Kerületi Szabó Lörinc Kéttannyelvü Általános Iskola és GimnáziumNiepubliczna Szkola Podstawowa w Ciagowicach,Budapest II. Kerületi Szabó Lörinc Kéttannyelvü Általános Iskola és GimnáziumFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2018-1-HU01-KA229-047733Funder Contribution: 23,668 EURThe context of the project called ”Learning Together About Legends and History” reflected the fact that 2018 was the European Year of Cultural Heritage. It involved the partnership of a Hungarian bilingual school in Budapest and a Polish private school in Warsaw which cooperated with each other pursuing the goal of making national legends and history more valuable among students. Both countries have their own legends and stories but as we worked together, it turned out we have many historical connections. The main objective was to improve our foreign language, cultural, digital and interpersonal competences. We integrated subjects like English. Literature, History, Drama, Music and Arts. All the participants got involved into learning activities which developed students` cultural and historical knowledge to a large extent. Due to the programme filled with all kinds of activities such as visiting Krakow together, the Polish teachers' visit to Budapest, establishing drama performance, sending video messages, doing observations, taking photographs, collecting data, sharing findings and results with the peers and the other pupils of the partner organisation project, all the participants, students as well as teachers, became more sensitive towards history and culture. The project started with a joint-staff meeting in Budapest. Thanks to this professional visit, observations, professional discussions and casual conversations took place at the receiving organisation. The main aim included language teaching methodology applied for students with multicultural backgrounds, working with mixed level- and ability groups, teaching science classes, observing international relations and project management. We had an opportunity to compare and analyze the differences and similarities in the field of the teaching methods of children with special needs. The knowledge acquired during the mobility was shared in both participant schools and the learned methods were integrated into the lessons. Polish teachers gained more experience in CLIL methodology and incorporated this new experience into their own practice. One of the long-term benefits of the project is the implementation of new creative and innovative teaching strategies in Poland which include the use of the teaching aids purchased in Hungary. Afterwards, Polish and Hungarian students worked on previously chosen topics about legends related to Hungarian and Polish history. They prepared many presentations, lapbooks, games and quizes using ICT tools which developed and supported their self-esteem and enhanced the process of becoming more competent users of the English language. As a result, they also improved their cultural knowledge. The personal meeting of the pupils from Warsaw and Budapest took place in Krakow. This city was chosen as a site of the most important learning activity of the project because of its unique and special place in the Hungarian and Polish historical connection. The Polish legend ”Dragon of Wawel” has similarities with the Hungarian legend ”Dragon of Kisnána” Students got to know the history of the city and its cultural heritage during guided tours inside the Wawel Castle and The Historical Museum of the City in Kraków and at sightseeing around the Old Town. They used the English language to communicate and cooperate with each other in games and while acting previously chosen roles in a play titled ”The Wawel Dragon.” The personal connections of the children made them even more motivated to develop their English knowledge. This possibility was a unique experience for pupils already highly committed towards each other thanks to the previous project. During all the activities students and teachers got to know each other better by personal interactions. Through the intensive use of the English language online, in drama and face to face pupils and teachers became more competent language users. We developed soft skills and European consciousness. By participating in the program and completing the project, participants set an example for both school communities involving each and every student and member of the teaching staff in both schools. Both partners became more sensitive towards history and culture. In conclusion, students were sensitized to preserve, protect and have an appreciation for tangible and intangible world cultural heritage. They feel more responsible for it after completing the project tasks. Both schools became more open for other eTwinning partnerships and willing to work on new projects together in the future.

According to the report ""Teaching Mathematics in Primary School"" of the Educational Research Institute in Warsaw, although the syllabus is an important condition for high quality mathematics teaching, it is not sufficient and the substantive and methodical skills of teachers and the quality of teaching aids play an equally important role. This research also revealed the lack of comfortable mastering mathematics teaching methods among teachers and the adoption of concepts compatible in every detail with a textbook without a creative approach to the use of mathematics in the students’ daily life.In response to this situation, within the project ""MathemaTIKs for Primary School teachers"" we will develop innovative tools and methods to facilitate the teaching of mathematics in a motivational manner, allowing to balance the development of accounting and algorithmic skills with developing creative reasoning skills not only in our country, but also at the level of the entire European community. In order to achieve this, three members of our Strategic Partnership, Polish Primary School Klasyk in Puławy, Latvian Primary School Skibes and Spanish non-governmental organisation PASOS will conduct research and training in teaching methods and best practices promoting effective education in our countries and facilitating the achievement of intellectual outputs (book, short didactic films and e-learning platform). The study visits will take place in Poland, Latvia and Spain, and the intellectual outputs will document the results of our work and ensure the availability of developed methods and tools for all interested teachers. In order to properly implement the ""MathemaTIKs"" project, we have also planned 3 international project meetings: Kick off, an intermediate meeting and an evaluation meeting, and three multiplier events, one in each of the partner countries. We expect that the project will help to improve the quality of mathematics teachers' work in primary schools, and, therefore, the process of acquiring knowledge among the students. Teachers participating directly in the project will increase their ability to carry out research, introduce innovation, create teaching materials and improve their language skills which will also improve their ability to work in an international environment.Through an invitation to participate in the study visits issued to other educational institutions and local and regional organisms, the Strategic Partnership will strengthen its international network of contacts which will allow the project to have an increased impact and enrich it significantly. Our European activity will also improve and result in the promotion of further development and implementation of Erasmus + projects aimed at introducing innovative improvements in the teaching system."

