The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, an “Advanced Research and Education” awarded university (by Order of the Ministry of National Education no 5262/September 5th, 2011), is today a tertiary education institution having a long-standing tradition as well as national and international recognition. The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca comprises twelve faculties in the two academic centres, Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare, and programme locations in Alba-Iulia, Bistrita, Satu Mare and Zalau. The educational offer, aligned to the Bologna system, includes bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral programs, as well as life-long learning programs. These cover a wide range of domains, from engineering, architecture, fundamental sciences, to social sciences, humanities and arts. In addition to these, the Department for Continuing Education, Distance Learning and Reduced Frequency Learning organizes and conducts life-long learning activities and programs, postgraduate courses, continuous professional development programs and courses, or custom-tailored courses based on occupational standards. With a strong belief in the value of international exchanges, The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has currently over 400 inter-university collaboration agreements and has carried out a large number of student mobilities. Opening up towards the European and global education and research, a steady process of internationalization is one of the major objectives of the university. Alongside quality education, research is a main priority in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. There are numerous research structures, from groups and laboratories to research centers and platforms, in all faculties of the university. Open research directions are oriented towards global priorities and perspectives: from the Information and communications technology to Renewable Energy and Ecology; from superconductivity, spintronics and nanomaterials, to management and robotics; from mechatronics and electrical engineering to the automobile and the home of the future, or to urbanism and society.

Digital Commons Data at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (DCD-UBB) is an institutional data repository for faculty, staff, and students, hosting datasets supporting research and publishing activities. Registration with the repository is available with UBB institutional credentials, and the dataset submission process is moderated by UBB data curators. Users do not need to register in order to access hosted datasets, but embargo settings by authors might prevent full access to all content. ECOLIB INSTITUTIONAL REPOSITORY is the institutional repository of National Research and Development Institute for Industrial Ecology ECOIND. ECOLIB ensures preservation and management of documents and provides access to articles of the ECOIND researchers published in national and international journals (full-paper/abstract), doctoral theses (abstract), conference and workshop papers, short description of the projects developed from 2006 till present, Proceedings of the International Symposium - Environment and Industry. The digital documents submitted in ECOLIB are indexed in Google Scholar.

The INFRA-ART Spectral Library is a FAIR data service designed as a digital support tool for heritage research specialists working with spectroscopic techniques. With over 2,000 curated spectra, the database allows users to analyze and compare the spectral signatures of a wide range of reference materials, facilitating the identification of 'unknown' samples. The INFRA-ART Spectral Library has been designed, implemented, and optimized over several years, and it currently integrates ATR-FTIR, XRF, Raman, and SWIR reflectance spectra on over 1000 different materials typically found in works of art.

Climate4Impact is a portal for climate model data. It aims to support climate change impact modelers, impact and adaptation consultants, as well anyone else wanting to use climate change data. Climate4Impact offers access to data and visualizations of global climate models (GCM), regional climate models (RCM) and downscaled high resolution climate data. It provides data transformation tooling like indices calculations, downscaling, subsetting and regridding for tailoring data to your needs. Climate4impact is the result of a collaborative effort within the European FP-7 project Infrastructure for the European Network for Earth System Modelling (IS-ENES, IS-ENES2 , IS-ENES3)
