To do so, the project partners will produce an e-learning platform with educational contents to provide adults of all ages with the values and skills they need to become more resilient. The platform will be published in languages 4 (English, Danish, Spanish and Polish) and it will be accessible for free from computers, tablets and smartphones.<< Implementation >>We will produce a first version of the e-learning platform in 4 languages (English, Danish, Spanish and Polish). Afterwards, in order to assess how effective the e-learning platform is, we will organise a transnational pilot testing with 90 adults from 3 EU countries (Denmark, Spain and Poland). Based on the results from the transnational testing, we will improve the e-learning platform before disseminating it across the EU.<< Results >>The first open and multilingual e-learning platform to provide adults of all ages across the EU with the values and skills they need to become more resilient. The platform will be published in languages 4 (English, Danish, Spanish and Polish) and it will be accessible for free from computers, tablets and smartphones.

The project results were well over the initial expectations: it won the European Fire Safety Award; it was presented as a good practice in the European Forum on Integration of Migrants and Refugees in Hamburg (Germany); it was presented as a good practice in the International Safety Education Seminar in Antwerp (Belgium); it was presented as a good practice by the Danish National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme; in Poland, the National Chief Fire Officer recommended all firefighters across the country use the Firefighters Plus online platform; in the Netherlands, the Firefighters Plus online platform was presented at the Dutch Fire Congress; etc. Similarly to firefighters in the context of the Firefighters Plus project, whose position as role models is because they are ranked as the most trustworthy profession across all global regions (Trust in professions, GFK Verein, 2016), most people have a very positive perception of fire cadets. Therefore, fire cadets also have a big potential to use their position to promote social inclusion. However, there is an absolute lack of training and tools to inspire and support fire cadets in doing so. In this context, the objective of the project is to strengthen fire cadets' sense and capacity of social initiative by developing the online platform www.firecadetsplus.eu. The online platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones, and it will include: - an online course on how fire cadets across the EU can use their good image in society to promote social inclusion; - a tool to assess the learning outcomes from the online course and to generate a certificate for users to add to their Europass documents; - a toolkit with methods and tools that fire cadets can use to plan, implement, follow-up, evaluate and disseminate the results of actions to promote social inclusion; - a collection of good practices and inspiring stories from fire cadets across the EU promoting social inclusion. In order to assess how effective the online platform is, it will be tested with fire cadets from 5 EU countries. The fire cadets will first complete the online course on how they can use their good image in society to promote social inclusion. Upon the completion of the online course, they will evaluate the acquired knowledge and skills using the assessment tools of the platform. After completing the online course, the fire cadets will choose from the platform and implement in each pilot two methods to promote social inclusion (e.g. smart help, intercultural exchange, awareness campaign, …). Based on the results from the testing and the feedback from the fire cadets, the project partners will implement the necessary improvements on the platform and will publish the final version in November 2022. The project will be implemented by a transnational and transectoral partnership involving both experts and end users from five EU countries. Beyond the project partners, the online platform has the potential to be exploited by a wide range of organisations and individuals, for example to train other cadet forces (e.g. army cadets; sea cadets, …) or to train youth workers on innovative methods to promote social inclusion. Thanks to its deployment as an OER under the Creative Commons license 'Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)', anyone will be allowed to freely use all the content as well as to modify it and build upon. Therefore, the online platform will serve as the impulsion for future innovations and developments in the European youth sector.

Many of our programs and services were suddenly and indefinitely restricted. As a result, third sector organisations have had to reinvent ourselves in order to continue offering a quality service to our target groups. This reinvention has generated new training needs, particularly among management personnel, as they are responsible for the formulation and implementation of the organisation's strategy. This is confirmed by the results of the transnational survey carried out by the project partners as part of the needs assessment for this project, in which 119 people with management positions in third sector organisation from 18 EU countries participated. To the question “In which areas do you currently need more training?”, 68.91% answered “digitalisation” and 65.55% “resilience”. To the question ""Why do you think that the training opportunities available to you do not suit your needs?"", 47.06% answered ""I have not found training opportunities on these topics"" and 44.54% ""They are not adapted to the needs of third sector organisations.""<< Objectives >>The aim of the project is to respond to the identified training needs by creating and disseminating across the EU first e-learning platform, open and multilingual, on digitalisation and resilience for directors and managers of the third sector organisations.<< Implementation >>During the 24-month project, the project partners will: 1) Organise the project kickoff meeting to revise the Work Plan and establish the guidelines for the development of the e-learning content.2) Produce the first version of the e-learning platform and contents in English. 3) Translate the first version of the e-learning platform and contents to 7 languages (Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian). 4) Test the first version of the e-learning platform and contents with directors and managers of third sector organisations from 7 EU countries (Spain, Italy, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Romania). 5) Organise a second transnational meeting to evaluate the results from the testing. 6) Improve the e-learning platform and contents based on the results from the testing. 7) Translate and publish the final improved version of the e-learning platform and contents in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian). 8) Organise a third transnational meeting to plan the implementation of the project’s Dissemination Plan and Sustainability Plan.9) Organise 8 multiplier events in all the countries represented in the project in order to present the e-learning platform and contents to potential users and stakeholders. 10) Implement a very ambitious dissemination plan to reach, at least: 4.000 third sector organisations, 60 platform and networks representing third sector organisations, 180 providers of continuing VET for directors and managers of third sector organisations, 100 policymakers in the field of VET, and 180 local, regional and national media across the EU.<< Results >>The main project result will be: The first open and multilingual e-learning platform on digitalisation and resilience for directors and managers of third sector organisations. The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform will be available in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian) and it will contain:1) Online Course for directors and managers of third sector organisations on how to formulate, finance and execute strategies to make their organisations more resilient through the use of ICT. 2) Online Assessment Tool to evaluate the learning outcomes from the online course.3) Online Toolkit (set of tools and supporting materials) to facilitate the formulation and implementation of digital transformation strategies.4) Social Media channels in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Hungarian, Portuguese and Romanian) for directors and managers of third sector organisations to exchange their experiences in the digital transformation of their organisations. 5) Good Practices section for those interested to share their good practices in making their organisations more resilient through the use of ICT."

