TransCoDe - European Master on Transnational Community Development

Description

A strong, peaceful and resilient Europe depends on shared common values and on strong communities. In a globalized, interconnected and ever-changing world, those communities emerge across national boundaries and are heterogenous in their composition. As an interlinked system, they are constantly facing economic, health-related, environmental and social challenges that require multiprofessional and solid responses. This application for TransCoDe aims to design a Joint Master Programme “Transnational Community Development” that follows an interdisciplinary approach and enables its graduates to recognize the distinctiveness and the specific needs of transnational communities. Graduates will acquire competencies to address community building challenges in transnational settings, to act responsibly, to design interventions in creating social responses to such systemic challenges, and to find effective and problem-solving approaches for strong and sustainable transnational communities. In developing the Joint Master Programme with TransCoDe, the consortium of five HEI (FHWS - Germany, Diak - Finland, VID - Norway, UniTBv - Romania and GJU - Jordan) will pursue the following objectives:•Objective 1: Creation of a Competence Profile of the future graduates which includes adequate methods for the assessment of the competencies•Objective 2: Development of the Didactical Outline•Objective 3: Development of the Administrative Framework•Objective 4: Creation of an Evaluation and Quality Monitoring Process incl. Accreditation•Objective 5: Creation of a Promotion StrategyThe design process will comprise two phases and will be implemented according to the agreed division of roles, re-sponsibilities and competence areas of the partner HEI: migration, intercultural relations, sustainable development, marginalized groups. TransCoDe will contribute to the attractiveness of the EHEA and is a chance to strengthen un-derrepresented disciplines and institutions.
