  • VertNet uses the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) to host published biodiversity data on the VertNet IPT for its participating institutions. The IPT is a free, open source web application designed to publish primary occurrence data, species checklists and taxonomies, and associated dataset metadata available for use on the Internet. Data are published as web-based Darwin Core Archives (simple ZIP files that contain tab-delimited or comma-separated text files organized using the Darwin Core Standard).

  • Drug Mechanism Database (DrugMechDB) compiles curated mechanism of action linking a drug to a disease. Most drug mechanisms are described simply as a protein target, or a pathway, that then treats the disease. However, there are usually more steps across a biological knowledge graph required to traverse from the target through its mechanism to the reduction of a disease. DrugMechDB catalog a subset of known drug-disease indications as a path through a network of biomedical entities.

  • PiroplasmaDB is one of the databases that can be accessed through the VEuPathDB portal. While each of these groups is supported by a taxon-specific database built upon the same infrastructure, the VEuPathDB portal offers an entry point to all these resources, and the opportunity to leverage orthology for searches across genera.

  • The Common Fund’s Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research Program (Kids First) has developed the Kids First Data Resource, a large-scale data resource to help researchers uncover new insights into the biology of childhood cancer and structural birth defects. It provides clinically annotated genomic data and is integrated with several tools to accelerate pediatric disease research. The Kids First Data Resource Portal allows users to query, or search, Kids First datasets, build virtual cohorts, or collections, of individual participants, and identify datasets for analysis. CAVATICA, built by Seven Bridges Genomics, allows users to run bioinformatics workflows in a cloud-based environment.