Furthermore, by participating in voluntary activities, young people acquire new knowledge, skills and competences, that support their personal development and employability. Thus conclude studies such as ‘Voluntary Action in 2018’ (PVE) and ‘Intergenerational volunteering and solidarity’ (Eurobarometer 2011), among others. The EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 encourages Member States to promote the participation of young people in voluntary activities and highlights the importance of promoting good practices. Most European, national and regional programmes to support youth volunteering include, as an objective, the promotion of good practices but they do not define what is a ‘good practice’ or establish objective criteria for their identification. This is the conclusion from the study carried out by the partners of this project, after reviewing youth volunteering support programmes in 15 countries.Youth volunteering remains one of the few sectors without European Quality Standards. The definition of such Standards would facilitate the identification, promotion and development of good practices in all relevant areas of young volunteering and would therefore significantly contribute to the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027.In this context, in order to respond to this European need, this project aims to define and disseminate across the EU the first European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering. The first project activity will be to carry out a consultation in all EU countries in order to identify the most commonly used quality standards in the youth volunteering sector in each country. Based on the consultation results, the first version of the European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering will be defined. Subsequently, in order to assess how the recently defined European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering are understood and accepted within the European youth voluntary sector, the project partners will carry out a transnational testing. In order to motivate the participation of a large number of voluntary organisations across the EU, the testing will be organised as an award or contest: European Youth Volunteering Award. The jury will apply, for the first time, the European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering to assess the submitted projects and select the winner. Once finished the transnational testing, and based on the feedback from the testers, the project partners will define the necessary improvements to be implemented on the European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering. The definition and dissemination across the EU of the first European Quality Standards in Youth Volunteering will have a huge impact because:- it will contribute to improving the quality of the youth volunteering activities and therefore, the participation of young people in voluntary activities, promoting the EU civic life and youth initiative;- it will improve the capacities of people working in the youth field to develop quality activities;- it will quantitative and qualitative increase the offer of innovative resources for youth workers in the EU;- it will facilitate the selection, promotion and development of good practices in all relevant areas of youth volunteering;- it will contribute to the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, particularly to the objective of promoting the participation of young people in voluntary activities and promoting good practices. This project will be developed and implemented by a transnational and transectorial partnership composed by voluntary organisation and quality experts from seven countries of the EU.

The European Green Deal is a response to these challenges and it aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. The European Green Deal covers all sectors of the economy so WE ALL HAVE AN IMPORTANT PART TO PLAY, INCLUDING FIREFIGHTERS. Firefighters are omnipresent in every community across the EU. Between school visits to fire stations, talks given by the fire service to community groups and the lifesaving work, firefighters are very much in the public eye. At a time when there is such scrutiny on all aspects of climate change, firefighters can act as important public advocates in terms of environmental actions. This covers fire stations, which have an environmental impact all day, every day, the transportation involved and the fire fighting work which can be extremely polluting and damaging. Improving the green skills of firefighters will have a positive influence on the day to day environmental impacts that the fire service has in terms of pollution, waste, water and energy consumption. In this context, the objective of the project is to respond to the identified training needs of firefighters by developing the first open and multilingual e-learning platform for firefighters on green skills. The e-learning platform will be accessible from computers, tablets and smartphones. The platform will be available in 5 languages (English, Danish, Lithuanian, Greek and Spanish) and it will contain six e-learning modules:MODULE 1: OPERATIONS. How firefighters can carry out their daily operations out of the fire station (e.g. fire fighting, activities related to SEVESO/COMAH installations and dangerous substances, etc.) in a greener way.MODULE 2: ENERGY. How to reduce electricity consumption in the fire station.MODULE 3: WATER. How to reduce water consumption in the fire station.MODULE 4: WASTE. How to increase the percentage of the station waste that is recycled.MODULE 5: TRANSPORT. How to reduce CO2 emissions. MODULE 6: SOCIETY. How to promote sustainable behaviours in the local community. Each e-learning module will include: an online course on the topic; an online tool to assess the learning outcomes from the online course and to produce a certificate; an online toolkit (set of tools, procedures, and supporting materials) to facilitate to firefighters the effective implementation of the sustainability measures described in the online course. In order to assess how effective the e-learning platform is in improving firefighters’ competences, the e-learning platform will be tested with firefighters from five EU countries. The firefighters will first complete the e-learning and afterwards, they will put in practice what they have learnt by implementing some measures of environmental sustainability in their fire stations. Using the feedback from the testers, the project partners will define the necessary improvements to ensure that the e-learning platform responds to the needs of firefighters. The project will be implemented by a transnational and transectoral partnership involving universities, research centres, experts on e-learning and quality management, and fire and rescue services from five EU countries. Beyond the partners, the e-learning platform has the potential to be exploited by a wide range of organisations and individuals. Thanks to its publication as an OER under the Creative Commons license 'Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)', anyone will be allowed to freely use all the content as well as to modify it and build upon. Therefore, the e-learning platform will serve as the impulsion for future innovations and developments in the European education sector.
