BaPN (Be aware of and Protect Nature) is an International project to be carried out in the field of School Exchange Partnerships of Erasmus+. BaPN aims to make the participants and other stakeholders aware of the popular environmental problems and solution while making them improve their citizenship qualities and key competences and also meet new Teaching/Learning approaches and methodologies. BaPN consists of variable acts for students and teachers which manages to combine them in good harmony. The main objectives of BaPN are to make all parts;* be aware of environmental problems and work on solution ways* meet/learn and use new Teaching/Learning methodologies* be active citizens and take action into social matters* improve their key competences and skills* improve their ICT usage capacity* broaden their knowledge* meet and learn about new cultures* take responsibility and gain self confidence* understand the EU policies, priorities and EU bodies* spreading the physical Cultural Heritage of EuropeBaPN will be executed by partner schools from Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Slovakia in the leadership of the Dutch partner. The idea of BaPN firstly occurred in social media and turned into a body in e-Twinning platform. All partners were met in e-twinning platform (https://live.etwinning.net/projects/project/158246) after which, they have decided to carry out this project as a School Exchange partnership. All partners have junior secondary school students aged between 10-14 which is the target group of this project. That age group was selected specifically because they are at the beginning of their teens and candidates to becoming adults. This period is when they start to gain their major personal qualifications and habits. We have thought that, if the pupils learn true citizenship qualities at that age, it is likely that they will be better citizens in future. This is also the critical period in which children meet with bad habits and express themselves aggressively. Taking responsibilities, being active, social and self-confident will keep them away from those unwanted incidents.During BaPN, all partners will perform five different Learning/Teaching/Training activities. 4 students and 3 teachers from each partner will attend to those LTTAs. While students work on environmental problems and their solutions such as Global Warming, Pollution etc., teachers will help and guide them to execute those activities by using/meeting new teaching/learning methodologies such as Phenomenal Learning, Flipped Classroom, CILL, Task Based learning, ComputerContributed Learning etc..Searching and analyzing, group work, kinesthetic learning, learning by doing, cooperative learning and lots of other practical teaching/learning methods will be used actively.Participants will perform live campaigns outside their school such as planting trees, cleaning the beach, having demonstrations... and they will produce products such as sample Solar Energy panels, Wooden household items...etc which will enable them to be an active citizen. In a world where teenagers are bound with technology, of course, improving their ICT skills is another key objective of BaPN. Recording and creating videos, preparing presentations, digital calendars...will help them to learn How to use ICT in a true way.The teachers and students will also meet new and popular teaching/learning methodologies in practice. Whereas they are improving their skills, they will also improve their personality and citizenship quality, evaluate current applications and be more motivated to search, try and perform new ones.Dissemination and sustainability acts, of course, have great importance to achieve the expected benefits in a long term. Therefore, BaPN will try to reach as many people as possible.Cooperating and integrating with stakeholders such as nearby schools, local authorities, media, energy and environment companies, NGOs and parents will be achieved by different activities like having regular meetings, visits, interviews, applying questionnaires and inviting/involving them to the acts in schools. To make the outcomes reach more people, virtual platforms will be used effectively and all kind of documents will be easily reachable and downloadable for third parties. To sum up, BaPN is a project covering lots of social, educational and environmental matters to study on with the aim of ;*making people aware of environmental problems and solution.* encourage people and make them capable to take action as a truly social and responsible persons on social matters*integrating social and real matters to school curriculum by applying new methodologiesTo make the benefits last longer, the cooperation between partner schools will continue on eTwinning platform and the results will be shared in Erasmus+ Project results sharing, school gateway and other virtual platforms.

