"""Together in our diversity"" is a two-year project that has been conceived to foster collaboration and innovation among four partner schools in different parts of Europe: Spain, Italy, Latvia and Romania. By carrying this project out transnationally we wish to tackle the issue of social inclusion from an European, broader, richer perspective which, no doubt, will make the project outcomes more widely valid and applicable to any other countries of our environment. The project aims at providing an insight into the state of the matter in the four schools, in order to raise awareness among our educators and our students , and thus develop more dynamic and committed learning environments. While tackling social inclusion and students at a disadvantage, our main priority, we will focus on two other major goals:a) develop competence in the English language, with a special attention to oral skillsb) improve the level of digital competence All the partner schools involved in the project bring to the table knowledge and experience in delivering successful school to school European projects and have many links with schools across Europe and outside the EU. IES Padre Feijoo (Spain) is a leading school in implementing programs to care for diversity and will act as coordinator. Our target groups are secondary school students aged 14-17, who will have the opportunity of taking active part in a multilateral project that they would otherwise have no access to, given their particular social, economic or academic disadvantage. Such opportunity will broaden their minds and it will increase their European sense of belonging, preventing racist, intolerant and chauvinistic behaviors. The project is based on the analysis of four main topics both through collaborative work on the eTwinning platform and by means of four short-term group exchanges:1- Migration, ethnicity, minorities.2- Abilities, disabilities, gifted students, specific programs.3- Gender diversity, stereotyped images, sexuality.4- Cultural and linguistic diversity, EU values and challenges.Apart from the exchanges, three staff training events have been planned to offer participating teachers some professional development on areas which are essential to guarantee the success and sustainability of the project: eTwinning, ICT and dissemination strategies. An initial assessment conducted by each of the participating schools has allowed us to identify our needs and set the following goals: 1) To foster social inclusion and to prevent early school dropout among socially disadvantaged students.2) To promote social and civic, digital and intercultural competences as well as foreign language learning.3) To develop the participants' oral skills in English through virtual media and face to face meetings.4) To study from an analytical, critical perspective the issue of social inclusion in several European countries different in their social nature, as well as in language and culture, in order to find common ground among the four partners regarding the social challenges that each of us faces.5) To come up with tools and resources which will enable us to prevent, deal with and solve the problems that our societies and school communities face due to social and ethnic diversity, migration flows and socio-economic differences.6) To encourage the use of eTwinning as an instrument to develop quality projects in education. All sectors of the school community will be represented in the project: students, teachers, social workers, learning support staff, families and local NGOs and agencies. This is a student-centered project, so our students will be the beneficiaries and key actors. As such, they will be involved in all stages of the program: design, development and implementation.Assessment will be coordinated by a joint assessment commission. All through the development of the project we will establish some key stages for evaluation: a) an intermediate and a final evaluation, b) on-site assessment during all staff training events and group exchanges, c) ongoing evaluation of work on eTwinning and d) follow-up meetings by virtual media after each student mobility. Partial evaluations of results and impact conducted on a regular basis will help to make adjustments and introduce improvements as required. The outcomes of the project will be available on a blog linked to the websites of the schools. It will also contain a virtual guide which may be used by other schools and institutions to address social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. A specific plan of action has been designed for dissemination activities to achieve as wide an impact as possible."

