Natural products, also known as specialized or secondary metabolites, are small molecules produced by many organisms. These chemical compounds often show strong biological activities, making them interesting for medicine, agriculture, and other fields. Their biosynthesis is governed by a set of enzymes, which can be separated into gatekeeper/core enzymes, and tailoring enzymes. The latter modify the nascent natural products, giving them their final form, and often confer their biological activity. Tailoring enzymes show a wide range of substrate- and reaction-specificities. The Minimum Information about a Tailoring Enzyme (MITE) data standard was created to facilitate consistent and systematic deposition and retrieval of data on tailoring enzymes. Each MITE entry contains information on a single enzyme: its reaction(s), substrate specificities, known substrate-product pairs, and additional metadata. This record describes the data repository accompanying the data standard.

TreeBASE is a repository of phylogenetic information, specifically user-submitted phylogenetic trees and the data used to generate them. TreeBASE accepts all types of phylogenetic data (e.g., trees of species, trees of populations, trees of genes) representing all biotic taxa. TreeBASE is temporarily offline except to provide access to editors/curators, as security updates are required before re-publishing the site.

DiSSCover is a platform for curating and annotating digital specimens, which serve as digital surrogates for physical specimens. It provides access to all specimen-related data, including metadata (where, when, by whom), digital media and derived or related data like sequence data, chemical composition and sampled environment. Users, including researchers, taxonomic experts and citizen scientists, can annotate and enrich specimen data to support science, with future integration of approved annotations pending a community review process. The annotations are stored as FAIR Digital Objects (with a persistent identifier).