CSE bringing together 5 schools of 5 European Countries. The project is based on the needs identified by all partners in their institutions. These are to reduce students' tendency to be withdrawn, introverted, with aggressive and antisocial behaviors, cultivate cultural knowledge and freedom of thought, and equip students with the necessary knowledge for better integrate in a multicultural society, encourage interest for self-development and internationalize the school curriculum. The main aim is promoting European cultural heritage among our pupils/teachers determining them to improve their school success. Using stories, Arts&Crafts, Folk Dance and Music, Traditional games...are main core elements of CSE and Students have an innate love of main cores of this project. As a teaching tool, if they can be used well, all main cores empower developing imagination, creativity, empathy, respect, tolerance, appreciation for different cultures and in encouraging a positive attitude among people no matter the country, religion and race. Main objectives: – to raise awareness about commonalities and differences of partners – to increase students' willingness to express thoughts and feelings and their cultures creatively – to encourage using Culture via new methods in all areas of the curriculum In order to achieve the project's objectives we have planned the following activities based on the VARK model addressing to the all types of learners: -visual learners: logo, digital stories, Erasmus+ corners, questionnaires, bookmarks and wrist bands -aural learners: group discussions, web-chat on Facebook page and eTwinning Platform, email exchanges. -read/write learners: presentations, stories for the magazines, scripts for Puppet plays, dictionary, flyers. -kinesthetic learners: carnival, materials produced during Arts & Crafts, Folk Dance&Music workshops. The direct target group is represented by 50 teachers that will increase their awareness about the importance of tailoring teaching materials according to different learning styles. The indirect target groups are represented by students, families and local communities. There will be too many concrete results such as digital stories, play scripts, sample lessons...etc. We aim to create teaching materials that boost teachers' motivation to use digital and non-digital innovative practices, helping pupils to acquire key competences needed for living in multicultural societies. The results of CSE will reflect participants' learning/teaching experiences. We aim to motivate other actors of the education system to use our materials adapting them to their own needs. The schools’ institutional development plan will be expanded and the school curricula will be internationalized as we intend to continue using the teaching materials and tools used during the implementation. The project results will be available free of download in all virtual platforms. CONTEXTWe are five European schools which want to make joint efforts to increase our students’ knowledge and interest in subjects connected with the cultural heritage of our countries – Geography, History. Furthermore, in a world affected by globalization in which people have a tendency to look down on their own national heritage, we need our students to go back to their own roots by learning the customs and traditions that have been passed on from one generation to another. We think that if you don’t know your roots, you don’t know where you come from and if you don’t know your foundation, you can never develop. Therefore, we intend to cultivate our students’ patriotic feelings, determining them to look back to their past and their origins, at the same time broadening their horizons to other cultures and their specificities. PARTICIPANTSStudents – the target group is made up of about 1000 students aged 11-14; 100 students have special education needs. About 150-200 students will be selected as members of the work group (at least 30 / country, but the number may vary according to the size of the target group up to 40). They will be the engine of our project: they will be involved in the training activities before the exchanges, about 100 will participate in the activities during exchanges and will disseminate the information to the other members of the target group after the exchanges. Accompanying teachers – 2 teachers/country/exchange. One of them will be the coordinator, while the other one will be a History/Geography/Literature/Arts/IT teacher.OBJECTIVESThe main purpose of the project is to boost the cultural and intercultural awareness of all actors involved in its implementation. However, being specifically aimet at students, we have established the following objectives for them:OS1. To boost the cultural awareness of at least 80% of students, making them more knowledgeable about the history, geography, literature, customs, traditions, dances, musicOS2. To boost intercultural awareness and competence of all students, making them more knowledgeable about the other European countries, history, geography, literature, customs, traditions, dances, music.OS3 To improve students’ computer skills by having them use mobile applications and online tools for presentations, activities, assessment, creation of outputsOS4 To improve students’ transferrable skills – team work, adaptability, organisation, communication, research and analysisOS5 To improve students’ self-confidence and motivation for learningAt the level of the institutions, our objectives are:1.To improve the European dimension and international cooperation2.To motivate teachers3.To improve cooperation and communication among all school actorsMAIN ACTIVITIESWe intend to organize five exchanges, each hosted by each partner:1. C1 - The Austrain heritage – hosted by AT in September 20202. C2 – The Lithuanian Heritage – hosted by LT in May 20213. C3 – The Slovakian Heritage – October 20214. C4 – The Turkish Heritage – March 20225. C5 – The Polish Heritage – June 2022RESULTSTangible results include: presentations made by students (30), workshop materials, online brochures (5), the final output “The European Heritage”, guest students’ travel journals (80), the eTwinning space, eTwinning forum, photo albums (5), certificates of attendance (112) initial and final assessment forms, mobility documents (agenda, methodology, questionnaires, assessment forms) , Europass mobility documents (112), etc. IMPACTThe institutions will have the chance to benefit from the good practices acquired and transferred through students and teachers’ participation in the exchanges. They will promote intercultural learning and will open to new models that will benefit the students in the medium and long run, too.We will develop the European dimension of our schools and will be better trained to manage projects under the Erasmus+ programme – both the experienced schools and the less experienced ones.
