Distance education, especially distance learning is a mode of delivering education to students, often using personalized approach. Distance learning provides students to complete the chosen study program irrespective of their disabilities, illness or any other personal reasons that prevent them from attending traditional on-the-ground courses. Another advantage of online learning is that it can be practiced virtually anywhere and anytime provided the learners have a PC and internet access. The current project addresses various segments of the target group, including elderly generation and those who need assistance in formulating their education and training needs. The main aim of the project “Developing EU through online innovation” was to develop seven thematic digital courses in 8 languages English, Italian, Spanish, Latvian, Greek, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Turkish - and disseminate the prepared courses in local communities. Each course consists of 15 units. All courses can be grouped according to the following themes in adult education: (i) career and business life, (ii) personal improvement, (iii) connecting work and private life. Each partner organization was in charge of developing one digital course. •Grobiņa Adult education centre developed program 1 - digital course ""Live online""•G.G. Eurosuccess consulting, LTD worked on creating program 2- digital course “Learn English online” •Superficie 8, LTD developed program 3 - digital course “Career skills advice “•Turgutlu Kaymakamligi was responsible for developing program 4 - digital course “Entrepreneurial skills “•Iniciativas de proyectos de formacion produced program 5 - digital course “IT skills “.•Iniciativi za grajdansko obshtestvo developed program 6 - digital course “Communication and self-improvement “• Eco Center Alapítvány worked on developing program 7 - digital course “Sustainable life “.Apart from the created 7 programs consisting of 15 chapters each, the project partners also organized seminars for adult educators. In each project meeting, there was one seminar, each touching a certain theme of adult education. There were 7 project meetings. The 1st project meeting was devoted to the analysis of the job market in each country. During the next project meetings partners analyzed 3 created chapters of each program. The working language was English and the chapters were created in English. If the chapters were accepted by the partners, they were translated in 7 native languages and placed on the project website www.adultcourses.eu During project meeting 6 alongside analyzing chapters 13 -15, project partners discussed how the created materials will be piloted. A group of adults piloted all the created programs and provided suggestions on how to improve the course materials. After the piloting stage the project partners improved their programs and in May multiplier events were organized in each project partner organization to disseminate the created 7 digital programs to the interested organizations and people. The last project meeting was devoted to summarizing the work done during the project and analysis of the multiplier events. It is expected that the created courses will be included in the list of courses adult centers offer to the public, thus more than a thousand participants will have an opportunity to raise their self-awareness and motivation to acquire new skills through digital learning and to improve their IT skills. That will lead to the sustainability of the produced project intellectual outputs. The created digital distance learning courses will be available to be introduced to any national or international adult education center. Another advantageous aspect of the planned intellectual outputs is that course materials will be prepared in 7 national languages of project partners and will be available to the public at the project website for 5 years. Potential long-term benefits are that the project will increase the educational offer in adult education by providing a new program for social integration process of disadvantaged groups from local to international level. It is also expected that the course participants will develop competencies of the 21st century in the virtual world. Developed intellectual outputs – course materials - will serve as a teaching resource after completion of the project. Another long-term benefit will be collaboration among students, a better relationship between students, teachers, and staff. Thus, also the social climate in the adult centers will have improved."

Upon the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, the EU tourism has been plagued as it dropped by 61% (Eurostat, 2021) negatively impacting the hospitality industry. Accommodations located in rural areas were rather affected by this decline, as they had already been facing challenges due to limited access to training. HERE4you aims at restoring balance as fast as possible, by acting towards attracting tourists to rural European areas. To achieve that, hospitality accommodation owners and employees will acquire the essential skills to improve guest satisfaction and offer unique experiences to tourists. Since raising environmental awareness has become a focus in Europe over the past years and travellers demand more choice regarding ecotourism options (https://bit.ly/3FCmzE2), a very efficient way to attract tourists while protecting the environment is by offering alternative, eco-friendly activities near the accommodation unit.