Despite having tertiary education similar to that of native-born women and migrant men, migrant women face additional obstacles in labour integration process, such as discrimination, lack of networking, mismatching job needs and qualifications, family-related commitments. In order to improve their labour market integration, migrant women need support and guidance through their integration process, they must be informed on their rights and obligations in the host society, they must be empowered, they must have access to trainings and be able to take full advantage of their skills. In this context the current project aims to apply a comprehensive approach providing networking opportunities, practical and transversal skills, assisting and facilitating the migrant women integration path into the EU societies through civics, art and sport coaching schemes, that could be an answer to the challenges they encounter. The 4women project will be based on the partners' practices that using the civics, art and sport, and especially the benefits of self-defence trainings and group coaching, could help to bring people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds together and can contribute to the integration and inclusion of women with migrant backgrounds and therefore to the community cohesion. To this end, the project aims to:- Build a social integration model for migrant women linked with non-formal education and life-long learning (LLL) methods;- Exchange knowledge and transfer good practices among partners on art, sport, civic education and group coaching of vulnerable adults;- Empower migrant women towards social inclusion, civic engagement and participation in the EU societies;- Provide awareness raising opportunities for stakeholders and general public to support migrant women in their integration process;- Promote intercultural dialogue and strengthen knowledge and acceptance of social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity in society.4women will increase the opportunities for social inclusion of all women, regardless of nationality, race and gender, using art, civics and sport values and taking into account the underlying European values.Main target groups will be the adult education providers (social workers, trainers, coaches, mentors, etc.) working with vulnerable adult learners, and especially with migrant women, and the migrant women in 4 EU countries themselves, where their social inclusion was identified as a challenge by the partners' experts. The consortium brings together 5 organisations from Germany, Italy, France and Spain, each of them with specific expertise in the AE field. The transnational cooperation between public & private sector is strengthen through the involvement of associated partners, where public institutions will ensure sustainability of the 4women outputs. The project duration is 24 months, calculated in order to implement correctly the planned action and achieve the project objectives. Main activities will be the development of Training Programme “Art, Civics, Sport & Coaching for Migrant Women’s Inclusion” for AEPs in 5 languages; JST where 15 staff members of the partners will exchange knowledge and practices on the developed training units; pilot tests with 150 migrant women in 4 EU Member States; local/regional dissemination events, where total of 125 representatives of the target groups are expected to assist; creation of 4women cross-border cooperation Network, website and project social group. The methodological approach taken by 4women is based on common decision making, adopting the initiative of regular exchange of practices, aiming to ensure that all consortium members are involved in the project’s progress, being aware of specific strengths of particular partners. The working methodology establishes an organic approach where the local and transnational activities are in constant interexchange and nourish each other at the various stages of the project, while dissemination ensures its success and sustainability. By building a common training programme, addressing the needs of the target groups in 4 countries, provided in 5 languages, with the use of art, civics and sport activities, along with a training component on transversal skills, the 4women project answers the needs of women's integration, while countering for gender equality and civic awareness at European level. At long-term will be achieved improved independence, self-esteem and self-confidence of the migrant women through empowerment sessions and civic engagement; better relationship between migrant women and the host EU societies; promotion of new tools in the AE field for social inclusión of vulnerable learners; transfer of knowledge and best practices between AEPs in the partner countries and the rest of the EU, thanks to the planned 4women follow-up activities.

The demand for relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes changes over time. Critical thinking, creativity and the ability to work as part of a team are equally important to build sustainable careers and become active citizens. Education through Sport (ETS) is a non-formal educational approach that works with sport and physical activities and which refers to the development of key competences of individuals and groups in order to contribute to the personal development and sustainable social transformation. Since the beginning of the 21st century the priority guidelines of the European model of development include the spirit of innovation, the development of a knowledge-based society and improving economic competitiveness for better social cohesion. In this context, ETS plays an important role and involves a reflection concerning better complementarities between different educational patterns in order to achieve the objectives set up by the European strategies. The ETS concept normally used in the school and youth education fields can be applied in the adult education sector as innovative method, targeting vulnerable learners who can improve their soft skills for better social and labour inclusion. The KeyActs project brings together a cross-sector, strategic partnership of 5 organisations from 4 Member States to support the exchange of best practices in the adult education (AE) sector by creating, piloting and disseminating a training methodology, using the sport for development of key competences of disadvantaged adult learners in the participating project countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Portugal & Spain) and across Europe. The KeyActs main objectives are:• Support disadvantaged learners by providing non-formal education through sport training and guidance, as a way of preventing social exclusion;• Empower and strengthen the role of adult education providers, exchanging best practices on sport pedagogical approaches, making them able to deal with diversity in non-formal learning environment;• Build close cooperation between civil society, youth and sport organisations, local authorities and the private sector to ensure the active participation of all members of the learning community in acquiring key competences;• Involve the wider community in the promotion of EU strategies for LLL (life-long learning) and social inclusion of disadvantaged adult learners. The project targets professionals/trainers/coaches from 4 EU countries and abroad, who work with socially disadvantaged adults (immigrants, refugees, NEETs, ESL, rural women, victims of violence, disabled people, ethnic minorities, etc.) and the vulnerable adult learners as final beneficiaries. KeyActs will respond to the needs of the AEPs to offer tailor-made learning forms to socially excluded learners on one side and on other side will meet the needs of vulnerable learners, enabling them to develop new competences and qualifications, which are essential for achieving economic competitiveness. The main output delivered will be an online Training Toolbox for Adult Education Providers (AEPs), offering training sessions meeting the needs and realities of disadvantaged adults, enhancing their skills and boosting their employability and integration in the European societies. Joint Staff Training will gather AEPs from the 4 countries to exchange best practices and acquire knowledge on the ETS approach, which later will be applied in pilot tests with adult learners in each country. 4 TMs, video conferences, focus groups, promotional and MEs form part of the management, dissemination, evaluation and follow-up activities.Total of 257 direct beneficiaries will be involved in the project, being 58% of them people with fewer opportunities (15 adult education providers in JST; 80 vulnerable adults in pilot tests of the Toolbox; 120 stakeholders in Multiplier Events celebrated in the 4 partner countries; 42 staff members and associated partners in transnational meetings and implementation tasks). Approximately 4000 people will be indirectly reached through the planned dissemination channels. The partnership will continuously monitor and evaluate the project results, ensuring their broad exploitation by running co-development and exchange activities with institutions, communities and networks. As long-term benefits are expected the empowering, up-skilling and re-skilling of disadvantaged adult learners in the 4 partners' regions and other EU countries, thanks to the transferability of the developed outputs; equipping adult education providers with contemporary resources, using ETS approach; supporting the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, providing quality tailored education with equal access to all; networking at European level between public and private sectors, education, youth and sport organisations for development of key competences and improvement of the basic and transversal skills of the European citizens.
