"The project ""With teen eyes"" arises after the experience carried out in the CDP Santa María de los Ángeles, in the missing subject Integrated Project, in which different social issues are already addressed, with an active approach, through the use of short films as a product final. After having had two partners in Comenius projects, the International Department of the CDP plans to establish a partnership as a coordinating center. The search for partners is carried out through the Etwinning platform and, after presenting the project in two calls, it is finally approved in the third one, in 2017. The objectives of this surgical association after a survey conducted among the students of the participating centers, where we detected that adolescents consider that their voice has to be heard, that they can contribute a lot to society, and that they believe that audiovisual language is very effective. In addition, we detect that today's youth consumes many videos on the Internet. ; - educate in entrepreneurship. In total, we have been six participating centers, all of post-compulsory secondary education, both general and professional. They have made a total of 475 students and 32 teachers involved. The activities carried out have been: - at a local level, the centers have produced short films and observed their methodological use; It should be noted that four centers have included the project in the curriculum, two not, with effects on student involvement; - At the international level, we have repeated the schedule of meetings in both courses, which has allowed us to improve some aspects in the second year. Each year, we have held two meetings, one training, in which we have addressed issues such as auditory language, techniques and performance and another in international teams (with one student per center), have produced short films. It has been completed with three coordination meetings. About 60 short films have been produced, of which we have published about 40 (for quality reasons) and a manual for the use of short films as a methodological tool. The impact has been very positive on the participants, who considered that they have improved their linguistic, digital and creative skills, and that allowed them to learn more about certain problems in the documentation phase; It also highlights the learning involved in a short film project in terms of teamwork."

Nowadays Europe debates the lack of tolerance and respect and the rise of extremist movements. A partnership formed by four schools- IIS ENRICO MEDI, Leonforte, Italy, CDP Santa Maria de Los Angeles, Málaga, Spain, A Escola Secundária Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal and Gymnázium V. Mihálika Sereď, Slovakia decided to contribute to this current issue by preparing a project whose aim is to lead students to a better EU citizenship avoiding dangerous acts of intolerance, xenophobia and even violence against minorities. Our project is called NOE, which is an abbreviation of its title: No to Extremism- remember our past, created to avoid making the same mistakes our nations made during the period of World War II and in particular, Holocaust. As biblical Noah (in Slovak NOE) gathered all the animals in his ark in order to survive the flood, in one phase of the project students will gather the testimonies of Holocaust survivors, they will gather opinions of their peers, parents, grandparents about war to form a new generation of Holocaust witnesses (based on Elie Wiesel legacy: “When you listen to a witness, you become a witness) when soon there will be no more Holocaust survivors, so their message endures. The objectives of the project are to learn from each other and share best practices in order to develop a transnational pedagogical approach to Holocaust and anti-extremism education. This project highlights the importance of thinking critically, recognizing facts from hoaxes and propaganda not to repeat mistakes from the past, particularly from the period of WWII. It aims at motivating teenagers to learn more about history of their countries including the painful period of World War II. Also it will contribute to struggle against discrimination, xenophobia and racism, for example through workshops in the Museum of Holocaust in Sereď. On another stage of our project, it aims to enhance students' skills that are necessary to achieve democratic culture such as learning to learn, analytical and critical thinking, listening and observing, empathy, flexibility and adaptability, linguistic, communicative skills, co-operation, and conflict-resolution. Through these skills, we want to highlight the benefits of active citizenship and demonstrate that teachers can contribute to the creation of sustainable democracies. Participants of this project are students from 16-19 years old, 120 of them will take part in the exchanges and approximately 500 students will be affected indirectly. There will be at least 20 teachers participating actively and other 50 affected indirectly. Other target groups include host families, local community and the media. Some student activities, including listening to a former neo-Nazi or a story of a Holocaust survivor, will help students relate to these abstract concepts through personal accounts. Other student activities, such as creating a photo exhibition will engage students in thinking about stereotypes, prejudice and the consequences of unequal treatment. They will lead to strengthening of the students’ democratic values.Apart from these activities held at schools and implemented via online management tools such as eTwinning, there will be 6 transnational meetings planned in 2 years. There will be different issues solved on each of these meetings, such as “Recognizing fake news and propaganda on social sites and evaluation of sources”, “Impact of misinformation in media and social sites on growing extremism in Europe”, “Educating critical thinking of youth through media literacy” and “Holocaust and its role in European heritage”. The tangible results will be a website, short films, an e- book, a photo exhibition and a conference. With regard to methodology a student – oriented approach, critical thinking methods and experience- based education will be used. The impact of the project will be measured by surveys and questionnaires about values and attitudes of the participants. We hope this project will lead to long- term relationship among the partner schools and an inspiration for other common projects.

