MAKSWELL project proposes to extend and harmonising the indicators able to capture the main characteristics of the beyond-GDP approach proposing a new framework that includes them in the evaluation of the public policies. The main goals of the project can be summarized in three main objectives. In particular, the project aims at: 1_building up a database for a wide set of EU countries that select and harmonize the national framework on well-being as well as the available SDG indicators; 2_improving the Database both in relation to the timeliness and to the integration with big data measures and the methodologies able to reach these extensions. Particularly WP2 will extend the actual set of information available on well-being and sustainability to including coherent new data sources (eg big data) able to derive coherent indicators for local analysis and disaggregation for other domain; 3_using the extended Database for policy evaluation and built up a national pilot studies. MAKSWELL project aims at creating a shared knowledge on the state of the art on relevant dimensions of sustainable development and on vulnerabilities and potentialities of society; on the most appropriate traditional and new data collection tools and modern statistical methods to have timely and accurate data. The analysis and summary of the main features of the piloting process will produce recommendations. They will be substantially suggestions and best practices collections to maintain and update the prototype fed by these new and traditional data sources for more focused policy decisions. The knowledge will be built up through the contact and reciprocal fertilization of NSIs, academics and stakeholders, identifying and contacting key practitioners to participate in a virtual Working Group. projects results will also path ways for common research under FP9.

Property data are one of the most valuable datasets managed by governments worldwide and extensively used in various domains by private and public organizations. Unfortunately these data are not always easy to access. House and property data is used in a variety of ways to produce value added information within and across several business sectors, including real estate and debt collection. Such sectors suffer from a lack of innovation due to a fragmented data ecosystem which makes it difficult to access relevant datasets. This hampers innovation, protects incumbents and promotes rent-seeking business models. The difficulty in creating a single, open data market partly depends on the fact that some governmental agencies are currently making significant revenues on selling data to a restricted number of business players in the private sector. However, several studies, demonstrated that the transaction costs for government agencies tend to be very high, and often make selling the data non-profitable. proDataMarket aims to disrupt the property data market and demonstrate innovation across sectors where property data is relevant, by integrating a technical framework for effective publishing and consumption of property-related data, showcasing novel data-driven business products and services based on property data. proDataMarket will provide a digital data marketplace for open and non-open property and related contextual data, making it easier for data providers to publish and distribute their data (for free or for a fee) and for data consumers to easily access the data they need for their businesses. The consortium is formed by large companies ensuring high-impact business cases, technology transfer providers ensuring technologies for the creation and maintenance of the data market platform, and large data providers providing data for the business cases. With strong industry involvement proDataMarket will cover a wide range of data value chains related to property data.

Well before the Great Recession, the strikingly successful socio-economic regime of growth of the three decades after WWII came to an end as the smooth matching among technological innovation, productivity growth, income distribution and aggregate demand increasingly broke down. However, a new virtuous regime is hardly emerging and growth of income and productivity remains sluggish especially in Europe. The project is meant to investigate the causes of the slowdown and to propose an integrated policy package able to sustain an inclusive and welfare-enhancing process of growth resilient to climate change and population aging. In some respects, the proposal represents the deepening of the ‘diagnostic exercise’ we have undertaken in a very successful H2020 project: ISIGrowth http://www.isigrowth.eu/. In many others it extends the scope of the investigation, fully addressing the whole thread of the interaction among innovation, productivity, and growth in a world possibly undergoing a' IV Industrial Revolution', wherein globalization exacerbated the diverging patterns of value distribution among countries and social groups. Together, it will thoroughly study the effects of monetary, fiscal and mission-oriented policies in stimulating productivity and output growth. The team comprises leading international scholars ranging from economics of innovation, industrial dynamics, econometrics, agent-based macroeconomics, and public governance. Crucially a group of National Statistical Offices will join the research, also developing new data and measurements. The policy recommendations will be grounded on solid micro-, meso- and macro analyses, always accounting for the feedbacks between Schumpeterian (supply side) dynamics and Keynesian (demand side) ones. The relevance and adequacy of the proposed policies will be continuously challenged by the interaction with a whole set of stakeholders belonging to European Institutions, civil society, and business.