"The idea behind the project lies in the EU initiative European Heritage Days. EHD are the most widely celebrated participatory cultural events shared by people living in Europe. EHD, as a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, represent a unique example of a grass-roots initiative organised and shared by millions of European citizens. As organisers of a project involving European cultural heritage, we would like to share our project results with the rest of Europe, through storytelling (oral, digital, visual). This project is also created taking into account the need of schools from 6 different countries to ensure social inclusion for all their pupils, to give them the opportunity to get in contact with parents, grandparents and the elderly who live in their local area and children from other European countries. The participants are 6 schools from Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Turkey, at primary and secondary level. Nearly 3000 pupils and180 teachers are going to be involved in all the Project's activities and be direct and indirect beneficiaries. The Project will last for two years. 2 Project Management Meetings (Starting the Project in Greece, and Project Summary in Italy), 2 Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (in Romania and Latvia ), and 2 Short-term joint staff training events (in Turkey and Lithuania) are put into action. The Project focuses on the inclusion for all, spreading positive messages about diversity, where we value differences and other cultures. One of the main aimsof the project is to raise the students' awareness towards other european cultures, encourage students to learn different foreign languages, stimulate all the partners to make use of the ICT tools for communication and collaboration, so as to improve competences in these areas. We support the individual needs of the students by adapting our teaching methods as required. We will give them a wide understanding of different customs and cultures. Assisting them with contact withstudents from partner countries. The project's theme “Treasures” has brought together schools from Lithuania, Italy, Romania, Latvia, Greece, and Turkey. It is about the hidden cultural treasures in each country, whether they are tangible or intangible. Teaching and learning through practical activities mixed with myths, legends and local tales is an enjoyable way, both for teachers and students. In the context of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, our Project will contribute to raising awareness of the importance of Europe's cultural heritage through education. The students will learn about stories, myths, legends and local tales and will also create their own. By listening to different stories from each country, the students will learn about the similarities and differences between cultures and traditions. Each school will organize a Club (""Treasures of Europe"") with weekly activities related to the Project. The elderly will be invited once a month to share their knowledge and wisdom. Students will visit historical and religious places related to our Project’s topic. During the transnational meetings they will create a new tale involving all the six countries moral values identified in national myths and legends. In this adventure of knowledge they will be guided by their grandparents, the elderly and the people from the Senior Citizen Club and Ex-Teachers Club (Romania), as an exchange of good practices for others.A myth will be converted into a play using drama techniques to perform a mini-production. The final products will assure the quality of the project, such as google surveys, PPT presentations, digital storytelling of myths, legends and tales using the drawings and paintings of the students, lapbooks and web tools 2.0 as storyjumper or emaze, videos with the stories the students have made. An illustrated book of a new tale with ISBN number, a guide for teachers, a book of paintings done by children, a calendar with 12 pictures created by the students related to our myths and legends and the 2nd one with 12 photos taken on Project’s activities during the 1st year.Participation in the project is for all. All students will be involved in all the activities .All teachers, parents and grandparents will work closely with them to build their confidence and enjoyment in learning in order to reach their full academic potential. It will internationalise our schools and create a European dimension in the curricula. ""Storytellers across Europe"" will gather Europeans of all ages, genders, religions, beliefs, promoting a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning."

"Young people are the ones who are most subjected to new media and at the same time the ones that often lack abilities to independently and critically evaluate what they come across in the flow of media and information.Rendering that young people are the most susceptible to the dangers posed by the media and that we live in an era of media saturation, the inclusion of media and information literacy (MIL) education in school programs to generate knowledge on the role and functions of media and other information services, and to enable youth to process and evaluate the information they receive is a must. Due to the gap in media literacy development among the different States, the diversity of approach, initiatives and policies, the coordinator(Poland) decided to implement the current project with 4 other actors(Italy,Turkey,Latvia,Portugal) who have good practices and are dedicated to solving the problem.Internet and social media addiction, cyberbullying, fake news problems, adaptation to emerging digital culture, access to reliable information, online personal privacy violations, data security and various forms of digital fraud are among the fields of our project interest.Totally 50 teachers, who worked voluntarily in their schools for the solution of the problem, have