[NEEDS ADDRESSED]Recently, there has been an increasing need for the introduction of new training standards in the hospitality industry due to the numerous newcomers entering the sector as a result of the job displacements and staff shortages that the pandemic brought about (https://bit.ly/3CjF1iv). For the hospitality sector to get back on its feet, quick and immediately usable training solutions that equip hospitality professionals with the essential skills need to be developed. Current needs of the industry include basic service skills and communication between teams. HERE4you will tackle this need by teaching English language and service skills to hospitality professionals, leading not only to improvement of the communication between the staff and the guests, but also to the promotion of international staff mobility within the sector by increasing awareness of the importance of speaking English in accommodation units. Especially in rural areas, where people have limited access to training options, staff upskilling will open the way for new opportunities, such as more revenues and increased mobility. To this direction, another major challenge that needs to be tackled in the hospitality industry is the need for increasing digital competence among the sector’s professionals. Bearing in mind that today’s tourists book accommodation and arrange their vacation mostly through digital means (Wang et al., 2016) the emphasis on employees’ skills to respond to these trends is becoming increasingly important. The current project will help new and existing hospitality professionals in rural areas to become digitally empowered to attract more guests, build strong relationships with them, and become competitive in the global market. Finally, considering the global environmental crisis and the fact that “Europe faces environmental challenges of unprecedented scale and urgency”(https://bit.ly/3jDkdv8), any step towards sustainability is considered valuable and of utmost importance. The European Union, in the context of developing a strategy for sustainable tourism, highlights the importance of promoting ecotourism and rural tourism – especially in the post pandemic era (https://bit.ly/3b3Xvrx). Moreover, ETC sees COVID-19 as a unique opportunity to redefine tourism in Europe and permanently steer it to a more sustainable direction (https://bit.ly/3Ec6QKs). Considering the above, HERE4you will equip the hospitality professionals in rural areas with the knowledge and skills to promote ecotourism in their region. In this way, they reinforce environmental protection and sustainable tourism while promoting their businesses and supporting their local economy by attracting ecotourists.<< Objectives >>HERE4you will develop a complete, web-based training course for hospitality professionals focusing on boosting their English language and service skills, their digital competence and their environmental awareness along with creating an interactive, role-playing game environment aiming at knowledge retention and an interactive mapping tool demonstrating accommodation units and ecotourism possibilities in rural European areas accompanied by an Eco-Guide with instructions on how to use this tool to make the most out of it. Accommodation unit owners and employees will have access to a free, innovative, easily accessible upskilling methodology no matter their geographical location or socioeconomic education. Moreover, VET educators will possess a strong, digital training tool for providing students within the hospitality sector with hands-on, simulation-based training.HERE4you has as main objective to promote the upskilling of hospitality employees working in rural European areas by offering a training approach that entails introduction of hybrid skills, retention through simulation, and development of a new interactive tool with instructions on how to use it. Upon completion of the training, learners will be able to offer a unique service experience to their guests and promote their businesses worldwide while offering environmentally friendly entertaining options. This will attract more tourists and support their local community. In terms of specific objectives, HERE4you will serve the following:- Raising awareness regarding the importance of communication, service, digital and environmental training and upskilling in the hospitality sector, especially in rural European areas.- Providing hospitality professionals and VET institutes with a complete, open access e-learning course, developed to pass new skills to new and existing members of the hospitality sector.- Developing an alternative training approach that promotes skill retention through simulation and role playing on Minecraft.- Reinforcing access to high quality, effective and inclusive training in the digital era regardless of one’s location or socioeconomic situation. - Promoting ecotourism and sustainable activities in rural European areas to tourists worldwide. - Equipping hospitality professionals with the skills to advance their businesses while promoting and supporting local SMEs, rural and ecotourism centers.<< Implementation >>HERE4you will deliver a new training standard for the hospitality industry to be used both by individual professionals and vocational centers that offer hospitality and management programs, comprising an e-learning course, a simulation game to be performed in a digital learning environment and a detailed guide with information on how to utilize an interactive mapping tool to promote ecotourism activities. This will be achieved through a series of constant collaboration between subject matter experts (aka hospitality professionals and environmentalists), game developers to first identify the needs and set the learning objectives, and later implement them in a virtual environment. Role playing helps trainees remember their experiences while gaining new knowledge, so simulation will create everyday working challenges for them to solve within Minecraft. Apart from facilitating the improvement of English and service skills, the game will also familiarize them with the use of digital technology and boost their confidence. Project activities comprise:- National reports developed by the participating countries which will work as a framework presenting best practices, weaknesses and needs for improvement as perceived by hospitality professionals in rural areas. The reports will enlighten the public and raise awareness about the immediate need for staff upskilling in the industry.- The development of an Essential Skills Pack e-learning course: The ESP e-learning course aims at providing a complete solution to hospitality professionals in rural areas by improving their English language and service skills, helping them develop digital competence and promoting environmental awareness. The online, asynchronous lessons will be accessible from everywhere and at any given time.