Those committed to promoting research in the region try to engage both politicians and the general public by means of a wide variety of activities. One particularly important crowd-puller is the biennial Researchers' Night (LUNA) in Bozen-Bolzano. The Eurac Research - unibz - IDM consortium together with other partners will be opening their doors for the sixth time on September 27 2019, allowing visitors to have a proper look at the work of the scientists, to enter into discussions with junior and senior researchers and conduct experiments with them, to be amazed and to have fun. In addition, LUNA 2018 will be one of the rare opportunities for the public to visit the new NOI Techpark, where the most important South Tyrolean players in science and innovation will have their offices and laboratories and will work together intensively. As usual, all venues (the headquarters of the consortium partners and of 10 additional partners) will be linked by a free shuttle bus service. The Awareness Campaign will target around 300,000 people. The ever growing visitor numbers of the previous events (in 2014 the record number of almost 16,000 visitors was reached!) suggests that we should expect at least 10,000 interested individuals who will be keen to join us. This year's theme is "Change and Challenge", and from 17:00 until midnight, young and old will be able to see for themselves how South Tyrol's researchers play their part in studying the changes in our world (e.g. changes in society, climate change etc.) and in facing the challenges of the future, elaborating possible solutions for all of us. Interactive stands, competitions, games, shows and discussions will offer something for everyone, and above all provide personal contact with around 300 scientists and technicians.

Despite available digital technologies, the industry struggles to implement sustainable practices, particularly among SMEs who represent over 90% of the sector. Current digital solutions remain fragmented and often inaccessible, creating barriers to widespread adoption of sustainable practices. INTEGRATES addresses these challenges by developing an innovative framework that connects Building Information Modelling, Digital Twins, and data-driven services through an intelligent knowledge architecture. The project will achieve this through three key innovations: - A unified ontology-based knowledge framework, supported by neuro-symbolic AI, bridging existing building data standards - User-centric digital tools for SME adoption, featuring AI-assisted workflows that reduce design and planning time, and facilitate operation and resource recovery - An integrated platform connecting building lifecycle phases through Digital Product Passports and Digital Building Logbook These innovations will be validated through four complementary demonstration cases spanning different building types: a public building end-of-life transformation in Italy, a residential renovation in Bulgaria, a smart district optimization in Belgium, and a new construction project in Spain. The project targets reduction in renovation planning time, increase in material reuse rates, improvement in energy efficiency, and active implementation by local SMEs. Through participation in standardization committees and regional networks, INTEGRATES will drive lasting change in the European construction sector. The consortium brings together 16 partners from 9 countries, combining research institutions, technology providers, and regional innovation hubs to ensure both technical excellence and practical implementation focused on SME need

KAIRÓS project fully addresses the challenges of part 7 – Innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises – of HORIZON 2020 Work Programme 2014-2015. It will offer services to SME’s to enhance their capacity in managing innovation. It will promote the importance of Innovation Management and SME Instrument among small and medium enterprises, providing companies more inclined to innovation with two types of professional services: Key Account Management (KAM) for SME’s beneficiaries of SME Instrument and support to establishment of Innovation Management Systems (IMS) for companies with high propension to innovation. KAM service will help selected companies to better exploit the benefit of SME Instrument, accompanying them in finding a suitable coach, identifying and implementing their own exploitation plan. IMS support service will help innovation oriented companies in identifying and establishing their own system of management of innovation as a strategic asset for company growth on the market.