There are approximately 200 projects are prepared in our school every year. When the projects prepared by our students assessed by our teachers it is seen that;Projects are not formed, none of our students know to prepare projects in Accord with the preparing scientific projec steps. Meantime it is seen our teachers are inadequate about guiding our students through their scientific projects. Furthermore content evaluation of the projects prepared by our students shows that, Ministry of Education’s Project studies efforts which target students develope mental abilities and carry out scientific products are inadequate on expected gains. As Ali ÇETİNKAYA Secondary School we want our students and teachers be included in a preparing scientific project process. In this process they will find out methods and techniques for preparing scientific projects in cooperating with transnational partners learning by doing and living. Thus they will have experience in science field. With in our project 63 students and 15 teachers from three countries will directly take part through project processes. With our project we aim; 1. Encouraging 5 branch teachers of us to prepare scientific project in cooperation with their transnational collegues in 7 months.2.Our teachers share good practices with their collegues.3.Our teachers experience scientific research process by living themselves.4.Our teachers develope their occupational skills for guiding more effectively their students through preparing scientific projects processes.5 .Our students have the experiment preparing a scientific project in cooperation with transnational students.6.Our students meet role model studies on science field via the project exhibition and project contest we will organise.7.Our students have an education period in which they will learn preparing scientific project and gain besic skills on science via learning by doing an living, peer education and sharing good practices methods. We are planning to carry out our project with Poland and Latvia because we believe to have top-level experiment sharing with them.We want to provide a productive education period for our students in which they will share good practices and experiments, gain basic skills on science, encourage them to problem-based learning and prepare scientific projects in cooperation with transnational partnership. We aim our teachers develope their occupational skills on scientific project guidance by interaction with European teachers, make use of their collegues’ experiments via our project. We want to carry out this project with our transnational partners to realize our drawbacks on scientific projects, correct our faults by the help of different countries’ students and teachers, know EU’s values, make our students have positive behaviour towards these values, and the most important is CHANGING GOOD PRACTICES and EXPERİMENTS.We are planning to use all methods and techniques included in constructivist education system during project. Besides,we want to provide scientific projects in Accord with our students’ need and by student-centered teaching methods we want to impress not only our 21 students directly take part in prject but also all our school’s students somehow take part indirectly as well. At the same time we aim to share positive effects of the project primarily locally and then nationally and internationally via our multiplier activities.

Each participating institution had a strong political and environmental awareness ; Our Europeans partners were: Avcılar Firuzköy Çok Programlı Anadolu Lisesi in İstanbul in Turkey, Rezekne Polish State Gymnasium in Rezekne,in Latvia, Niepubliczne Gimnazjum ""Keglik"" in Sroda Wielkopolska ,in Poland. In the second meeting in Latvia, as the demand of all partners, the dates were changed and M2 and M3 meetings were respectively combined with C4 and C5. However, different dates were written in the first tables of the project and we couldn’t change the tables in the other parts of the project because these were send by the application form automatically. As it was planned, the responsible teachers learn the international sign language and get the certificate in Turkey first meeting and then they ran the club activities during education year. The international sign teacher was hired and the Money was paid by Project management and implementation by three partners. On the other hand the club students went on their learning activities while they were gathering information for book and mobile application. Learning, Teaching and Training activities included games and competions on sign languages. Then, when the partners came to Turkey (C3), we visited to the impaired school together and the students attended the sports activities with the impaired students. On the other hand, in Latvia (C4) we visited another impaired school and a trainer gave us information on sign language. In Poland (C5), we and our students attended city games to explore the city and to socialize with each other. It focused on strengthening effective teaching methods, especially interdisciplinary approaches, unifying teaching basic skills (English, native language and literacy) and appealing to lack of success priority via supporting problem-based learning projects which are among the horizontal priorities of Erasmus + Programme’s school education. Teachers adopted a student-centered approach to instruction increase opportunities for student engagement, which then helps everyone more successfully achieve the learning objectives. Because of including activities to develop our teachers skills made them criticize themselves on vocational ability and had positive effects on their vocational skills and all these were correlated with Erasmus+ Programme’s the priority of School Education: Strengthening the profile of the teaching professions. The Polish Team Created a facebook group of our project and uploaded video about our project name in sign language to youtube. The main Coordinator,Turkish team opposed a whatsapp group among partners to share ideas or materials instantly. The Latvian Coordinator created e-twinning platform and uploaded our studies to the platform. The Latvian Coordinator designed a website explaining and giving information about our project in detail. The partners wrote an English article about introduction and aims of our project published in social media web sites. The sign language book was written by Turkish team and was sent the partners. Finally, all files - The Sign Language Book PDF and the declearation of accuracy- was attached in annexes part."