- Minecraft Hotel World: A dedicated custom Minecraft world to help learners retain and practice the knowledge previously gained through elaborated hospitality challenges in the context of a mission to be accomplished.- Mission: The complete game scenario describing the non-player characters (NPCs), the game elements, the walkthrough introducing the different game areas and tasks, the after the game practicing session. - Mapping Tool: the interactive mapping tool will exhibit ecotourism options in various rural European areas and accommodation units that are located nearby.- Eco-Guide: a guide with detailed instructions will be created regarding how to register a hotel in the mapping tool and the ways to combine accommodation with eco-friendly activities.- The results will be tested first internally and then an improved version based on the results of the testing will be subjected to a series of validation activities with the involvement of representatives from the direct target group, mainly professionals in the hospitality industry, ecotourism professionals and VET instructors.- Based on the conclusions of the validation exercises, a final release of the results will be provided towards the end of the project.- A series of Multiplier Events (5) to generate awareness about the launch of the HERE4you project.- Roll out of the results<< Results >>HERE4you will encourage inclusive training focusing on hospitality employees in rural European areas based on the need for communication and service upskilling, as well as digital and ecotourism training in the hospitality sector.Expected tangible outcomes comprise the following:- Essential Skills Pack course will contain modules that will help hospitality professionals to acquire the target skills (improving English language & service skills, developing digital capabilities, and raising ecotourism awareness). - Hotel Minecraft World, enriched with resource packs and mods which will allow interactive, role-playing training.- HERE4you Interactive Map, an interactive mapping tool that will provide accommodation and ecotourism activities available in rural European areas.- An Eco-Guide which will provide interested parties (rural accommodation unit owners, NGOS, environmental organizations, SMEs) with instructions on how to use the interactive mapping tool to register and promote their business.Apart from the direct benefits that are related to the upskilling of hospitality professionals, HERE4you will also:- increase awareness regarding environmental protection and promote sustainability - socioeconomically support rural areas by attracting more tourists - support inclusion, as innovative training methods will become available to people in remote rural regions who face education, training, and employment barriers

Lowering youth unemployment and supporting the engagement of as many young Europeans as possible is at the heart of the EU policy agenda. The most vulnerable subgroup of NEETs is young people with the lowest level of educational attainment. The prevention of being NEETs should start already in the last grade of primary school when pupils are standing in front of one of their most crucial decisions in life: what career path will I take? Do I want to even continue in further education? This project wants to link the point of prevention of being NEET with support to boost the interest of pupils in technical, scientific and mathematical disciplines with a high degree of innovativeness among students of the last grade of primary schools due to the increasing lack of qualified and professionally educated workers in the labour market, particularly in aforementioned disciplines. In most of EU primary schools pupils can consult their career and what personalities are suitable for a given work, however what is usually missing at primary schools is that young students also need to gain more of the motivation, popularization of technically oriented apprenticeships before choosing a further direction of their education. It often happens pupils do not like technically oriented subjects due to lack of popularization and emphasis on the importance, prestige and innovativeness used in technical fields. This is exactly what this project intends to address at a transnational level, ensuring the necessary transfer of best practices from foreign experts focusing on innovative course methods and technical innovations (e.g. 3D printing, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, Internet of things, etc.).The project specifically aims at the creation of the methodology on how to correctly identify the pupils at risks of dropping out of school, demotivating to the next level of education, the associated unemployment, and destined for being future NEET. Partners will exchange best practices on how and according to what characteristics they will identify vulnerable pupils. Process of identification would run with the help of teachers and youth workers as they know the best the background of pupils and are close to their families.Consequently, 6 sets of courses curricula with the innovative method of action learning will be specially created in cooperation with foreign experts and based on transferred best practices. Partners will cooperate also with organisations/SMEs dealing with technical disciplines and new technologies. The result of such cooperation will be the awakening of pupils’ interest in technical education in new fields with a high level of innovation and a certain prestige. This should facilitate their choice of secondary education and prevent them from leaving formal education with completed primary schools. The project believes by the end of the project, at least 40 out of 75 representatives (representing 15% out of total number of involved pupils) will successfully finish with project courses and enrol in secondary vocational education with a focus on any technical field. At the end of the project, partners will organize a final conference in Prague that will aim at raising awareness of NEETs phenomenon at European level and presenting project innovative solution and its success, including project outputs and impacts on the target group.

