The main aim of DEKOLLA project was to enhance and renew the work among immigrants. Indeed, to be integrated in a new society is a process that can be long if the receiving country not have a good structure to meet the needs. To make it possible for them to step into the labour market, it is important to identify and reduce the barriers for participation through informal channels through which they learn more about the local labour market and the local business environment. The project focus was both on providing the informal educators new skills and competences to develop new and more effective ways through which engaging both the migrants and the local business community in more effective learning processes leading to a faster inclusion in the local economic context. The general objective of DEKOLLA Project was to develop innovative strategies to involve the business community in the inclusion of migrants in the local society. In particular, specific objectives were: 1. To create networks between migrants and businesses 2. To increase the recruitment base for local companies 3. To increase knowledge and awareness about the dynamics of the local business environment and labour market. The project partnership involved 5 organisations from 3 European countries: Sweden, Italy and Germany. All the countries involved were, at the time, facing strongly the migration wave to Europe. The partnership organized three Transnational Project Meetings and three Training Seminars. The Training Seminars were attended overall by 66 persons. All the participants at the three seminars had a similar background and profile. Indeed, the partners involved in the project activities educators active in the field of integration of migrants in the different local contexts. The 1st Seminar has been a 4 days meeting dedicated to the presentation of partners' experiences in the creation of innovative communication tools to inform refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in general about the entrepreneurial background in which they live and the opportunities that can be offered. It was attended by 24 persons. The 2nd Seminar was dedicated on the methodologies to be used by refugees to be inserted in the job market. Particular attention was paid to the creation of support Networks. It was attended by 20 persons. The 3rd seminar was on the basis of C1 and C2 and was shaped on the basis of the feedback emerged locally during the dissemination meetings. It was held online due to the Covid-19 emergency and it was attended by 22 persons. The Seminar was aimed at presenting the work done by Consorzio Fantasia and in other Italian realities with a focus on the key elements that can used by the partners and adopted at Eu level to promote the inclusion of immigrants in the labor market. The Seminars were the key to the development of the main result of the project: the identification of three key elements that facilitate the integration of migrants in the labour market. The three key elements are:Need based training: It is desirable to have training tailored to the needs of migrants. Too many courses, trainings and formations are “ready-made” for local / domestic people. They do not consider the different countries (and cultures) migrants come from, the different level of education and the variety of previous knowledge among them. Often, also the number of participants in trainings is too high to be able to address their different needs. It is crucial to get a deep analysis of both, the requirements of the local labour market and of the person’s knowledge and skills. -Bridge builders: A Bridge Builder is someone who enables integration in the working environment matching refugees' and companies’ needs. The realization of this objective and the creation of a direct contact between immigrants and locals will trigger a gradual change of opinion, putting the bases for an open and inclusive society. In this project, the two main functions of the Bridge Builder were exemplified by the collaboration between Consorzio Fantasia and Innovation Farm. They organized and performed interviews to evaluate immigrants' professional skills.-Networks and platforms: Social support networks are expected to facilitate immigrants’ integration into their host countries. Through the exchange of experiences between DE, IT and SE, we have seen that a common factor is the establishment in the labour market and society through informal and formal networks and platforms. The target group of the project were: informal trainers for newly arrived people with different ethnical background, asylum seekers and refugees; Civil Servants in local authorities; business community representatives; refugees and asylum seekers. The main impact of the project on the participants and their organizations can be summarised as an increased awareness of the role of tutors in helping beneficiaries enter the labour market and as an improvement of the quality of the services offered.

The context in which this project originates is deeply connected to the efforts of the EU for the development of a European Education Area by 2025 where spending time abroad to study and learn should become the norm. The project starts off from the need to promote a fundamentally new approach towards transnational mobility opportunities for upper secondary school students in which the school plays a more active role in driving the process while offering high quality learning experiences and ensuring recognition of the period(s) spent abroad.