a high level of commitment to the project and 125 students aged 13-15 and from all walks of life will join to 5 LTTs.Each LTT will enable us to accomplish the project objectives. The 1st LTTAs will benefit students to take full advantage of the opportunities of social media in a safe and ethical way; learn to choose what platform to post something on and the potential consequences of posting; feel part of the society by sharing personal thoughts on media and that feeling of belonging, which is a key for their social inclusion. The 2nd LTTAs will provide participants with tools to spot ‘fake news’ online, understand how they spread, and obtain access to verified information. This LTTAs will contribute to participants ability to be more discerning consumers of information found online, by thinking about the broad spectrum of disinformation and misinformation. As for the 3rd LTT, it aims to highlight each unique media form has a different way of presenting information.Students will understand how media change depending on how the media presenting; enhance their newspotting skills. Thanks to the 4th LTT, it is purposed to analyze the cases of the European schools regarding cyberbullying issues and to make all schools a cyber safe place and carry ""the cyber safe place"" concept to families as well.As for the last LTT, it will enable students to be judicious and active in content creation; produce info or reproduce disinformation instead of only receiving info passively; hold a sense of responsibility in the production, consumption and sharing of media. Our project also targets at strengthening the profiles of the teaching professions. In all LTTs there will be 5 workshops for teachers about innovative and contemporary teaching methods(Project based learning,Blended learning,ICT, Gamification, CLIL).These workshops will provide teachers with the opportunity of sharing good practices; strengthening intercultural dialogue and the bond between teachers from different European schools. These objectives will be achieved through Issue-inquiry Approach, Problem-based Learning,Case Study,Cooperative Learning,Textual and Contextual Analyses,ICT,CLIL.Under the favor of our LTTAs and methodologies, we target at accomplishing the following outcomes:Increased level of media and information literacy5 workshops about innovative teaching methods7 workshops in LTTs about MIL1 digital book as a final and common product5 digital e-bookletsPosters about positive digital footprint and digital citizenship weekVideos about digital citizenshipA podcast about digital rightsA social media literacy strategy plan (each school will adopt it for its own context)A storyboard about dis/mis/mal-informationLesson plans on Internet and Social Media AddictionBookmarks involving messages about MILOne-shot filmsMIL glossaryMovie postersDigital citizenship and MIL weeksThanks to local activities; eTwinning project; displaying project outputs in diverse media outlets; seminars; eTwinning learning events; our digital book; action plan on MIL;social media literacy strategy plan;Digital citizenship and MIL Weeks to be held every year in partners' schools, we will reach to larger audience and contribute to their being effective and long- lasting media literate European citizens. It is useful to think of MIL as a continuum rather than an outcome; we all will be more media and information literate.Briefly, in the long term, in/direct participants of the Project will have the capacity for access to, production and participation in the new media environment, act as active and critical citizens, take advantage of the opportunities in progress and innovation in the information society."

Five schools from five different countries from extreme regions of Europe from the farthest west (Funchal ,Madeira, Portugal,) to Latvia and Lithuania, in the far east, to the south (Italy and Spain) met on ETwinning .They collaborated to write and conduct a two year-project, in which pupils have worked on interesting topics related to being “greener”, to global warming, to climate change, to the environmental protection, respect and other valuable topics, linking mandatory curricula to day-to-day subjects and use of foreign languages (English as the official language of the project), and technology as the basis for project design. The project has involved about 1600 students and has focused on producing a series of television news items about important environmental issues during each short-term exchange of groups of pupils (supported by research activities and meetings with local experts from universities and educational centres) . Contents, curricular and extra curricular subjects of the project and a concrete goal of producing TV news documentaries, have given teachers , students, families and communities of these school institutions, the opportunities and incentives to apply and research new (non formal) and inclusive teaching. This has improved basic skills and increased pupils’ motivation, making the learning process more interesting and effective, providing a great visible benefit, preferably on disadvantaged learners - the weakest target group which suffer from early school leaving and absenteism. In so doing the project has allowed the five educational institutions to offer students with special needs more attention and greater motivation to achieve learning outcomes that may be obvious for others. Participating in an international project has helped these students to grow up and feel to have the same rights to be active members of the ongoing project. The mobilities have increased in the students the will to acquire and improve new skills; the experience of living in another country mingling with other cultures and realities have improved open-minded, flexible, tolerant and skillful behavior, skill in English and ICT have been increased as well as it was deepen the awareness of being responsible and active European citizens.