The European Commission’s outline and guide, the European Green Deal, is the way leading to transforming Europe the first climate-neutral landmass by 2050, scoping in suitability without leaving anyone behind. To reach this 2050 objective, activity will be required by all segments of the economy, counting: contributing to environmentally-friendly innovations; supporting industry to improve; turning into cleaner activities, cheaper and more beneficial shapes of private and open transport; decarbonizing the energy segment; guaranteeing buildings are more vitality effective; working with universal accomplices to progress worldwide natural benchmarks. The only way that the aforementioned objectives may be achieved is by turning climate and natural challenges into real opportunities, by fair and comprehensive activities for all. Reaching this target will require activity by all segments of economy, including investing in environmentally friendly technologies supporting not only industrial but also individual activities to innovate and turning out cleaner.Additionally to the Green Deal approach, Paris Agreement set it clear that in order for the long-term temperature objective to be reached, nations should reach a worldwide reduction of emissions as soon as possible to conclude to a climate-neutral world by mid-century. The Paris Agreement clarifies that bringing all nations into a common cause is a powerful tool to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects. In this line of approach, the idea of completely understanding technology development and transfer for both improving resilience to climate change and reducing Green House Gases emissions (GHG) can only be approached if technological improvements act in accordance to those scopes. Finally, the importance of technological frameworks to act as guidance for environmental pollution reduction, are being underlying. Apart from the ambitions and goals having been set in line with GHG minimization and environmental pollution limitation, the Sustainable Development Goals completes the targets that should be achieved for adding value to human living and environmental survival. The call refers to action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. The organization recognizes that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with procedures that construct financial development and address a route of social needs counting training, wellbeing, social assurance, and work opportunities, whereas handling climate change and environmental protection. Finally, it is of high time to live in a world equal for all, without leaving no one behind. May the world, the research and the innovative techniques get more and more improved but this improvement can not be assumed as important as it would be if it was accessible and reachable from all. Unfortunately, people with fewer opportunities are not always included to the innovative approaches. For that reason, GENTLY can be the milestone for a new innovative EUROPE whose improvements and innovations are accessible to everyone.<< Objectives >>GENTLY focuses on three out of 17 sustainability goals that are the goal number 4 ‘Education’, goal number 12 ‘Sustainable consumption and Production patterns’ and goal umber 13 ‘Taking urgent action to compact climate change and its impacts’. The development of a framework able to simultaneously deal for empowering the actions needed to achieve sustainability goals; is among others a major scope of GENTLY.Accordingly, it is inevitable to act in line not only with Green Deal and Paris Agreement but also with Sustainability goals in order to ensure the well-being and environmental survival. In this line of approach, GENTLY aims to highlight the main pollution parameters, inform the individuals about eco-friendly alternatives to everyday practices and services used, ‘reward’ eco-consciousness companies and services, educate individuals about environmental facts. Finally, it is of urgent importance for an equal Europe and equal world to look forward without leaving no one behind. GENTLY focuses on both youth workers but also people with fewer opportunities. GENTLY tragets at using the available digital means so as to transfer the knowldede about energy efficiency and green deal practices to a wide target group. GENTLY is an innovative energy efficiency maximization-based project that strives for European Union (EU) targets achievement as it is aligned with youth awareness for energy efficiency actions, environmental emissions, and promotion of EU green deal targets and measures for energy efficiency maximization through empowering young people. The main objective of the current project is to offer added value, reclaim international cooperation, and the available digital means for informing and educating the youth in a non-formal playful, and joyful way. The main scope of the project is to create an innovative package of games that will include both board and online games of two levels (easy and professional) to include a wide variety of youth. Therefore, having as target group youth workers and young people (and youth with fewer opportunities), the project’s objectives are: - To conduct research analysis investigating climate change facts and green deal actions scoping in energy efficiency maximization and green deal reclaimed- To design, test, and publish an innovative training game package for youth workers and young people that will guide and support them to provide quality training on target groups (youths and youths with fewer opportunities) on energy efficiency issues - To deliver training courses to train youth workers, in learning processes related to energy efficiency issues, through green deal games-To involve companies in professional games indicating actions for environmental protection align with dissemination elimination and minorities’ support-To exploit as much as possible, partners' experience and skills to result in a highly innovative and useful package of game-based learning package.<< Implementation >>The intention is to work at the very best viable stage of engagement, to ensure happy members between all challenge events, to be aware of information, to respect contributors' distinct expectations, the time and the needs for GENTLY to achieve the desired outcomes. Plenty of time could be allotted to practical activities and to cooperation with appropriate experts. 