  • The PR2 reference sequence database began as part of the BioMarks project from previous work in the Plankton Group of the Station Biologique of Roscoff. It aims to provide a reference database of carefully annotated 18S rRNA sequences using nine unique taxonomic fields (from domain to species). At present, it contains over 240,000 sequences. Although it focuses on protists, it also contains sequences from metazoa, fungi and plants as well a limited set of 16S sequences from plastids and bacteria. Several metadata fields are available for many sequences, including geo-localisation, whether it originates from a culture or a natural sample, and host type. The annotation of PR2 is performed by experts in each of the taxonomic groups.

  • The Bacterial Diversity Metadatabase BacDive is the worldwide largest database for standardized bacterial phenotypic information. Its mission is to mobilize research data on strain level from internal files in culture collections (e.g. CABI, CIP, CCUG, DSMZ) as well as from primary literature and make it freely accessible. Today BacDive offers data on 93,254 bacterial and archaeal strains, including 19,313 type strains and thereby covers approx. 90% of the validly described species. Within over 600 data fields the topics taxonomy, morphology, physiology, origin, molecular data, and cultivation conditions are covered. The database offers systematic access to phenotypic data. BacDive thereby enables queries like "show me all strains that grow under certain conditions” by using the Advanced search or queries like “show me all strains isolated from a marine environment” by using the Isolation source search. With currently 15,357 API® tests for 27,634 strains, BacDive also offers the worldwide largest API® test collection, which can be queried using the API test finder tool.

  • Natural Antisense Transcripts (NATs), a kind of regulatory RNAs, occur prevalently in plant genomes and play significant roles in physiological and/or pathological processes. PlantNATsDB (Plant Natural Antisense Transcripts DataBase) is a platform for annotating and discovering NATs by integrating various data sources. PlantNATsDB also provides an integrative, interactive and information-rich web graphical interface to display multidimensional data, and facilitate plant research community and the discovery of functional NATs.

The material includes pre-20th century books and documents of historical value and documents pertaining to the the history of the University which was founded in 1972.
