The exposure of refugees and migrants to the risks associated with population movements – psychosocial disorders, reproductive health problems, higher newborn mortality, nutrition disorders, drug abuse, alcoholism and exposure to violence – increase their vulnerability to both communicable and the infectious diseases. The key issue with regard to the infectious diseases is the interruption of care, due either to lack of access or to the decimation of health care systems; displacement causes interruption of the continuous treatment that is crucial for chronic conditions. The vulnerable individuals, especially children, could be infected with infectious vector-borne diseases because of poor living conditions, suboptimal hygiene, and deprivation during migration.Consequently, the vision of the here proposed project is creating a training program in Europe notably Turkey in order to prevent the infectious vector-borne diseases which are associated with increased immigration and especially caused by reducing hygiene.Considering that healthcare personnel availability depends on different factors such as the size of the centre, number of people living in the centre, the geographical isolation of the centre and funding availability, the concrete project objectives, referring to the vision above, are; -providing an opportunity to enhance the overview of what EU and the candidate states of EU do, their impact, and other key statistics of the needs of migrants, in order to provide a global picture of migration.-constituting a stronger knowledge base on migration, including through global research on needs, trends and other common factors of migrants,-providing an opportunity to further share learning across regions while sharing of learning occurs through national border networks-improving the skills and knowledge of the trainers who service to solve or reduce the public health issues through more scientific view and understanding,-making a contribution to social integration among the migrants and host societies across Europe.Since the main goal of the project is creating a training program in Europe notably Turkey in order to prevent the infectious vector-borne diseases which are associated with increased immigration, the project should be carried out transnationally.

"European Union, through its politics, make efforts to fully integrate persons with intellectual disability into society. According European Commission: ""Everyone has the right to quality and inclusive education, training and life-long learning that develops key competences and basic skills. Key competences and basic skills are needed by all for personal fulfilment and development, employability, social inclusion and active citizenship.""The determinant of inclusion of adults with intellectual disability is the quality of life of this group. The quality of life of these people concerns areas such as: independent living, work, interpersonal and social skills, security and others. Thus, the system of education and support for people with intellectual disabilities must be constantly developed. Today's world is being more and more based on the internet, social media, digital equipment and mobile apps. Ability to use the Internet, finding information, resources and interact with others is becoming a daily necessity and is becoming a basic skill required even in workplaces that do not require any specific qualification. Adults with intellectual disability, as the rest of society, use smartfons, tablets, less often smartwatches with internet access. But, as shows short research made by partners, the possibility which are delivered by devices in connection with internet are hardly used. What more, teachers/trainers have really low knowledge on how this chance can be used in educational process.BYOD - ""Bring Your Own Device"" is a method used in university education and in business. Partners of the project found this idea promising in education and therapy of adults with intellectual disability leading to entering to labour market. First of all the method is attractive, motivating and gives new, useful and well accepted in society skills. Second, there are applications which can be useful not only in searching job, but also in its maintaining. The project target groups are teachers, trainers, coaches of adults with intellectual disability. In the project new methodology will be elaborated and proposed to be included in professional activity. This group will be equipped with a large set of materials and courses plus possibility to exchange experiences with other professionals. Second target group are adults with intellectual disability who are not participants of formal education and they have a developmental opportunity to work.Project objectives are:creating equal opportunity - elaborated methodology on how to apply new technologies in educational process brings equality in using ICT;promoting independent living - better preparing for job, motivating and ability to maintain job leads to independency in everyday life;delivering new methodology which can be applied in efficient education of persons with intellectual disability - improving and enhancing educational offer of different centers supporting persons with intellectual disability.Project is focused on elaborating new educational methodology and delivering materials and courses to both target group. In the project partners will::- create a handbook for teachers with list of useful mobile applications, methodology ""BYOD leading to increased employability"" description, scenarios of classes;- create set of materials in easy to read text about how and what for You can use Your mobile device;- organize course for teachers ""How BYOD method and mobile equipment can increase employability of persons with intellectual disability"";- prepare set of webinars presenting how to use BYOD in different fields of independent life of persons with disability (self-presentation, finding a way, etc.);- prepare MOOCs for teachers' trainers, teachers working with persons with intellectual disability, adults with intellectual disability and entrepreneurs presenting persons with intellectual disability as potential employees. The partnership is created by organizations supporting persons with intellectual disability in fields of education, applied ICT, employment, independent living from Poland (PSONI), Greece (Margarita), North Macedonia (Association ActivUM), Spain (Fundacio Espurna) and University Harran (Turkey) which delivers knowledge on education and training on the university level. The project will introduce a new methodology that develops education leading to employment, and thus indirectly will contribute to increasing employment of people with intellectual disabilities, increasing their inclusion in social life and enabling independent living. Teachers will be able to broaden their offer of education with a modern, attractive proposition. The project will provide packages of valuable materials for teachers and people with disabilities, including digital publications, webinar recordings and MOOCs.The methodology may be developed in the future, new elements may be added enabling contact of employers and people with id who are looking for job."

