The concept of New Educations has been launched by the Romanian teacher George Vaideanu in 1988 and they constitute proof of the involvement of the education systems in the popularization of problems of the contemporary world, hoping to find peaceful and viable solutions. The followed objectives were the ones established from the beginning:1. Improving the educational act by developing the transversal skills to 2,000 students 2. Increasing the quality of education by developing personal and professional skills to 300 teachers 3. Creating an international network of collaboration that will include schools and institutions working in the education and training of teaching staff for permanent exchange of best practices. The project gathered together nine organisations from seven countries: two NGOs - Edulife, the coordinator of the project, from RO and DEMA from ES, 6 schools from RO, IT, HR, TR and PL, and one enterprise, ATiT, from BE. The project had a modular structure, including nine modules, one per each education and each partner was in charge with one education. The distribution was according to the background and experience of each partner. Each partner proposed Methodological Guidelines - workshops scenarios - for all partners in order to develop those activities in schools; at least 5 activities per module were developed in each partner school, following the development of transversal skills to students and different personal and professional competences to teachers. Over 2000 students were involved in the activities of partner schools, growing their transversal skills. Workshops on the themes of New Educations with volunteers and trainers were organised in NGOs. Over 300 teachers and trainers from partner institutions developed their personal and professional skills. Workshops scenarios of all modules composed the Guide with methodological instructions for using New educations in order to develop transversal skills to students. The most significant results of activities (videos, pictures, posters etc.) were included in the large version of the Guide. The theoretical aspects of teaching each New Education were included in a course with nine chapters, one chapter for each New Education. The Guide and the Course were the Intellectual Outputs of the project, presented in six Multiplier events in six countries of the project partners. The website of the project www.new-educations.eu contains the main results of the project: newsletters, leaflets, brochures, posters, presentations and also the intellectual outputs in digital form. Project participants are pleased with the activities they have participated in, the knowledge they have gained and the skills they have developed: they better understand the concepts of each new education, they have understood that the manifestation of active and responsible social behavior is suited to a changing world, understood the importance of constructive interest in community issues. They have developed their team spirit and digital skills to better adapt to a changing society. Increasing the quality and attractiveness of the educational process by using the new teaching and learning methods and strategies as a result of the development of the professional and personal skills of the staff involved in the teaching process has had a great impact on the schools involved. The partner organizations have increased their visibility in Europe by popularizing the results achieved through their activities, and have strengthened their own organizational capacity and their own courage to develop themselves in the future by accessing European funds. The experience and intellectual results obtained within this project will be a strong starting point for future development actions, educational projects."

The objectives we focus on in this partnership are: the orientation of learning towards the European systems, the involvement of the local community in the educational activities, in order to motivate students and provide them with the necessary competences for further learning. The project aims to increase learning motivation, basic skills and transversal (digital, multilingualism) development, testing and implementation of innovative teaching methods, student-centred, based on the 8 Multiple Intelligences, non-formal learning and activities both outdoor and indoor.Project partners represent schools and adult training institutions with a different cultural, social and economic background. Project partners have different ways to respond to challenges and have different experiences and points of view. By working together as partners we can explore the differences, identify similarities and move towards common ""European"" solutions with local variations. The participants in this project are staff and students from the partner schools, staff of Quarter Mediation, experienced in teacher trainings in learning motivation issues and staff from CJRAE DOLJ, experienced in counselling activities for students, teachers and parents. The groups from each school are heterogeneous, the teaching staff at all levels of school education, also the teaching aids, have to be in contact with the European educational system, to benefit from examples of good practice, to share experience, to establish cooperative relationships with foreign partners. The students involved in project activities are also from the disadvantaged groups-poor families, emigrants, children with special educational needs- considering they could have more benefits from the partnership results, by learning to learn in a different, innovative way, in different learning environments. The work methods used during the partnership are active-participatory and non-formal, group centred, set on a cross curricular approach of learning, stimulating communication and reflection, use of cultural and historical heritage, ICT and mobile technologies, outdoor education, learning by doing, hands-on. This practice process motivated and stimulated all categories of participants, the teamwork. Thus we achieved a more efficient communication and cooperation between all the factors involved in education. Through the network and during the workshops and meetings, participants learned about each other and exchanged experiences and ideas in order to make project work more innovative and more interesting. The project meetings enabled the teachers and trainers to discover the partners' working context. Furthermore, the participants could learn and appreciate partners’ lifestyles and stimulate an open and tolerant attitude and understanding of the partners' culture, their social and economic situation and living conditions. Common project activities contributed to a positive reflection both on one's own and partners’ position within Europe, and strengthened the ""European identity"". The project materialized in the guide, „How to use non-formal methods in the formal education”, containing good practice examples made by Quarter Mediation trainers and other teachers who organized workshops, good practice of non formal lessons, made by all the partners, comparative study of using non formal/classical methods in lessons. Other results are: learnt knowledge and experience transferred to colleagues and students; increased professional skills; enrichment of intercultural awareness; improvement of staff and students’ language skills and the European dimension of school activities. By implementing and promoting of innovative teaching methods, we opened new horizons of knowledge for students, therefore extending the educational act beyond the classroom, we developed the creativity, initiative sense, active participation, disciplinary learning, awareness of European citizenship. The acknowledgment of the results increased the motivation of all those involved in education process in partner institutions. We are part of an intercultural group, which promotes exchanges of experience and transfer of good practices at European level. With the project results freely available on the project website in English, also in participants’ native languages, project results will be exploitable in all European countries."
