Ci-RES is a national structural project which aims at building institutional capacities for integrating refugees into higher education. As the number of refugees is increasing every year, Algeria has become in recent years a land of immigration and refuge. In the year 2019, Algerian universities registered more than 5,000 refugee students on average. In order to face this situation of crisis, it has become urgent to take charge of this vulnerable category, which shows a disadvantageous situation due to the absence of clear national regulations in favor of their integration into higher education in Algeria. The project Ci-RES, therefore proposes both regulatory and operational measures for the improvement of university services at the level of the partner universities as well as the at the level of the Ministry in order to ensure support at the educational, psychological, social and professional level. Distance training and face-to-face training are provided to the three target groups of the project, academic and administrative staff as well as refugees, through theoretical courses and other practices on the legal, academic and administrative aspects. Training in the Arabic and French languages will also support the social integration of refugees into university life. Practical workshops are scheduled and will enable the 3 target groups to express their needs and frustrations and to propose concrete solutions through open doors on employment and intercultural dialogue activities. Civil society members, NGOs, journalists and the ministry will be involved in these outreach activities. In the end, concrete measures of integration will be proposed through the creation of an office at the level of the vice-rectorates in charge of the external relations of the universities, a practical guide and an internal regulation will also be dedicated to the integration of the refugees in the university.

As the global community makes the transition from the millennium development goals to sustainable development goals, is turning its attention to the values of Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial information as critical development enablers. Geospatial data have become an essential fuel to boost digital economy and it is more timely than ever to realise that the geospatial industry is on the verge of something special: a data driven world where position is the common factor. EO/ geospatial aims to offer this essential move to create opportunities for the digital economy and this forms the basis for the topic of this proposal. This project concentrates on Region 3 (Arab state countries). Whilst Arab state HEIs have high gross tertiary enrollment rates they lack to create the appropriate value chain of job openings. It is essential to raise awareness among the students and professionals about the significance of EO/geospatial information, encourage gender equity in this direction and update the relevance of curricula programs outcomes to market needs. The vision of ERODITE is to enhance and promote learning, extension, outreach, activities at the partner HEIs through the creation of geospatially-integrated collaboration. The mission is to develop a plan to make the partner HEIs geospatially-integrated universities where EO/geospatial science, thinking, and visualization are broadly applied across disciplines and are supported through readily accessible and high capacity EO material, training and expertise. The objectives are to develop (i) educational network with Arab state HEIs that will introduce strategies for the development of innovative educational approach for effective EO/geospatial pathways and (ii) an open, collaborative learning environment (EO platform) that will allow access to various thematic and training pathways and create new ones adapted to user groups.

The EL@N project is a joint national project proposed in the line with the national priorities established under the Erasmus + projects. The consortium of this project consists of 6 language centers (CEILs) of the Algerian universities Tlemcen, Biskra, Bejaia, Guelma, Ouargla, and Oran. The geographical coverage of the six universities is fairly representative of the Algerian territory. The Program counties are represented by 4 European universities: Sapienza de Rome, Valencienne, Santiago de Compostela and Istanbul University. The general objective of EL@N is to promote the multilingualism and the intercultural dialog through the modernisation of the teaching practices of the CEILs. The introduction of a comprehensive digital environment for language education in the CEILs. It aims at setting up an e-Learning platform that allows the networking of CEILs and both the capitalization and sharing of digital resources required for modern, efficient and interactive language learning. In addition, EL@N aims to build local capacity and the acquisition of multiple skills necessary for the development and management of a digital platform. The EL@N project aims to respond primarily to the needs of the university community, students at all levels (LMD) and faculty members and to cope with the constraints related to learning foreign languages and related problems. EL@N aims to offer adapted and on line training to different target audiences to overcome the problems of distance and time (rural areas, heavy schedule of students and staff ...), and to train learners in accordance with the specific needs of the socio-economic world and the labor market.

"The project ""Creation of Digital Capacities for the Management of Quality Assurance in Algerian Higher Education"" (DIGITAQ) aims to provide quality assurance activities in Algeria with a networked information system based on a national database, capable of meeting all operational and even prospective needs. Indeed, DIGITAQ makes it possible to perpetuate the culture and management through quality assurance in Algerian universities with the help of a digital medium facilitating the collection and processing of data. The project intends to act at different levels (local, national and international), while building on the achievements and achievements of Algerian universities. The aim is to design a federative and collaborative system for managing the information generated by the activities and the quality assurance programme. Thanks to the QA platform, each stakeholder, wherever they are, can access an unprecedented amount of information. The innovative nature of the DIGITAQ project will enable decision-makers and managers of HEIs to have access to indicators grouped together in a dashboard allowing them to monitor and control all their activities. Moreover, the networking of all the Quality Assurance Commissions will contribute to developing collaboration between Algerian universities among themselves but also with European partners. The overall objective of the DIGITAQ project is to perpetuate the culture and management through quality assurance in Algerian universities with the help of a digital medium facilitating the collection and processing of data."

ESAGOV aims at reinforcing the quality approach of governance in Algerian universities, starting from the construction of the university programme. The specific objectives are:- Strenghtening the role of universities in defining their own missions;- Strengthening the strategic skills of university leaders and academic and administrative staff;- Strengthening the evaluation mechanism and the quality approach within the universities. To this end, a first phase of research will be conducted through a comparative survey / benchmarking and a deepening of the external evaluation for the state of the art (WP1). The research will enable Algerian universities to define their action plan in order to elaborate the university programme (WP2). Staff capacity building will be conducted through modular training followed by three local training workshops and field visits in Europe (WP3). Staff capacity building will be completed within their own universities through local-level training of trainers (WP4). The project will then focus on each Algerian institution managing the pilot activities described in the action plans developed and defined in WP2. These pilot activities aims to build the university programme (WP5) and relies on the collaboration of European peers and on the consultation and participating of the different Ministries. In the short-term, this will strenghten the skills of the university staff in terms of governance and quality assurance, while contributing to the development of leadership engagement. In the long term, ESAGOV will increase the awareness of the benefits of governance and its challenges at University and institutional level, on both a national and regional scale.
