  • The Biodiversity Literature Repository (BLR) is a research infrastructure (RI) comprising the BLR Community on Zenodo at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN), and services to search and retrieve the data (Ocellus, Zenodeo API, BLR website). BLR’s focus is on biodiversity data liberated from scholarly publications, and it uses custom metadata linking to external vocabularies covering the needs of the biodiversity community. This includes taxonomic treatment or figures as well as the deposit of the original article annotated with metadata describing the data contained in the articles itself, as well as related identifiers for figures and and treatments therein. The main data import is through TreatmentBank or via publishers such as Pensoft. With over 650,000 deposits, BLR is the single largest community in Zenodo. Its data is widely reused, for example by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). All data in BLR is published under the CC0 Public Domain Dedication, remaining free for anyone to use, anywhere, for any purpose.

  • DNAmod is an open-source database (https://dnamod.hoffmanlab.org) that catalogues DNA modifications and provides a single source to learn about their properties. The database annotates the chemical properties and structures of all curated modified DNA bases, and a much larger list of candidate chemical entities. DNAmod includes manual annotations of available sequencing methods, descriptions of their occurrence in nature, and provides existing and suggested nomenclature. DNAmod enables researchers to rapidly review previous work, select mapping techniques, and track recent developments concerning modified bases of interest.

  • The clinical research Data Sharing Repository is capable of holding any type of digital object -data sets, documents, media file etc- in a secure research environment (TRE). The repository collects the metadata necessary for the Findability of the objects, promoting data sharing in clinical research.

  • The PR2 reference sequence database began as part of the BioMarks project from previous work in the Plankton Group of the Station Biologique of Roscoff. It aims to provide a reference database of carefully annotated 18S rRNA sequences using nine unique taxonomic fields (from domain to species). At present, it contains over 240,000 sequences. Although it focuses on protists, it also contains sequences from metazoa, fungi and plants as well a limited set of 16S sequences from plastids and bacteria. Several metadata fields are available for many sequences, including geo-localisation, whether it originates from a culture or a natural sample, and host type. The annotation of PR2 is performed by experts in each of the taxonomic groups.
