"""Cultural heritages and ancient peoples: enhancing different Roots and build a Common European future - C.I.R.C.E."" is coordinated by the IIS M. Hack, in partnership with 5 high schools in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Turkey and Greece and focuses on cultural heritage as driver of economic growth, employment and social cohesion. C.I.R.C.E. unites the main cultures that gave birth to the European people: Romans, Greeks, Ottomans, Saxons, Vikings and Scandinavian tribes represent the protagonists who, all along the history of the continent, have more influenced in shaping the cultural, architectural humus, urban planning and the social dynamics that govern European society today.Cultural heritage is a powerful tool that contributes to build a sense of common belonging in European citizens: the focus on the populations of the past and the tangible traces that these have left on the territories has a significant identity value. The first European added value consists in the promotion of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue that are the basis of the EU integration process: deepening the stories of the European peoples to acquire skills of European citizenship, develop tolerance and acceptance of others, promote integration and multiculturalism is a key asset of the project. The second aspect addressed is the economic potential linked to the enhancement of the cultural heritage linked to the peoples of the history of Europe. Pupils will be challenged to generate ideas for cultural and creative enterprises based on what they have learned, developing skills in self-employment.Finally, the third element consists in the incorporation of innovative ICT tools for the use and enhancement of material and immaterial heritage.General purpose:- increase awareness of the importance of European cultural heritage as a vehicle for social inclusion, a driver of employment and economic growth- promote new participatory and intercultural approaches for the enjoyment and enhancement of the cultural heritage linked to the peoples who inhabited the European territory in history, also through the use of ICT- promote intercultural dialogue through the knowledge of the traditions, customs and uses of the peoples of the past and how these have left their mark in the current cultureSpecific objectives:- to deepen the intercultural, digital, entrepreneurial and transversal skills of the students, as well as develop their sense of belonging to Europe, through the creation of itineraries to experience the tangible and intangible cultural heritage linked to the peoples of the past- directly train 20 teachers of humanities/artistic subjects in the use of new technologies for the enjoyment of the cultural and immaterial heritage of their territory and the mentorship for the development of entrepreneurial/citizenship skills of studentsThe main products developed by the students directly involved will be:- 6 itineraries, built in the footsteps of the various European peoples of the past who inhabited the territories where today the partner schools are located- 6 ideas of cultural and / or tourist enterprise, created following the experience of the itineraries that took place during exchanges between students, validated with the methods of Lean Javelin and CanvasWhile the learning outcomes will be related to the acquisition, by the students involved, of transversal, intercultural and citizenship skills. These objectives will be achieved through the realization of:- two joint staff training events for 3 teachers per partner, one in Italy and one in Greece, focused on the acquisition of skills for the use of ICT tools in the humanistic and artistic disciplines and on competence-based teaching, especially citizenship skills and how these they are nurtured in various educational systems- six exchanges between pupils, with the direct involvement of 20 students between 16 and 18 - of whom 10% with fewer opportunities - and 2 accompanying teachers per partner, in blended mode with preparation and follow-up through eTwinning. Students will experiment the itinerary developed by the students of the host country and will start-up a cultural and / or tourist enterprise linked to the themes of the experimented itinerary: these start-ups will then be ""cultivated"" in a protected environment once back home and results will be exchanged through eTwinning.Furthermore, a series of local activities are planned, such as participation in the European Heritage Days.In the medium-long term, benefits will be obtained at the individual level, for pupils and teachers directly involved, for all the teachers of Arts/Humanities of the partner schools, as well as for all the students of the classes involved in the local activities. A significant impact will also be recorded at the level of the school system, for all partners, thanks to an internationalization of curricula and the qualification of educational offers."

