    The ultimate goal of the ANL-MEd is to modernize and vitalize the educational and training system in maintenance engineering and by this to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of Algerian industry. The aim is to provide Algerian industry with a new generation of skilled personnel, especially at mid- and higher levels, along with ensuring flexible and continuing education and training of industry personnel at all levels. In order to handle the current limitations and to remove the barriers hindering the performance improvement of the companies the objectives are:1. To implement curricula in maintenance engineering in Algerian HEIs and to adapt it to the needs and structure of Algerian industrial companies. 2. To create a national organization ANL-ORG with member universities and companies for coordinating the activities regarding maintenance education and training and active collaboration university-industry. 3. To strongly involve the manufacturing companies to development of curricula in maintenance engineering. 4. To develop the ANL-KNOWLEDGE Platform for education and training. 5. Overall improvement of the company climate, perfomance and quality in education and training in maintenance engineering. The main outputs and results of AN-MEd are:1. New curricula (60 ECTS) for maintenance specialization, ANL-EDUC in English and French2. New training programme, ANL-VET for industry personnel in English and French3. Innovative learning methodology – ANL-Project scenarios - for short practical project in cooperation with industrial companies4. ANL-Knowledge Platform with LMS for OER system, and tools for communication and information. The Platform allow for E-learning for education and training.5. ANL-ORG for coordinating the activities for education and training.The main impact is the strengthen of the cooperation academy-industry, provide industry with skilled personnel at all levels and improve the competence of maintenance personnel

    The InPROVE project (Initiation du PROcessus de Validation des acquis de l’Expérience par l’enseignement supérieur en Algérie) aims to develop and implement a framework for the assessment of prior work experience (non-formal learning) as the basis for a partial or full validation of a university diploma in Algeria. The InPROVE consortium consists of the Ministry of Higher Education, six Algerian universities, two partners representing the Algerian socio-economic community and six European partners.The main outputs of InPROVE include:- guidelines describing a management structure able to support a Validation of Prior Experience (VPE) application, together with their access portal,- a methodology for evaluating VPE applications,- 15 educational programmes described in terms of business skills blocks.In addition, the project foresees and supports the introduction of:- a network of fully trained VPE counsellors, able to inform and support efficiently the candidates- a network of teachers trained in skills assessment,- a network of teachers able to transcribe educational programmes in terms of business skills blocks,The final objective of InPROVE is to perform, on the 15 formatted educational programmes, the experimentation of the whole developed structure and methodology by offering VPE opportunities to real candidates.The expected impacts of the project are:- for the Ministry of Higher Education, examples of fully reusable good practices regarding VPE, currently recognized as a key priority in the context of the specificities of the Algerian society,- for the Algerian universities, the availability of fully trained staff able to support another way of delivering diplomas while strengthening continuing education,- for the socio-economic sector, new opportunities to enhance the career development of their staff.

    COFFEE (Co-construction d'une Offre de Formation à Finalité d'Employabilité Elevée) is a project aiming creating and implementating pilot professionalizing bachelor degrees in Algeria. The COFFEE consortium includes the Ministry for Higher Education and Research (MESRS), nine algerian universities as well as two organisms representing industry and six European partners.Professionals from industry express quite significant needs for quickly operational middle-management whereas only 5% of students actually enroll for professional training courses. COFFEE brings an answer to these two issues by offering both a methodology for co-building with industry and attractive pilot bachelor degree programs.Thanks to COFFEE, nation-wide cooperation between industry and university will be extended and strengthened.COFFEE’s key achievements are :- a structural matrix that provides a framework for creating and implementing pilot bachelor degree programs,- a procedure for co-building these programs,- a post-project collaborative platform to disseminate the COFFEE approach for creating and implementing new professionalizing programs,- an inventory for training programs, competences and metiers in order to make the relationship between degrees, competences and jobs visible and to enhance it,- a network of experts trained to a competence-based approach description of bachelor degree programs,- eighteen pilot bachelor degrees.A significant impact is expected from COFFEE on :-industry at large, that will have at its disposal a set of graduates able to become quickly and fully integrated,-academics who will improve and multiply their universities’professionalizing training programs and strenghten their ties with industry,- students who will get valuable sought-after degrees,- the MESRS, that will be provided with examples of good practice which may be useful for the implementation of its policy towards the creating of professional training courses.