The MERSCIN (International Mersin Science Night) project proposal sets out to host a European Researchers’ Night in the Turkish Mediterranean coastal city of Mersin. Sixteen participating organisations will take part - one Austrian and fifteen Turkish together with the involvement of a wide range of stakeholders comprising high level officials, universities and public figures. The main aims of the proposal are to increase public awareness about science and the work of researchers and to bridge the gap between scientists and the general public, to actively promote science and research as a vitally important and rewarding career path for the young generations participating and to instill greater environmental awareness in citizens and impart the need to protect dwindling local habitats from the ongoing mass urbanisation whilst also convincing the participating stakeholders of the same issues. Ultimately through hosting this event we would aim to create a platform formed by strong public opinion gained from the increase of awareness during the event, towards pressurising local governmental bodies towards the establishment of a Science Centre. The objectives will be achieved by exposing a large cross section of the public and in particularly schoolchildren and youths to a rich diversity of disciplines in science and by creating a festival spirit amongst participants. Because the European Researchers’ Night is a huge annual event in many European cities attendees will feel the excitement of being able to take part in this multi-national NIGHT, especially providing motivation for the young generations to become involved in science. The ability to host a Researchers’ Night event in Mersin would provide a range of benefits to this rapidly developing city which in recent years has seen a large population increase through immigration from easter Turkish cities and Syria.

"As the focus in education has been changed from teacher-oriented practices to student-oriented activities under the constructivist theory, more emphasis is placed on the self-learning activities in the construction of the knowledge. This understanding introduced STE(A)M and finally has led to visual coding based programming initiatives, being integrated into the EU educational curriculums under robotics and coding activities. Programming is defined as the 21st-century skill in the ""European Commission Strategy Digital Single Market Policies"". And the education system is expected to react to fulfill the need of community's ""825,000 job vacancies"" in 2020. And the technological developments now need another skill, i.e. Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy, whose importance is recently underlined in ""European Commission Strategy Digital Single Market Policies"" with the following points:- The European Commission puts forward a European approach to artificial intelligence and it deals to boost EU's research and industrial capacity and to put AI at the service of European citizens and economy.- Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an area of strategic importance and a key driver of economic development.- It is essential for the European Union to stay at the forefront of this technological revolution, to ensure competitivenessIt is unarguably observed that there is a growing need to integrate AI concepts into the school education curriculums. China and the USA started to develop AI education materials for children. And the catch-phrase of this project is ""AI education for EU children"".As OECD started to pay attention to AI (http://www.oecd.org/going-digital/ai/), it is time to expect several changes in educational curriculums over the EU. One of the key points that declared in the EU Market Policy is as follows ""support digital skills and competencies in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and encourage the Members States to modernize their education and training systems"". It is clear from the above declarations that AI as a big scientific revolution should be integrated into education, NOT ON TERTIARY LEVEL but from EARLY EDUCATION YEARS on. It is declared under HORIZON2020 AI is the new future. The inclusion of AI teaching practices into science education is vital to fulfilling the EU's need for the future's economic (See Ka3 FLCPs Objectives for 2019), and scientific development as reports expect machines to take over mundane tasks of human in the next decades while creating new jobs in artificial systems for new generations.Considering all these facts and the need to start AI today to catch tomorrow, this partnership is composed of partners from Turkey, England and Irelands: ""MCBU, CAPTAN (IBM as associated partner), and CCS DIGITAL (Developers)"", Harran University and MEB YEGITEK (Content Producers), Pobalscoil Neasáin(CESI as associated partner)and Genc STEM Associaton (Pilot Practitioners/Schools). This project group was established to ""integrate Artificial Intelligence into education plans and applications of EU with pilot school studies and online AI platform"". The project will serve 2 years including 2019-2021 with experts partners who came together to serve at least 2000 students (10-18 aged) in partners with pilot AI activities and an online platform where children from any nation practice core skills required for AI and intelligent coding under STEAM methodology. The partners' personnel comprise developers, program managers, researchers, teachers and teacher trainers who are committed to introducing AI into educational circles within a well-structured program and guide. Artificial Intelligence and AI education, STEAM, Gamification/E-learning will be embedded in this program and with the collective experience of partners who will develop a complete ""AI Education for Children"" framework. The training activities will create efficient discussions about the presentation of materials that will develop the perspectives of the teachers to effectively present the material to students. The possible issues, pedagogical problems and related concerns about AI education will be handled during the activities. The European cooperation will surely develop the mentioned capacities and it will hence drive our teachers' and students' motivation positively. The outputs of the project are expected to be as follows:-Providing AI Education Platform for teachers and students-Developing AI Education Framework for teachers, schools and interested decision makers-Making students absorb information with hands-on practices in AI-Enhancing the attention of children in lessons by letting them build their own programs-Guiding children to observe the application of AI concepts in real-world-Enriching programming curriculum with that of AI programming applications -Developing an enjoyable teaching medium with games and visualizations in AI-Developing an AI teaching guide for school"
