assignment_turned_in ProjectFrom 2025Partners:Hanze UASHanze UASFunder: Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) Project Code: 40.5.25865.480Many students in social and applied social sciences programs have experienced significant events, such as mental health issues, loss, or boundary violations. These experiences can be valuable in their future professions but are still insufficiently utilized in current curricula. This project integrates experiential knowledge as a full-fledged knowledge source in the Social Work, Applied Psychology, and Associate Degree programs. Students learn to professionally apply their personal experiences, contributing to recovery, connection, and inclusive education. By structurally integrating experiential knowledge, students are better equipped to connect with the experiences and needs of the people they work with.

The use of (more) informal care and volunteers is seen as an important key to maintaining the quality of care for vulnerable people in society. However, this requires a lot from carers and volunteers. Preventing overload through good support and cooperation with informal carers and volunteers is therefore of crucial importance. The Informal Care platform aims to optimize this support and cooperation by initiating innovations in research, education and practice and prioritizing the theme on the national policy agendas.

Central to this are the views of residents and their energy initiatives: What do residents think are qualities at the area and village level? How do you want to deal with this in the context of the energy transition? Which concrete projects can they develop from this? For the implementation of this program they like to use the integral methodology as described in the workbook “WIJ DOONT! Putting energy together in our valuable buildings, villages and landscapes”.

This collaboration produced films and texts. Approaching youths as people and makers transparantly can work, as well as letting them lead. More scientific support would help expansion of this method.
