It will do so through a two-way engagement in the development of technologies, empowering end-users and workers, and supporting social innovation, in a process labelled the SEISMEC shift. It will contribute to increased inclusiveness, by supporting a human-centred approach to technology development that is aligned with European social and ethical values (including gender and intersectional aspects). The benefits of human centrism will be measured in Creativity, Collaboration, Autonomy, Automation, Productivity, Privacy, Safety and job Satisfaction, the CAPS empowerment factors for human-centrism. SEIMSECs two-way engagement introduces technical innovations such as explainability, co-development, feedback methods and interfaces to enhance human centrism, but also incorporates plans, needs and innovations from companies and their workers steering them towards an empowered human-centric Industry 5.0 path. The consortium brings together institutions at the forefront of engineering, computer science, networking and exploitation, coordinated by a world-leading social sciences and humanities university, and building up on groundbreaking European projects on industrial innovation. SEISMEC pilots are representative of all sectors and company sizes, and most European countries and worker roles. Every industrial enterprise in Europe will be able to see some aspect of their activity reflected in SEISMECs pilots and will be able to learn from the project’s outputs through an active campaign of cross-sector empowerment practices exchange. With a strong engagement of European, national and local stakeholders, SEISMEC is landmark effort in European industry’s shift to empowerment and human-centrism, one that puts the worker and European Values at the core of its global competitiveness

It will provide general guidelines to select the best market for a new technology and to ensure the best commercial development, through (i) the best environmental efficiency (direct impacts of packaging, food waste impacts, optimized recycling composting combusting end life, preserved consumer health), (ii) the best consumer acceptability, and (iii) an optimized industrial feasibility. In order to do so, 3 ambitious SMART key objectives with associated KPIs will be considered during the Mypack project to promote the commercial development of: - Biodegradable and compostable packaging. - Packaging from renewable resources. - Elaborated (high barrier and active) packaging technologies. Barriers and challenges are clearly identified and solutions to overcome them are presented. 7 innovative sustainable food packaging solutions are considered of which 5 will be developed and exploited. The sustainable food packaging state of the art is comprehensively described and it is made clear how Mypack solutions will extend beyond it. Appropriate measures, in line with the work program, were selected to maximize the impact of the project. Mypack project targets the scope of the call throughout this proposal and is thus fully in line with the call objectives. A convincing exploitation plan is presented in the form of 7 work packages, 5 of which are technical in nature. Appropriate milestones and risks are considered in order to complete the project objectives in the due time. The Mypack consortium is composed of 18 partners, covering the academic, scientific and industrial world, including SMEs. Major stakeholders have provided letters of intent, showing their interest in the Mypack approach which will have essential impact in order to define the best markets for the exploitation of innovative sustainable food packaging solutions.

The MaaSAI System aims to revolutionise manufacturing and remanufacturing processes by facilitating access to flexible and decentralised capacities, through the MaaS business model, that extends the principles of the service-oriented economy to the manufacturing industry. The MaaSAI System aims to contribute to the reduction of the heavy investments that manufacturers have traditionally had to make to set up and maintain their operations. With an emphasis on production flexibility, agility and responsiveness, the MaaSAI System enables on-demand sustainable manufacturing, optimising resource utilisation, facilitating the transition towards circular facilities, and promoting better integration of the value chain. The MaaSAI project leverages on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (xAI) in autonomous agents to negotiate the use of manufacturing capacities between providers and consumers in a dynamic MaaS ecosystem. The incorporation of secure, and real-time data exchange between participating companies ensures fast response times and improves collaboration. The MaaSAI System represents a paradigm shift that enables manufacturers to access and utilise on-demand production capabilities, further increasing efficiency and lowering barriers to entry for SMEs. The MaaSAI project will deploy 3 main key exploitable results: 1) MaaSAI Cloud MaaS Marketplace; 2) MaaSAI Provider Suite; 3) MaaSAI. The MaaSAI System will be demonstrated in 5 Pilots of European companies from different sectors: metal machining, gears and mechanical power transmission, biomaterials, food processing, and electronics manufacturing.

However, unlocking the full potentials of edge-level intelligent management requires concerted efforts in platform development and cross-sector collaboration. COP-PILOT, develops a Collaborative Open Platform framework geared towards orchestrating end-to-end services across diverse industry domains. In crafting an open platform, COP-PILOT provides a flexible solution designed to effectively manage various industry sectors while ensuring robust security, automation, and intelligence features. Regarding interoperability, the framework seamlessly integrates with underlying technologies, ranging from IoT platforms to core infrastructure, facilitating collaboration across the compute continuum. Furthermore, COP-PILOT empowers the development of advanced cross-sector applications by offering support for cutting-edge network services, thereby enabling heightened security, resource management, and automation capabilities. The implementation strategy revolves around two primary directions: enabling platform implementation and real environment integration. For the former, COP-PILOT adopts a modular orchestration approach, simplifying the onboarding of complex applications through a user-friendly generative AI interface. This approach includes integration with multi-tiered data processing, policy-driven optimization, and dynamic reasoning capabilities, ensuring alignment with prevailing industry standards. In terms of real environment integration, the platform is deployed across four large piloting clusters, addressing a diverse array of edge paradigms. These use cases span across energy, smart city, agriculture, and industrial manufacturing sectors, fostering the development of cross-sector applications in mobility, logistics, and resource management.
