilience by integrating climate adaptation strategies into local governance frameworks. Additionally, the project will introduce innovative financial instruments to support the sustainable implementation of these solutions, ensuring both their cost-effectiveness and replicability across different European regions. The project's outcomes will contribute significantly to enhancing the adaptive capacity of rural communities, supporting EU climate goals, and ensuring socio-economic and environmental sustainability in regions facing critical climate challenges.
