"Driven by its mission to create space for dialogue, the NGO Crossing Borders as well as its partner organisations People for Change Foundation (PfC), Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers des Pays-de-la-Loire (CNAM) and Centro Studi ed Iniziative Europeo (CESIE) perceive the lack of awareness of positive impacts of immigration as a significant problem in many local communities in Europe. Therefore, the project “From Expats to Experts: United Civil Society through Inclusion and Empowerment of Young Immigrants” (FETE) aims at combating harmful prejudices and broadening the debate on positive effects of immigration in EU countries with a particular focus on Malta, Denmark, France and Italy. During the project, a labor market inclusion strategy is developed, which is based on research conducted by all involved partners. This strategy will be implemented in San Gwann (Malta), Humlebaek (Denmark), Nantes (France) and Palermo (Italy). The project targets 60 young first generation immigrants between 18-30 years who are mainly from non EU-countries and currently living in the EU. The main goal is to improve their labor market inclusion by providing them with the opportunity to deepen their skills through the participation in workshops and gain work experience through the implementation of an internship (""Seeds""). During the internship each intern carries out a small-scale project that is beneficial for the intern as well as the local community as a whole. In order to strengthen learning results and improve the inclusion of the young immigrants, a mentoring programme (""Mentors and Mentees in Action"") provides assistance to each participant during the whole learning process. Furthermore, the developed online platform ""Inter(n)changes"" provides useful practical information for interns but also space for exchange regarding their success stories or problems. In addition to young immigrants, the project also aims at strengthening capacity building of NGOs, social enterprises and public institutions in order to create space for dialogue about positive impacts of immigration in European societies. All project partners use their network with other NGOs, social enterprises and public institutions in order to provide each intern with the most suitable internship considering each person’s individual level of experience and field of interest. The inclusion of various stakeholders in the project strengthens the capacity of particularly NGOs as mediators and facilitators for creating dialogue between young immigrants and civil society. However, the impact of the project is not limited to directly involved participants and stakeholders. The development, publication and dissemination of the “Inclusion in Action” strategy as well as the mentoring guidelines (“Youth Empowerment through Mentoring: a Guide for Youth Workers”) and the online platform ""Inter(n)changes"" provide useful information for successful inclusion of young immigrants in EU countries for everybody who is active or interested in that particular field. Moreover, two high school workshops in each participating country ensure that the rationale behind the project is disseminated particularly among young people in Europe. The aim of the workshops is to convey young students with the message of how it feels to be excluded from a community and why inclusion is a vital part of an open, fair and dynamic society."

"""Education institutions should be encouraged to become more entrepreneurial in their wider approach, to ensure that they develop and live a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation through their missions, leadership, stakeholder engagement, curricula and learning outcomes."" (European Commission, Entrepreneurship 2020 Action plan). Promoting early entrepreneurial mind-set in education is one of the most important missions in Europe 2020. The entrepreneurial culture must be practiced and experienced through experimental learning and through opening schools to the wider community. The EN.GA.G.E. project fits into changing contexts and it aims at contributing to rethink education, showing that small changes are possible and can make a big impact on the whole educational community. However, to ignite Primary and Secondary students’ ‘entrepreneurial spark’ (Entrepreneurship Education - A Guide for Educators by European Commission 2014), it is crucial to provide teachers with an adequate training aimed at promoting entrepreneurial education (EE) is crucial. In fact, this plays a key role in rethinking approaches to Teaching and choosing the appropriate strategies and methodologies needed to: - strengthen the teaching profession;- maximize students’ potential;- contribute to the experimentation of innovative didactic programmes. The project activities carried out during the project's lifetime had the ambitious and primary goal to contribute significantly to promoting an entrepreneurial culture in schools. The acquisition/development of those competencies needed for turning ideas into action, entails the experimentation of an innovative methodology based on the production, documentation and promotion of entrepreneurial activities in schools. In fact, such promotion involves a deep change in building new forms of collaboration within the local community. EN.GA.G.E. contributes to overcome such big challenge creating and developing an international network focused on EE where different stakeholders across Europe (schools, entrepreneurs, public/private institutions) have a very active role. This is one of the most significant results achieved by the EN.GA.G.E. project. EN.GA.G.E. reached the following beneficiaries:1.Teachers, Staff and students across Europe (inside and outside your partnership)2.Experts and Researchers working in the field of education and training (inside and outside your partnership)3.Entrepreneurs and decision makers 4.Local communities (families, media, organizations) The Effective collaboration allowed all the 8 project partners (each Country is represented by a School and a Technical Partner) the achievement of the project results, in line with the Project Proposal: •Study/research on game-based entrepreneurial learning methodologies across Europe - IO1•Design, realization and test of two EN.GA.G.E. digital games for entrepreneurial education (Primary/Secondary schools) – IO2The functional activities carried out during the project implementation played a fundamental in the achievement of results. Both the Transnational Project Meetings and the 4 teacher training activities (LTTAs) supported the project implementation and contributed to achieve the main goal: the creation of a European network for the promotion of EE.The dissemination and valorisation activities supported he Consortium to reach the stakeholders. The feedback from all the associated partners across Europe have shown an interested towards the EE but also the will to continue working on the topic even after the end of the EU fundingEN.GA.G.E. had a significant impact in terms of: - development of the school staff’s personal and professional competencies - strengthening the school staff’s skills and ability in creating entrepreneurial paths through cross curricular activities and workshops - acquisition/development of the entrepreneurial competencies of the Primary and Secondary students involved in the project - promoting an entrepreneurial culture in schools- fostering an increasing interest in the local community to join the EN.GA.G.E. network - providing schools across Europe with practice-based guidance and digital tools."

The Erasmus+ project Janus+ aims to evaluate, acquire and make recognize a set of 37 transversal competences (or soft skills) in alternation training courses, in three main domains: learning to learn, entrepreneurial and initiative spirit and civic and social skills. Janus+ gives the two following opportunities: to self-assess himself or to do it with his tutor during the alternating training period. At the end of the evaluation, awareness tools (or progress tools, rather than training tools) related to these specific skills will be available to tutors (who can lead group activities) and alternates (for individual or grouped activities). E-portfolio building methodologies, without recommendation of specific tools because of the multiple possibilities of use and evolving practices, will also be available. Thanks to the project, the link between students and tutors in companies got stronger. Indeed, both have been involved in the identification, the evaluation and the development of the non-technical (or transversal) skills. By promoting the use of tools, resources and actions, the project has made soft skills known and recognized. It also allowed to sensitize learners and tutors/mentors/employers, as well as teachers/trainers to the importance of transversal skills. These are now recognized for promoting access to employment or employability in general. As part of the project, assessment tools for 37 soft skills have been created. Thanks to the creation of a website and the development of a self-assessment platform, awareness and progress resources (group activities or individual activities) are now available to users, learners and tutors. Six partners have contributed to the project: five adult continuing education organizations in France, Austria, Spain, Ireland, Romania; and a technical partner, specialist in the field of training in Lithuania.
