Peace and respect to diversity are core value of the European Union and fundamental to the development of the individual and to ensuring social cohesion and societal wellfare. The project places great emphasis on the acquisition of the positive, life affirming values European citizenship encompasses, such as respect for human rights, tolerance, active non-violence, cooperation and social responsibility. The project’s main goal is to promote empowerment, participation, active citizenship and social cohesion, with main focus on disadvantaged youth and young people at risk of exclusion, as it places great emphasis on the acquisition of the positive, life affirming values European citizenship encompasses, such as respect, tolerance, active non-violence, cooperation and social responsibility. The project focused on fostering specific individual attitudes and behaviors, such as trust, respect for others, confidence in the causal relationship of individual effort - personal success and fulfillment – societal welfare, thus empowering young people and promoting inclusive education and social cohesion and tolerance. Our objective was to create a toolbox, with pedagogical materials, promoting a cross-curricular approach to European Values education, thus promoting increased cross–disciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration on developing appropriate training methodologies and agreeing specific learning outcomes. The project involved around 3500 direct and indirect participants(less than officially scheduled, due to the Covid-19 crisis) through the different activities and tools, composed of youth workers, trainers and young people. The most important results achieved during the project are the following: 1. The Learning matrix which completed in depth analysis of the current state of the art in partner countries, consulted the views of teachers, school administrators and students in the issues subject to the project, and finalizes the methodological framework of the educational programme, encompassing the awareness - knowledge - skill dimensions, as well as content, quality and combination of approaches, tools and media to be used in adressing each of the above stated dimensions of learning . 2. EVER Training Course which can be considered the main output of the project and is composed of 6 learning modules encompassing topics such as citizens and human rights, democracy and dictatorships, unity and division, European union and European integration. 3 A multilingual educational web platform was created, open for contributions from the public. It serves multiple purposes: - Official web page for the project; - An educational resource, containing the guidelines to the approach implemented in the project’s training, the methodology, the training program, the results and the analysis of the results achieved by the series of trainings; - a communication platform for intercultural communication and exchange of good practices - an e-library containing useful links and resources related to transversal skills and competences learning and teaching 4. A training kit containing the two training resources(course for students and teachers guide) that were produced in both printable and electronic form, in order to allow large use of the training methodology, and equip youth workers and trainers with the necessary tools and approaches to implement it. 5. A C1 international training event for teachers youth workers was also implemented in order to directly train target group representatives from one side, and to monitor, evaluate and improve the methodology with regards to the results achieved during the trainings, and the participants feedback. . The tools and approaches that were developed and used during the project provided teachers with a coherent but multifaceted methodology of raising awareness on important issues, active learning and generation of new knowledge through interactive exchange, and practical demonstration and application of the latter. Thus the project equipped teachers with competences and methods needed for transferring the common fundamental values of our society particularly to the hard to reach young people and to prevent social isolation.

The core values for which the motto of the European Union-United in Diversity - stands are fundamental for ensuring lasting peace, social cohesion and societal welfare. With this project we aim to engage young people in exploring the concept of Unity in Diversity in specific application areas, thus demonstrating the concept meaning, validity and practical application through the political and societal structures and mechanisms European society is built upon. In the wake of the recent crises (Economic crisis, Refugee crisis, Brexit), the challenges the Union is confronted to, have resulted in the rise of Eurosceptism, Extreme Right Movements, raise in hate speech, intolerance, discrimination and racism. With this proposal, we aim to introduce a combination of informal training approaches, tools and instruments in order to assist young people to understand, orientate themselves and find fulfillment in an increasingly diverse and pluralistic society. With this project we aim to engage young people in exploring the concept of Unity in Diversity in specific application areas, thus demonstrating the concept meaning, validity and practical application through the political and societal structures and mechanisms European society is built upon. The main target groups of the project are both young people at risk of exclusion (ethnic minorities and immigrants) and young people, representatives of the majority population (with the main focus on the ones tending to support Eurosceptic and extreme right movements). The most important results to be expected during the project and on its completion are the following: 1. The We Belong Training Course with modules, organized following major societal challenges, which affect our society.2. A multilingual educational web platform will be created, which will host the interactive e-learning modules according to the training program and an intuitive digital storytelling tool, which will allow to participants to create powerful digital stories and social campaigns and share them with the world. 