The ARROW Project (Improvement of Research and Innovation Skills in Mongolian Universities), aimed to contribute to the promotion and strengthening of scientific writing skills and results visibility in Mongolian Universities. The project Consortium is composed by four European institutions and twelve Mongolian Universities.Through an extensive training program, ARROW provided a wide group of researchers, belonging to Mongolian Partner HEIs, with a set of theoretical and practical content aimed at improving research, publication and intellectual property skills. As a result of this program, beneficiaries acquired not only technical skills related to using a scientific database, selection of the most appropriate journal where to publish or International regulations for patent registration; but they also received training and advices on soft skills necessary for successful publication of research results. In this sense, through several courses, workshops and personalized mentoring, ARROW beneficiaries acquired the right skills for an appropriate communication with referees of quality journals, as well as for a problem solving mentality at time of publication and for the establishment of a productive relationships with partners and colleagues. Such effort continues, beyond the end of the project, through the fruitful collaboration, initiated thanks to ARROW, between European and Mongolian academics and researchers.

The project focused on the training and building up the capacity of management and governance in order to improve the higher education sector in the involved countries so that it can face the new challenges brought by globalization and the knowledge society. The aim is not only to increase higher education quality and accountability, but also to close the gap with developed and emerging countries. This challenge needs creative and innovative approaches to higher education institutions but also highly motivated, trained and dedicated managers at HEIs. The general objective of the project is to to contribute to the modernization and reform of the management system within HEIs in three Asian countries (MN, VT, CB) and to strengthen the competencies of top and middle managers of these institutions. More specifically, the project aims at introducing Information Management Systems (IMS), upskilling human resource (HR) and financial management staff and facilitating administration and student enrolment processes. Likewise, the project will establish project management offices as an approach to change management through a strategy that addresses the unique challenges of each HEI.The project redefines effective change leadership and management for HEIs where it requires leaders who can facilitate a complex process of transformation – not only in the core higher education activities of learning and teaching, research and engagement but also in how the university operates, in its culture, governance, structure and how it positions itself and supports staff and students. The project will serve as a reference in the country for inclusive leadership education . The project helps to integrate the efforts of a wide variety of players at every level from academia, operations and administration, and help reshape unsupportive or unaligned systems, structures, funding mechanisms, leadership roles and performance indicators.

The project aims at rethinking education in humanities in Russia and Mongolia in line with EU standards, research and practices to catch up with the latest trends of the labour market and reinforce education in humanities by adopting digital methods of research and education. Proposal follows the idea that graduates with degrees in Arts and Humanities demonstrate high levels of soft skills development (demanded by potential employers), however, may lack digital skills traditionally associated with STEM programmes. Current state of affairs suggests the significance of harmonious development of both types of skills. Hence, the project is designed to achieve the following:1.Development of innovative education methodology based on research and education methods of humanities, digital humanities and STEM (compiled in online manual);2.Trainings to equip HEIs’ teachers with innovative methods of the EU countries and facilitate professional growth;3.Development, launch and piloting of multi-disciplinary Master degree programme with international student exchange opportunities;4.Creation of Digital Lab (virtual platform) which unites students, university teachers and researchers in international small-scale projects aimed at preserving and promoting cultural heritage;5.Promotion of innovations in education in humanities reinforced by STEM methods and tools via collaboration with cultural sector of labour market and joint small-scale projects of the Digital Lab.As a result, teachers will improve their professional skills and adopt new methods of teaching multidisciplinary courses. Students will get advantage of development of the EU framework competences and curriculum comprised of innovative courses that unite humanities and STEM for increasing their employability after graduation. External stakeholders (museums, galleries and other cultural institutions) will benefit from employees with high level of competences to meet the requirements of the digital age.
