Promoting self-entrepreneurship and female entrepreneurship, to increase employment levels and the economic autonomy of women, is therefore a desirable action.THE PROJECTThe ""European Handmakers Network"" project is part of this theme, proposing the creation of a digital platform that allows European women handmakers to have a place where they can be followed by online mentoring in English, in order to increase their skills and turn their hobby into a micro enterprise. This mentoring activity may concern not only women already operating in the manual work sector, but also those who want to transform their home-based craftsmanship into a working activity. Infact, many women in various regions of Europe already deal with the production of artefacts, which contribute informally to the livelihood of the family. In addition, women who are already successfully pursuing their entrepreneurial activity would begiven the opportunity to exercise a role as trainers and to be a good example for other women, as well as to promote their activity at European level. The digital platform would allow:1. To deepen the financial training of the handmakers;2. Provide methodological tools on starting a self-employed job;3. Develop the communication and training skills of the mentors registered on the platform;4. Spread the exchange of good practices, through peer-to-peer mentor-handmaker training;5. Create a sustainable training network at European level between mentors and users. The project therefore envisages cooperation between different partners at European level, with a specification of the roles and tasks to be performed. The organizations involved will thus be able to make available their skills in communication, training, ICT and financial education to be able to carry on the project, under the coordination of Creativi108 which already has projects focused on similar issues, such as the project "" Florà: Handmade across Europe ""(2017-1-IT02-KA204-036766).TARGET GROUP:- Hobbyist women- Unemployed women-Women who intend to start their own micro business-Successful businesses run by women- Training bodies in the economic and financial fieldBENEFICIARIES:-Women handmakers-Women who intend to start their own micro business-Women entrepreneurs- Businesses run by women- Women's organizations- Households where women informally manufacture artifacts-EU organizations in the field of female employment-Training bodies that deal with self-entrepreneurshipEXPECTED IMPACT:On women handmakers:-Development of skills useful for establishing a micro enterprise-Acquisition of methodological tools to start your own business-Ability to join an online community to increase your success-Ability to be able to transform your informal home business into a micro-enterprise that generatesincome-Ability to be able to learn about good practices-Be part of a European solidarity networkOn women entrepreneurs:-Development of communication skills in mentoring (through mentoring guide)-Exchange good practices-International advertising of their businesses through training activities-Be part of a European solidarity networkThe project consortium aims to respond proactively to what is stated in article 23 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union regarding equality between men and women in all areas (4).It will bring together 6 partners from EU countries, among which there will be organizations that deal with communication and with skills on digital platforms and others that will be able to make their contribution since they are already involved in training projects for handmakers.(1) Horizon2020News, reporting European Commission data, http://www.horizon2020news.it/donne-imprenditrici-ineuropa-ce-pubblica-studio-sui-dati-statistici, last consultation, 10/02/20(2) Eurostat, employment statistycs, https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statisticsexplained/index.php?title=Employment_statistics/it, last consultation, 10/02/20(3) European Parliament, https://www.europarl.europa.eu/factsheets/it/sheet/59/uguaglianza-tra-uomini-e-donne, last consultation, 10/02/20(4) Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, https://www.europarl.europa.eu/charter/pdf/text_it.pdf, lastconsultation, 10/02/20"

The project aspires to support the development of sustainable management strategies of wild harvests as well as easy-to-use post-harvest handling practices for various indigenous medicinal and aromatic plant species at local and regional food systems and enable very small farmers, wild herb collectors and rural entrepreneurs who simply lack the legal basis for direct sales of processed products to enhance their income. To achieve this, the project will link scientists with theoretical and methodological expertise with practitioners and stakeholders knowledgeable about the medicinal plant production value chain. This exciting education focused project will generate concrete actions for knowledge transfer, through the organization of workshops, training activities and peer-to-peer learning for wild herb collectors and rural entrepreneurs. Thus, the project will contribute towards the development of a highly trained and technology-ready workforce within the botanicals sector in order to support conservation, healthcare and livelihoods. It will have additional “down-stream” educational benefits for small-scale farmers themselves. The project will also develop a training and a validation procedure for those interested in sustainable small-scale medicinal plant production. The Wild MAPs FiT includes a strong partnership. The Project Wild MAPs FiT comes as an answer to the above, with objectives that include:• O.1: Analysis and preparation of a pathway for sustainable Wild MAP Collection Process.• O.2: Preparation of OER Materials for sustainable Wild MAP Collection Process• O.3: AgroCert for Wild MAP Collectors/ processors• O.4: Creation of a GIS-enabled tool for the identification and geographical allocation of climatic and ecological Data• O.5: Pilot implementation and engagement of local MAP CommunitiesWild MAPs FiT targets numerous and diverse groups of stakeholders, including:Beneficiaries:1. Very small farmers2. Wild herb collectors3. Rural entrepreneursRelevant stakeholders:1. Herbs associations2. Companies in the agricultural sector, mainly herbs3. VET providersResults expected to be achieved during and after completion of the project include:• Result 1: 2 state of the art training Curricula (I.O.2) (1 for Wild MAP collectors/1 for Wild MAP processors)• Result 2: An online training material with OER and integrated into an interactive mobile application (I.O.2) (Audiovisual/educational videos) so as farmers and individual to be trained in Wild MAPS• Result 3: Creation of a completed Certification (I.O.3) (AgroCert) by ELGO Dimitra. This will contribute to the Strengthening of product value (Wild MAP), as the whole procedure will be certified. We will develop an assessment methodology for Wild MAP Collectors and Processors and an AgroCert Scheme.• Result 4: Introduction of sustainable methods for the transform and processing of Wild MAPS (I.O.2) and creation of new incomes methods• Result 5: Creation of the innovative GIS (I.O.4). This tool is going to generate impact fostering sustainability by providing accurate real time information on the intensity of specific Wild MAP in local areas, notifying about burdened areas where collection should be limited. that this tool can be enriched with content, covering other areas (flora and fauna) providing updated information on various aspects (i.e. agriculture and cultivation, etc)• Result 6: For first time we go local and we activate the local societies to embrace the whole project and we create the appropriate conditions for the prosperity and welfare of the people in local level. We will focus on an open consultation procedure with local authorities, agriculture communities. Also we will include face-to-face engagement with stakeholders and we will build Wild MAP Communities.• Result 7: Transferability. The methodologies of the project can be easily transferred into other sectors of agriculture (Mushroom, Cultivation). All the I.Os of our project could be implemented and in other agricultural projects.