1. The GENTLY research analysis investigating climate change facts and green deal actions scoping in reducing climate change activities (PR1), which simultaneously examines young people's knowledge and awareness of climate change issues and green deal practices, how they relate to them in different contexts, and how to best engage and participate in local and international actions to address this problem, the Best Practices Guide on Application Game (easy game) (PR2), and a Board Game designed properly also for people with hearing or seeing problems (PR3).2. A minimum of 19 trained (C1) youth workers (2 from each country + at least 5 at the local level) to learn how to use GBL in youth learning about energy efficiency concerns in a C1 short training event for youth;3. A minimum of 26 young people (3 from each nation plus a minimum of 5 at the local level) to participate in GBL procedures in order to improve their knowledge of environmental hazards and green deal practices both locally and globally;4. A minimum of 2 companies (2 from each country) to participate in professional game (PR3) indicating actions for environmental protection align with dissemination elimination and minorities’ support;5. 8 multiplier events (7 multiplier events and 1 Final Conference) to raise awareness of the project, its project results, and outcomes among youth workers and learners, as well as other stakeholders (climate change and sustainable development organizations, youth organizations, policymakers and reformers, youth workers/trainers/educators working with young people, and so on).- Each partner will have the opportunity to learn about GBL as it is practiced in their own country, exchange good practices and experiences, develop common recommendations and guidelines, and improve learning through a fun, motivating, and stimulating GBL environment; - The project will facilitate the collaboration between key people and Youth workers from each partner and the social integration of youth from different countries, cultures, and way of life; - European international mobility of project participants; - Final conference informational material and publications translated into partners’ languages; - Social and media campaigns; - Language and social competence of project participants through active transnational communication and involvement in project activities. A set of activities are also included in the project: -Project Management includes agreements, administrative work, financial and budget control, time management, roles and duties allocation, reporting templates, communication methods, and reporting procedures, where the coordinator will be accountable with cooperation from all partners. -Project Evaluation and Quality Assurance Strategy will be set up at the start of the project and will include a detailed description of the quality and risk management plan as well as quality assurance procedures to ensure the quality of project deliverables. -Dissemination Plan will be developed to define dissemination actions aimed at project stakeholders and the general public. -Sustainability and Exploitation Plan will ensure that the partners may make the most use of the resources generated, both inside the partnership and with other institutions, during and after the project. At the end of the project, findings, package of games will be communicated to new contexts and disciplines of study. The PRs will also be accessible to the public via the project's website. This will allow, in the long run, to further formalize project PRs at the policy, as well as to make established approaches.<< Results >>The project's outcomes are extremely related to the project results and activities completed during the project's implementation period; as main objective of GENTLY is to be formed so as to combine multiplier benefits:The main outcome through GENTLY is to provide EU with a package of tools, through the use of GBL so as to empower young people, aware them about environmental threats and train them about green deal practices for energy efficiency maximization and emission minimization. The consortium will start with the practice of the PRs. The GENTLY area research (PR1) can be the first PR to be produced aiming to research the knowledge of youth about environmental problems and green deal practices so at to maximize energy efficiency and minimize environmental pollution, and the way to achieve the greatest interaction and participation in actions to address this hazards and reclaim practices to save the world. PR2 is a package of both boar games and the application development for providing GBL through digital means. It will include both facts (hazards separated in main categories) and actions (green deal practices) that should be properly allocated so as to result in a net-zero emission world. PR3 is the transformation of both the board game and the application, so for people with fewer opportunities to be able to participate and take advantages of the GBL developed (e.g. audio games, braille code board game etc.). PR4 includes the interaction and the real-time participation of companies with young workers. Companies will have the opportunity to both educate their workers, but also to be given a realistic approach to improve their eco-friendly profile by simultaneously empower people with fewer opportunities. All PRs consist a completed educator’s package framework, innovatively designed, illustrated and tested, so for both the educators and the young people to be able to take advantage of GBL, improve their educational background, broaden their horizons, participating in EU activities that will enrich their skills and awareness, equip them to properly alter and shape both a next generation EU and consequently a new world. In addition to the POs, 5- day quick-time period training events (C1+C2) will be organized. For the duration of the training, the youths will be skilled on how to utilize the PRs to empower youths to act accordingly both environmental practices but also without leaving no one behind and use the positive means available by EU, via GBL. All PRs will be pilot-examined at the youth throughout C1. Comments and pointers for improvement of PRs may be given through young people on C1. C2 can be a five-day getting to know activity for youth. They may be concerned in the three PRs (PR2, PR3, PR3) to pilot test the games and they may supply comments after the end of the gaining knowledge of occasion to allow improvements and adjustments of every PR. Besides the PRs and the educational events, seven multiplier occasions such as the very last multiplier event (international conference) can be applied for disseminating the venture's outputs and results. All of the undertaking is designed primarily based on the wishes of the goal institution and at the long experience of the assignment’s companions. The method with a purpose to be evolved and observed via the partners, will pay attention on the success of the venture’s effects.