3. A training kit containing two training resources that will be produced in both printed and electronic form, in order to allow large use of the training methodology, and equip other teachers, trainers and young people with the necessary tools and approaches to implement it. 4. A six months long pilot training course will be organized in each country as part of the project, with the participation of 10 young people per country, which will allow us to involve representatives of the target groups directly in the development of project and thus make sure the results are achieved. 5. Two international training events, one for youth workers and one for young people, will be also implemented in order to directly train target group representatives from one side and to allow us to test, evaluate and improve the methodology with regards to the results achieved during the trainings, and the participant's feedback. The activities of the Project are expected to lead young people to:- discover the meaning , importance and significance of the concept of “Unity in Diversity”, as well as it’s practical application through the societal and political structures of our society. - acquire positive, life affirming values European citizenship encompasses, such as respect for human rights, tolerance, active non-violence, cooperation and social responsibility- acquire specific social, civic and intercultural competences which will allow them to be the drivers of positive social change, to actively participate in society and gain a sense of political efficacy'- strengthen their sense of initiative, notably in the social field- express their opinions to and influence elected policy-makers, public administrations, interest groups, civil society organisations, or individual citizens within any of the political or social processes affecting their lives- empower them to gain a better understanding of society and why it is the way it is, how ideals, social and political institutions have emerged and gain better understanding of complex multi-level governance- encourage empathy with people with different cultural and ethnic background thus increasing their inter-cultural awareness and cultural competences- improve their creative problem solving skills through the different perspectives applied to the same problem to reach solutions.

School Children subjected to Adverse Childhood Experience(ACEs), frequently exhibit a series of undesirable attitudes and behaviors, and often face significant difficulties in engaging and integrating in the school learning environment. Consequentially, they often struggle with poorer learning outcomes compared to their peers, often leading to leaving the educational systems prematurely. While significant effort has been done in most of the EU countries, the main shortcomings are in the following areas:-poor and/or untimely identification and detection of victims of ACEs. -insufficient coordination between educational institutions, social, child protection, mental health and family services-insufficient coordination and cooperation between educational institutions, public services and other relevant actors in the field, such as research centers, civil society organizations and professionals in the fields of social inclusion, family and child support, mental health, and behavioral and learning support. In the context of the above described challenges, the current proposal aims to contribute to the already ongoing effort to find solutions through:-Improving timely detection of warning signs and behaviors in school, through increasing the awareness and competence of educational and administrative staff in schools and learning institutions- improving the capacity of school teachers, administrators and educational support staff to adress issues arising from disruptive behavior successfully, thus creating a safer and more inclusive learning environment for all learners - Increasing the capacity of relevant institutions to provide adequate and timely support through improving the communication and cooperation between relevant stakeholders(educational authorities, social and child protection, health services, famillies etc.), -supporting engagement and reintegration into the learning environment through dedicated pedagogical approaches based on positive behavioral reinforcement methodolgies and non-formal learning approaches, in order to improve victims’ learning outcomes, minimize risk behaviors and prevent early school leaving. The project will develop an e-platform for children, and two innovative training tools targeting children/teens subject to ACEs, and teachers/educators/school staff, in order to improve children's learning outcomes from one side, and teachers skills and competences in supporting these learners with this type of disadvantage. A three-months long pilot training course for teachers will be carried out locally as well as two international training events - one for staff members of the participating organisations and one for school teachers. The project will directly involve about 100 teachers and educators, 180 children, aged 6- 12 yo, through the activities as well as around 500 indirect participants. The project will assist children subjected to ACEs to receive adequate and continuous support ; acquire specific transversal skills and competences which will allow them to successfully pursue education and reduce significantly their risk of dropping out of education; strengthen their sense of initiative, and motivation to continue with education, and improve their educational and vocational outcomes. The project will also provide teachers and educators with an innovative learning methodology, available in both physical and digital formats and ready to use in the classroom with pupils.
