The figure of Leonardo da Vinci, on the 500th anniversary after his death, will be the common theme of our project. As stated by his biographers, he was the greatest representative of Renaissance thinking, for his innumerable contributions to the fields of art, engineering, urban planning, human anatomy, science. Most of these fields are the basis of our educational curriculum, which we will develop across our curricular project together with the teaching departments aiming to analyze his work as well as his applications in the 21st century. Certainly, this is an innovative educational proposal since it enables European students and teachers to integrate a genius such as Leonardo da Vinci within the teaching and learning process. Many times, Science and Art come together but we do not interrelate the benefits of both fields as we should. That is why the development of this project can lead us to the accomplishment of the following objectives: -Stimulate European students’ creativity in the fields of Art and Science, following the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. At the same time, encourage them to use and develop their artistic and analytical skills, guiding them towards proposals that enable the development of more accessible and sustainable cities.-Foster interdisciplinarity to enable logical thinking, which is necessary to acquire a good balance between social and scientific skills. Our motivation for this project is to support the development, transfer, and implementation of innovative experiences, as well as to integrate initiatives that foster cooperation, peer learning and educational exchanges among European countries. The project will be carried out by Spain, Bulgari, Italy and Poland, promoting interculturality, interdisciplinarity and the use of languages and new technologies as a means of communication. Providing our students values such as equality, diversity, fellowship and co-education. We also aim to facilitate our students being connected and involved in tasks that reinforce cooperation and synergy, always bearing in mind the underlying European values, which highlight critical thinking as well as media and information literacy. In the same way, the project seeks the use and implementation of the “European Portfolio of Languages” as well as the “Portfolio for Teaching Digital Competence”, which participants will be filling in along the duration of the project. The use of “Information and Communication Technologies” will be required in order to boost their abilities to retrieve, process and communicate information: use of computers, multimedia applications, and other audiovisual means at reach. Applying these abilities in the eTwinning platform, allowing self-learning and being able to communicate their learning and experiences, making useful contributions to modern society. We must insist in the need of working in gender diverse groups, highlighting the role of women in the different knowledge areas and promoting the interest of students, especially females, in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We believe that focusing our project from an interdisciplinary and global approach, we can develop the educational curriculum in a highly motivating and enriching way, respecting the diversity of the participants and the needs of our environment. We can also improve the knowledge of our history and heritage and consequently, recovering our cultural identity of a united Europe. We pretend to achieve this goal by following these stages: 1.The Teaching Departments will collect, select and classify as much information as possible about the different aspects of Leonardo da Vinci’s biography, period, works and studies from bibliography, scientific papers, paintings, etc. We divide tasks by heterogeneous groups. 2.Analysis and study of some of his works, by using altogether mockups, drawings, posters, photography contest and essays in Spanish, focusing on Leonardo da Vinci’s character and interactive playing.3.Relationship of the personality, work and period of Leonardo with the XXI century, by carrying out various activities programmed and coordinated by the project partners, published in the TwinSpace, a fundamental tool for the work and communication between the parties involved.4.Spreading of the project by means of exhibitions of all the students’ projects, which will be shown to the entire Educational Community, local communities, in addition to the affiliated schools and the organizations and entities willing to participate. Moreover, dissemination on social networks, press and television, as well as on a homegrown Digital Magazine we plan to publish along the development of this program.

Our project has been developed in four neighbouring European counties, which have excellent communications, a common history, as well as a common future. Each one of our centres has got a different profile, which has not only enriched the others, but has also provided knowledge, experience and working procedures. The tasks, which we have done together, have improved the project. All of the teachers and students have been able to learn other ways to work on the same topic. We started out by researching on the Latin origins of each country and this point leaded us to its current situation as we studied the industry, the concern for the environment, the diet, the economy, the scientific and technological development and language of each country. The objectives of our Project were the following: To contribute to the development of European citizens who will be active and involved in the Europe of today without forgetting their own roots; To favour intercultural exchanges; To promote the activities that would enable the teachers and the students to work in teams, cooperating with the colleagues from other countries, so that they could express their own ideas while they respect diversity; To contribute to oral and written competence of our country and that of the other participating countries. That is, Spanish, French, English, Portuguese and Italian; To learn to improve the use of Information Technologies as a means of communication and disclosure of our work; To promote interdisciplinary and transnational activities; To encourage integration while respecting cultural and linguistic diversity; To exchange teaching experiences between the teachers, as well as the possibility of adapting them to our school; To promote the mobility of the students through exchanges. An average of about 70% of the students of the four schools have participated actively. The four schools which have participated are:•The Etablissement des Soeurs de Notre-Dame in Namur (Belgium) has 600 Francophone students aged 12 to 18, who study Secondary Education in four differnt branches of knowledge.•The Liceo Piero Gobetti in Génova (Italy) is a public secondary school. The students are aged from 14 to 19 and may choose from the following options: Languages, Social Science, Ballet and Human Science.•Escola Profissional Cisave de de Guimarães (Portugal), was founded in 1991 and it provides secondary vocational training. This school has 13 classes in the áreas of Information Technology, Tourism, Communication/Marketing and Advertising, 3D Digital Design and Commerce.•IES JAIME II in Alicante (Spain) is a public school where Secondary Education (Educación Secundaria Obligatoria) as well as Bachillerato, in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities or Technology and Science, can be studied. Our students are aged from 12 to 18.Besides the short-term mobilities and our participation in the Multiplying Events, all the activities which had been programmed, have taken place. After carrying out all of these activities, we have developed the following intellectual products which have been published on the project website:https://sites.google.com/site/proyectoerasmus20142016/These are:Webpage “Our Origins”; Recipe book: “What’s for Dinner?”; Tourist guide about “New Tabarca”; Exhibitions about the Environment; Two series of lectures; A photograph contest and exhibition; A book “Study of Our Student’s Work opportunities”; Webpage: “Economy; Webpage: “Young people in 21st century Europe”; Learning Units and SurveysWe used an active methodology. Our students had to search and organize the information so as to produce the documents of the exhibitions and all the other work (books, websites..), always supervised by the teachers. This was reinforced by visits to the cities, industries, museums, and participation in conferences and meetings. Furthermore, we have always been in contact using the Information Technologies. Our results have exceeded the expectations we had when applying for the project. Therefore, the impact on the different educational communities and on other sectors of the population has been enormous thanks to an active and innovating methodology based on the use of I.C.T, modern languages and a supranational conception. As expected, there has been an improvement in the languages used, as well as in I.C.T. Another one of our goals that has been acquired was to open our students’ minds. The benefits in the long run have become a fact for our students: a greater knowledge of the countries that surround us, contact with other educational systems and the promotion of mobility among students and teachers. Furthermore, the products that we have developed can be used by anyone, not only in the educational world, but in any other area not connected to it.