No one will wake up one day as a top talent. You yourself have a lot of influence on becoming good at something. But education also plays an important role in promoting excellence. About 5 to 10% of the VET students can achieve considerably more than the framework of the current curriculum allows them. Students who want and are able to do more, get the opportunity to follow additional programs with added value. This way they will achieve more than is expected beforehand. Excellence programs can act as a catalyst to stimulate students to achieve higher goals. The excellence programs focus not only on cognitive performance, but also on craftsmanship, creativity, entrepreneurship and international competences. With excellence programs, attention will be paid to excellent students in VET education witch will have a favourable effect on the reputation of VET education in general. The main question is; What is excellent education and how do we offer it to students? The primary target group of this project is teachers (+/- 30 in total) who are willing to learn more about excellent education. The secondary target group is students (+/-60 in total) who are willing to be challenged in excellent education and can give feedback on the different programs. Feedback of both target groups is important to learn about their views on excellent education and for developing a vision for excellent education. The desired impact of this project is:• Building a bridge between VET education and higher career skills and competences• Improve the reputation of VET education• Social inclusion for talented and ambitious students• Open teachers eyes to different way of teachingWe expect to raise the awareness for the need of excellent education and change the attitudes of teachers towards this subject. We will teach teachers skills and competences around excellent education such as the learning pit (James Notthingham), growth mindset (Carrol Dweck), creative thinking, etc.The expected output of the project and upon completion are;• Talking the same language about excellent education• Teach teachers about excellent education and how they can stimulate deep level learning by their students• Use each other’s best practices and test them in your own country• An international networkFurthermore we think that the dissemination of the results of the project will have a positive effect on attracting motivated students to VET education and reduce the bad reputation it has in some countries at the moment. To reach the objectives 4 transnational meetings will be held and 3 learning teaching trainings. During the transnational meetings will have the following objectives;1.Get acquainted, introduction and mutual clarification2.Discussions, status and progression in the actions3.Evaluation of the performed actions, divide tasks for following year,4.Reflection, evaluation, dissemination of the project to international group of teachersThe learning teaching training activities have the following content;November 2020 Malaga Business Bootcamp SpainJongLeren.es/Santa Maria de los Angeles will provide Málaga Business Bootcamp for teachers and students in collaboration with local organisations. In this 2 week bootcamp, students will live on their own, learn Spanish and work on a project provided by a local business.May 2021 Skills Heroes FinlandStudents will visit the finals of the national skills competition and will have their own skills competition on entrepreneurial/soft skills. Teachers will coach the students during this competition and will have a workshop and learn how to integrate skills in the curricula.November 2021 Teacher Training / Directors vision / BrainBoost & Up NetherlandsStudents will experience parts of the BrainBoost program and the Up program. Teachers and directors will have a training on the vision for excellent education, coaching excellent students and integrate excellent education in their curricula using practical tools.During the LTTA's the steering group, teachers and students will have the opportunity to develop competences related to excellent education. This will open teacher’s eyes on a different way of teaching and coaching students. Also students will learn about the growth mindset, creative thinking and the learning pit. They will experience a deeper level of learning. They can develop higher career skills and competences due to excellent education. During these LTTA's we will develop the same language on the different subjects and on excellent education. They will also work on expanding their (international) network by meeting each other. If they disseminate what they have learned within their own organizations, the network will grow. By learning about each other's methods of excellent education, we can use the best practices in our own organization and try out what works and what doesn't. The steering group will have separate meetings to reflect and evaluate on activities.