"It is undeniable that people are different and unique. Thus, it is essential to identify these differences and try to understand each other, at all levels, as individuals, locally, nationally, internationally. It is through understanding that we are going to prevent unacceptable racist behavior and bullying. We must learn to overcome stereotype models. We must learn that being different should not arise conflict or hatred. Unfortunately, recent events in Europe prove that we victimize people. We judge people according to color, religion, wealth, factors which are far from what we should do. Being unique and different makes the world colourful. So let’s celebrate rather than fight. Let’s respect love and support each other so as to live in a world of peace and harmony. The topic is relevant in today’s international context. Rather it is crucial since we have the big rush of immigrants.Poland, Turkey, Greece, Portugal and Italy are countries which try to cope with and find solutions to the arising problems due to immigration. All five countries in this project, struggling to find a way out of the problems through applying various programmes. As previously mentioned we strongly believe that the problems of discrimination and stereotyping must be solved the sooner the better. We can see no other way of tackling the problem but teaching the younger generation that being different is natural. They must be aware of the dangers of discriminating people because of colour, religion, preferences or sex.The sooner the students are aware of that the more chances we have to change the world and build a world void of conflicts, wars, hatred.ObjectivesWe will attempt- to teach students how to respect others and avoid language or behavior which arise hatred- to raise awareness at a social level and increase tolerance for the immigrants and refugees- to combat stereotypes- to expand our knowledge on the know-how in relation to dealing with the issues of stereotyping and discrimination inside schools- to encourage students to become active members of a society where stereotypes, discrimination, and bullying do not exist-t o make the relationship between schools and local NGOs who deal with the same issues strongerParticipantsWe aim to involve as many students as possible, aged 15-18, since teenage years are critical in developing lifelong negative feelings towards other people based on stereotypical thinking and discrimination. We also aim to address teachers in our schools and other school staff and psychologists who will help to use and apply the results locally, and make them ever lasting practices.LTT activitiesWe plan to have groups of 2 teachers and 6 students:C1 - Our primary aim is to widen the project and plan how to actC2 - Stereotypes and discrimination:stereotypes based on nationalities, various forms of discrimination; the effects of discrimination such as xenophobia and homophobiaC3 - Equality based on gender and race:study the effects of common gender and racial stereotypes and try to find ways to combat themC4 - Religious equality:T ry to identify common stereotypes which relate to religious beliefsC5 - Stereotypes and discrimination in the school community:how we deal with and find solutionsMethodologyThe main areas to be covered in the project are:- Management of the project1. Plan and implement methodologies-choice of participants, communication, reporting2. Financial management3. Tracking and evaluation of activities and results4. Organisation and attendance of JS- Selection and preparation of participants- Organise participation in exchanges- Elaborate explanation of clear and definite results- Dissemination1.Creation of website, e-twinning, facebook, blog3.Design of brochures, flyers, posters, banners, articles4.Dissemination meetings5.Ellaboration of sustainability planResults and impactThe proposed results at the level of the students are: Students’ awareness of the democratic values of the EU; boost their willingness to be more active participants in local campaigns against discrimination; get to know more about other cultures; raise social awareness, tolerance, empathy for the immigrants and refugees; enhanced knowledge of the concepts of stereotypes and discrimination along with the underlying risks they cause; enriched language skills, improved skills in terms of editing data, improved critical thinking, improved team work abilities (developed in local activities and transnational exchanges).Clear and definite results-materials developed for exchanges, inventive poems and prose by students on the topic of European diversity, tape and video recorded role plays , posters on the topic of ""NO HATE in schools"", ""United as One under the European Sky"", photos of students for the competition about cultural differences ""Don't ever judge someone before you get to know them. Human interpersonal relationships based on the effective communication have always been the core of any successful activity. Nowadays young people more often turn to social media and acquaintances there than build real-life, long-lasting friendship with their peers. Relationships on the Internet are of rather shallow, random nature, hence, the idea of drawing young people's attention to the importance of the former relationships became our aim in writing this project titled 'Face to Face - How to Build Long-lasting Interpersonal Relationships Effectively in the Era of the Internet and Social Networks'. The project involves cooperation of five secondary schools (Poland, Turkey, Serbia, Italy and Romania) and the participants coming from these schools will form groups of teachers and students (aged 16-19) performing the tasks and taking part in mobilities. The language of the project will be English. The main objectives of the project are based on:- providing young people with necessary tools to build real-life relationships, - improving their interpersonal communication skills- improving their self-esteem- improving skills needed to plan, manage and evaluate the activities (creating tools, data analysis, drawing conclusions)- improving language skills by interaction with peers from other European schools- suggesting ways to organise free time actively and in a creative mannerIn order to achieve these aims, students will be provided with many workshops and meetings with professionals on the topics covering the aspects of body language; voice and gestures, tempers, character, social and cultural differences. Additionally, they will take part in many artistic and cultural activities broadening their minds on other cultures, religions, traditions and improving communication and cooperation skills. They will also produce their own pieces of art which will be presented in a form of an international exhibition. These workshops and activities will be included in the program of five visits to the schools and the inter-mobility tasks as Erasmus+ project will be supported by an eTwinning project of the same title, where all the materials such as photos, films, survey results, workshop plans are uploaded. ETwinning platform will be also used to meet the partners during online meetings between the mobilities, supporting the relationship, sharing opinions, exchanging experiences. The expected results will be reflected in the improvement of the key competencies such as socialization, foreign language development; also boosting students' self-esteem as well as language, time-management, communicative skills development, and finally introducing aspects of critical thinking. The project will have the impact not only on participants, changing their views, attitudes and lifestyle into more interpersonal-oriented, improving the quality of their relationships but also parents, teachers, school institutions by implementing the aspects of workshops/seminars/presentations into their general framewok and local community through the volountary work; promoting the project through an intended website (or blog); on the international Erasmus+ forums, eTwinning platform and in the local media, press, forums.

