Inclusive political simulations are open for young university students AND young people facing multiple challenges and struggling to finish school. Based on the project, diversity concepts for (non) formal learning outside social and educational bubbles are created. << Implementation >>The project will implement 4 activities and follow 2 cycles targeted to youth work professionals. The 1st cycle will focus on shaping a learning framework by youth work professionals addressing diversity backgrounds of young people and getting familiar with European legislation. The 2nd cycle will work towards an inclusive simulation game. By doing so, youth work practitioners will develop an inclusive simulation game engaging young people outside their own social and educational bubbles. << Results >>We expect from this project that; youth work professionals and educators are up-skilled with new educational tools and knowledge on new learning frames crossing social and educational bubbles. With this method they gain new perspectives on European decision-making and act as multipliers in their work field. By creating inclusive and easy to access simulation games both networks learn from each other and develop their organisational diversity concepts.

The project was 23 month long and aimed to provide professional support for umbrella organisations working in the youth field. The project idea was born out of an experienced problem that we faced during our daily work as an umbrella organisation. One of the biggest challenge was the lack of active participation and motivation from our member organisations. As a solution for this experienced problem we faced we developed this project idea together with Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and the Polish Council of Youth Organisations (PROM). The main aim of the project was to develop innovative and diverse methods and techniques to motivate member organizations for active participation in order to help umbrella organisations to fulfil the aim they were established for.The objectives of the project were:- to share best practices and efficient methods umbrella organizations work with to motivate their members- to evaluate and analyse the different methods used by organizations in the youth field- to develop new methods, techniques and strategies to motivate umbrella organizations’ members for active participation- to develop the skills and competences of young leaders of the umbrella organisation in order to make them capable developing innovative ideas and implement the new methods- to create a Toolkit available for all organisations- to disseminate the findings and impact of our project as best practise- to improve knowledge about the Erasmus+ Youth Programme as a tool for improving the quality and enhancing the international dimension of youth work In order to achieve the goal of the project we implemented the following actions: Organising an international training course to improve knowledge and develop the competences of 28 youth workers. They learnt about organisational development and motivation and were introduced to tools for project management and strategic thinking. During the training course participants analysed and improved the quality of the work of the organisations, and there was space provided for them for discussions, sharing best practices and to develop their skills and competences further in order to improve their ability to transfer methods and experiential learning concepts into youth work practice. Get engaged! - Toolkit includes 8 methods we developed, analysed and evaluated during the project. The aim of this Toolkit was to introduce the methods and techniques which in the case of this consortium are considered as the best solutions to reach the aims and objectives of the project. During the National Multiplier Events, other organisations working in the country had the opportunity to hear and discuss about the Toolkit, which had been produced as an intellectual outcome of this project. At least 30 organisations were invited in each country to take part in the dissemination event. This means that altogether approximately 60 organisations working in the same structure could hear about our methods, and can also start to use them. At the International Dissemination Events, we introduced the Toolkit on the BBC+ meeting and to the participants of the General Assembly of the European Youth Forum. The aim of these events was to give deeper insight to every participant - youth councils, and other international youth organisations - into the Toolkit, the methods we were using, and how this could be helpful for everybody working with the same structure. The Get Engaged! Capacity Building Event was organised to train young participants to gain relevant skills to implement tools and methods for the development of umbrella or network organisations. With this Capacity Building event, we wanted to share the methods introduced in the Get Engaged! Toolkit with active members of umbrella organisations and create action plans on how to implement the eight tools in their own organisations. Get engaged! - Ebook includes all the activities and events we organised during the project with their results, the outcome of the training course held for capacity building and all the methods we put into practice (short summary of them). The aim of the ebook was to summarize the results and the impact of the project as well as best practices and suggestions for peers who would like to organise a project similar to this one. The project’s events (transnational meetings, training course, multiplier events) were based on an interactive and participative approach. The processes of learning from each other and learning by doing was be crucial. During the project methods of non-formal and informal education were used, such as individual, pair and group work, creative workshops, simulation and situation games, problem solving and debate exercises, interactive presentations, case studies, facilitated debates and discussions.

Based on this observation, the Enriching Communities through Engaged Mobilities (ECEM) project wants to further develop the connections between civic engagement, internationalisation and inclusion. Ensuring active citizenship and participation in society is understood as a key element in the process of making mobilities more inclusive and societies more integrated. Ensuring a sense of belonging through actively participating in society, enforces inclusive and integrated societies at European level. The ECEM project seeks to: (a) Increase the civic engagement component of mobilities in the field of internationalisation of Higher Education, contributing to making interaction with local communities the norm in mobilities (b) Ensuring recognition of learning outcomes for participants that take part in civic engagement initiatives. (c) Improve the collaboration frameworks between Higher Education Institutions and other societal actors to make mobilities contribute to societal change and common European values. The project brings together organisations representing students, Higher Education Institutions, national funding agencies and civil society parties and community organisers to create a cross-sectoral approach that improves policies and practices by creating tools to foster collaboration and improve implementation. It builds on the experiences of the project partners in the fields of inclusion and engagement, trying to consolidate advances that have been made in the last programme cycle. The project consortium will aim to influence the implementation of the current Erasmus+ programme at the different levels while paving the way for changes in the future Erasmus+ programme. It will do so through a combination of training events, research, policy materials and testing of activities on the ground.

With remarkably low turnout for young people all over Europe (28 % across the EU, with significant variations between countries), this is indeed a democratic problem. The Erasmus Voting Assessment showed that Erasmus students were much more likely than their non-mobile peers to vote in the European Parliament elections 2014. Erasmus students, both those currently abroad and returned from a study abroad, experience Europe and its many different facets in a very personal way. During their exchange they engage with a different European culture, learn about their host country but also learn to understand the cultural and political limitations of their home country and society. Therefore they are a great source of inspiration and great ambassadors to mobilising other young people to engage and take part in the European elections. In order to improve the situation, two European umbrella organisations (Erasmus Student Network and Bringing Europeans Together Associations) and four of their member organisations in Belgium, Italy, Croatia and Romania have joined forces in this project. Erasmus in Action is a 14-month project aiming to increase the interest in and feeling of ownership of European-level democratic participation for young people in Europe. The objectives of the project are: - To use Erasmus students as ambassadors to inspire non-mobile young people to be interested in European-level democratic participation; - To inspire volunteers from the partner organisations, Erasmus students and, by extension, all young people to vote in the European Parliament elections 2019; - To increase the information available for young people about European-level decision-making. The project will run from September 2018 to October 2019 and include a research report which will be presented at a conference in Brussels, two trainings with 20 young volunteers each, production of campaign material and, most important of all, a campaign during the spring of 2019, leading up to the European Parliament elections in May. During this campaign, the networks of all partner organisations will be mobilised and 50 000 young people will be reached through workshops, EU simulations and social media.
