The general objective of the INNO EEN-M project is to increase the economic returns from innovation and enhanced innovation management capacities of the Macedonian SMEs through offering a standardised set of coaching and innovation management services while ensuring synergy with other services of the Enterprise Europe Network in Macedonia (EEN-M). The project aims to deliver 13 (thirteen) 7-day service packages: 10 package services will be provided to SMEs with significant innovation activities and high potential for internationalization and 3 packages for the SME instrument beneficiaries. As the national consortium is responsible for providing services at whole territory of the country, this project will also cover the same area. The services will be delivered by three innovation experts/Key Account Managers (KAM) from UKIM, member of EEN Macedonia. The INNO EEN-M project is highly related to the call for Enterprise Europe Network – Horizon 2020 (2019) and will provide necessary tools, knowledge and experience to the EEN-M for implementation of the specific activities in the context of innovation support. The activities within the project are organized in two work packages: key account management (KAM) for the beneficiaries of the SME instrument, FTI and FET-Open and enhancing SME innovation management capacities for innovating SME independently from a specific project. The selection of SMEs will be done based on identified criteria whereas services will be delivered in line with the specific common format with the packages. The team will use the IMP³rove tool as an assessment tool. The KAM will undertake needs analysis/coachcom tool to support SMEs in selection of lead coach. The planned duration of both work packages is 12 months (2019). The services, benefits and experiences from these activities will be part of internal evaluation. The beneficiaries of these activities will be also used for identification of potential needs for training in the future.

The project supports the policy dialogue including formal meetings, monitoring and agenda setting, capacity building and implementation of the EU's Western Balkan Agenda, as well as the aligning of thematic priorities. It implements regional pilot activities and upgrades an information hub based on the wbc-rti.info platform. 14 partner organisations, representing network nodes in the region and EU expert organisation, support policy dialogue through ministerial meetings, Steering Platform meetings and ad-hoc policy meetings. They provide analytical evidence via monitoring and mapping activities (of the stakeholder ecosystem, implementation of the Western Balkans Agenda and integration to the European Research Area) and foresight. POLICY ANSWERS also allows for tailored and targeted capacity building activities in the Western Balkans as well as regional alignment in relation to the digital transformation, the green agenda and towards healthy societies. Pilot activities provide learning opportunities on policy and programme level and reach out to final beneficiaries related to improved academia-industry cooperation, researcher mobility, youth, promotion of research infrastructures and increased innovation skills in all areas. The project builds on existing information hubs (for example, wbc-rti.info) and continues services such as regular newsletters, media relations, production of infographics and multimedia content. Special emphasis will be put on the inclusion of underrepresented groups and the coordination with key stakeholders and international organisations.