The project lasted for two years and was attended by 6 partner countries. There were five LTT activities in two years, and work that was done outside of these meetings. Unfortunately, due to the global coronavirus pandemic situation, on agreement with the partners, the last meeting was held online. Nevertheless, all project goals and outputs were met.The project focused primarily on supporting high school students aged 15-18, reducing their ESL (early school leaving) rate, increasing competencies that would accompany them throughout their studies and working life and also introduce them to the issue of motivation, working in an international team, effective communication, expression of opinions and attitudes, and multilingualism. Pupils also met and worked on concepts such as racism, gender issues and discrimination during the project. The pupils learned to present their work confidently. They learned to understand individual cultures from their historical roots until now. They also learned to analyse a given problem, evaluate it correctly and find the most appropriate solution. They learned all this mainly thanks to the carrying out tasks (presentations, videos, surveys, etc.), which were based on the project and which they had to introduce and present at each meeting. The project also supported teachers and other staff at the school. Especially in further education, learning about new, different cultures and encouraging cooperation at the international level. The project will have long-term benefits for pupils, their parents, and teachers, as well as for other participants - cities, municipal leaders, neighbouring schools, local media, and the public. In each of them, it left an awareness of the project implementation at the international level and was an example of good practice for potential new participants in the Erasmus+ project.

ARCH (Artistic & Religious Culture & Heritage) project aims at enhancing the Religious Heritage (RH) and its impact on society at local/national/European level. Religious buildings, together with their contents and all the architects, artists and musicians, festivals and other markers of cultural heritage are important for how people publicly define themselves, and identify with a group or a tradition. Acknowledging them therefore helps people to be themselves. On the other hand, good educational practice will always be that which moves beyond the binaries and boundaries of stereotypical, fixed identities. In the constantly changing religious makeup of European societies, religious diversity is one of the gifts of the EU. Since the fear of the other causes barriers between religions/nations and leads to divisions and fall of civilizations we must call for the gift of reconciliation. When this openness is achieved, schools become places where not only any individual may be who they are, but where diverse communities are brought together to flourish.Six schools take part in this project. The Greek SHS of Thesprotiko Vasileios Zormpas, the Italian IIS Margherita Hack, the Turkish Sehit Halil Ibrahim Yıldırım Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, the Czech Gymnazium Aloise Jiraska, the French Org. de gestion du lycée privé Bahuet and the Hungarian Közgazdasági Politechnikum.During the project there will be activities that will discover the RH of Europe from different points of view. Participants will spot local/regional religious buildings and monuments. Also, activities will be held about religious art and traditions/festivals of each religion. Last, we will examine issues related to religion and society to promote the humanitarian aspect of the project. The methodology applied throughout the project will involve both formal and non-formal/informal and experiential learning. Educational visits to sites of great religious interest combined with seminars and workshops will activate students’ interest and raise their awareness on religious heritage. The results of the project have to do with the engagement of participants and interested parties in raising awareness, protecting and promoting RH so as to bring sustainable development of a local/national level. Additionally the inspiring of the young generation, the exchange of good practices, the dialogue between religious communities, cognitive skills and the openness of school to different religious traditions are expected results. The impact of the project involves the participant schools, the local population and other relevant stakeholders and organizations. All together will work in order to save RH and harness its power to drive socio-economic development in European cities. Finally, we expect it to be a journey of generations, for our historic resentments and hatreds. It is not agreement on all things, for that is impossible, but the acceptance of diversity, even disagreement and yet love in all things.
