Although most of our students think that science and art are separate branches, throughout history, science and art reflected similar values and parallel tools and methods. While studying topics like decorative designs, photography and sound, and architecture, always focusing on the different partners' culture, students will notice that arts and sciences are two important components of the culture of a society and they are closely related. Besides we need to develop new cultural and educational environments in which art and science will work together since the contemporary world needs innovation in an increasingly complex way of thinking. The partnership was based on cultural interaction and exchange, aimed at promoting friendship and tolerance. Students have shared their knowledge with other mates from other countries, improved their English skills and the ability to make a presentation in front of the public. The researches always done in teams have strengthen their ability to cooperate with mates and their mutual friendship and to be aware of the advantages to work in teams. All these contributed to enhance their self-esteem and their sense of belonging to a larger community, Europe. They improved their ICT skills since they prepared their presentations and created images and sound on computers, published their productions on their school's network, on the twinspace, communicated with teachers and mates from their own country or from partner schools via email, Twinspace, Skype, Facebook groups, etc... Partnership included 5 high schools from France, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Art, ICT, technology, Literature and English teachers have worked in an interdisciplinary way all year long and especially during the Project meetings.Students have been hosted exclusively in families, most of the time one per family, and this was a great chance for eveybody because both hosts and guests have learnt a lot from each other and shared food, habits and culture. In proportion, only few students had the opportunity to travel, but thanks to this, many more families and students could participate. Moreover ethnical meals will be organized and eveybody will have the opportunity to taste flavors typical from every town or country. During the meetings, visits to the main cultural heritages, Science and Art walks in the towns, and conferences have been organized.During the meetings, there were working sessions where students from all the countries have participated in the project elaboration, drawn and chosen the logo of the project, presented their final presentations, participated in workshops about the annual topic, built models, always in teams mixing the different nationalities which enabled to measure the work accomplished so far and to reinforce the exchanges between students and with teachers from the different countries. In this way, sudents will gain some skills that they won’t be able to achieve in regular classroom teaching. Videos showing the work accomplished, an electronic booklet, articles ont the schools websites, a model exhibition, the 3 twinspaces are the outcomes of the project.

Skills4Retail - Accelerating the Triple Transition in European Retail through skills. Vision The Skills4Retail project will focus on fast-tracking the ‘Triple Transition’ of Green, Digital and Resilience in the Retail sector, helping retailers to embrace ecommerce and ensuring their new business models are sustainable from the start. The project's goal is to design a new Retail Skills Strategy and VET Training Programme that will address the urgent and emerging skills needs of retailers in the key areas of Digital, Green and Resilience. It will focus on training fresh new talent for the sector through training programmes in VET Schools and Higher Education Institutions, and the reskilling of the existing workforce via work based learning and short-term modular courses. Mission The current and future demand for specialized digital and green skills within the retail sector will not be met by existing education and training programmes. There will not be enough skilled workers to fill the jobs, and they will be competing with digital and other sectors for the best talent. Europe needs an innovative new Retail Skills Strategy that can fast-track the upskilling and reskilling of existing retail employees and managers, students, workers from other sectors, and the unemployed to address the skills gap. The Alliance will work together to design, develop, implement, and disseminate a new Retail Skills Strategy and VET Training Programme that will tackle the immediate and future skills shortages across the sector. Outcomes The Skills Strategy & VET Training Programme will focus on the practical application of Digital, Green and Resilience Skills within the retail sector. The programme will be market and industry demand-led at its core, continuously adapting and evolving to address current and future industry needs and supporting European Retailers to achieve long term growth, competitiveness and sustainability through digital and green transformation.

"The project topic ""Inclusion - a human right"" was dealt with by teachers and students from six European schools. On the one hand, participating students worked on legal, ethnic, structural and social requirements of inclusion. Thus students could clearly see that no individual should be ostracised or marginalised in society and they have learned that all individuals are endowed with a life-long right to take full part in social life on the basis of self-determination and equal opportunities. On a more practical note, on the other hand, participating students, teachers and stakeholders elaborated various ways of putting inclusion into practice, namely in the fields of schools, sports, kindergarten and local communities. The exchange between partner schools required a sufficient command of ICT skills in order to facilitate planning, implementing, documenting and presenting work on the topic. Furthermore, team work and willingness to communicate as well as openness played a major part in the project, both on a national and international level. To that effect, working parties were established the task of which being the coordination of communication processes interpersonally as well as internationally with the participating teachers functioning as advisers.A common platform will be provided in the form of a dropbox/cloud. This way, it guaranteed access to information and results relevant to the project in German, French, Italian and English. By working with all stakeholders from the partner schools, the students have increase their foreign language skills and have gained knowledge of international teaching methods and studying techniques. In the framework and course of this project, students were in close contact with local and national administration and authorities and researched different approaches to inclusion. The students were in charge of documenting the project and they also presented their findings and preliminary as well as final results to fellow students, teachers and parents and local/regional bodies. Processes and events of the ongoing project were published in the local and regional press. The main result for Edith-Stein-Schule was the creation of guidelines for an inclusion policy the content of which can be found on the website of the school. Another equally important result was an interactive map of the city of Neunkirchen which shows accessible ways throughout the city."

"Education for democracy is a task of growing social urgency. John Dewey already emphasized: ""Without democracy in everyday life, representative democracy is undermined"". The rise of populist and right-wing extremist movements throughout Europe, globalization and migration, as well as digitalization, challenge our democracy. Democracy seems to us to be a normal part of everyday life in society. The younger generation is often not aware that the rights we have today were fought for. However, democracy must be ""learned"". Schools must face up to this task by giving pupils the opportunity to experience participation, involvement and responsibility. It is also possible to identify competencies that promote democratic behaviour, such as empathy/change of perspective, openness, taking a standpoint, conflict management, etc. These should also be indirectly conveyed in the project. This project wants to inspire young people for democracy. It is intended to make them aware of the factors that determine democracy and to show them the possibilities of participation. The future pedagogues play an important role as multipliers. In this way, the foundations for democracy-promoting skills are already laid in kindergarten. The two-year project ""Mach mit- Wie kann Schule zur Demokratiebildung beitragen"" (Join in - How can schools contribute to democracy education) would first like to examine the concepts of ""democracy"" and ""participation"" theoretically and understand them in the history of ideas. The comparison of different developments and opportunities for participating in decision-making in the individual partner countries will sharpen one's own judgement and help to better identify antidemocratic tendencies. The project, which is integrated into regular lessons, thus not only strengthens the European dimension of the school, but also aims to promote greater participation in school and civil society involvement as concrete results. Four secondary schools and one vocational school from five different countries (Poland, Romania, Belgium, Italy and Germany) are participating. The primary working languages will be English and French."
