In the field of health and the environment, while participatory research is well developed in the United States, it remains less developed in Europe and particularly in France. The aim of the project is to co-construct with civil society a participatory research project on the health impacts associated with multiple environmental exposure to different types of pollution (radiological and chemical, particularly of industrial and agricultural origin) in three environments (air, water and soil), in order to collectively identify innovative preventive actions to reduce the most worrying levels of exposure. The project will pay particular attention to contributing to the empowerment of citizens in the Dunkirk area, working with inhabitants to gather their concerns, their perception of pollution and their sometimes erroneous 'beliefs' about it, helping them to develop their knowledge of multiple exposures (radiological/chemical) and their health/environmental effects, so that they can gain a better understanding of what they are facing, with a view to formulating future research questions together and thinking about the protocol for the future research project targeted post-AAP SAPS R2. Given the dense industrial activity and the presence of local stakeholders (researchers, SPPPI, etc.) with experience in the subject of multiple exposure to different pollutants (radiological and chemical, particularly of industrial and agricultural origin), the Dunkirk conurbation will be the study area.
