    As part of H2020 program, Clean Sky 2 aims at pushing forward the whole EU aeronautical sector to a worldwide prominent place as well as addressing ambitious targets in reduction of pollution and fuel consumption. Within the “Sustainable and Green Engine” Integrated Technology Demonstrator, WP 2 “Ultra High Propulsive Efficiency demonstrator for Short Medium Range Aircraft” aims to bring to market a new engine generation with large bypass ratios. The present call JTI-CS2-2018-CfP09-ENG-01-41 concerns the inherent problem of vortex ground ingestion into the fan during ground operating conditions with cross-wind. Its objective is to obtain a method able to predict the vortex properties based on degraded WTT instrumentation. The consortium proposes the project named InVIGO for Intake Vortex Ingestion in Ground Operation. Two partners are involved: ALTRAN, European leader on innovation and high-tech engineering consulting, as project coordinator, and in charge of CFD activities, the prediction method and the project coordination and CSTB, Scientific and Technical Center for Building specialized in experimental campaigns for buildings, structures, industrial equipment and vehicles, to perform the wind tunnel tests. This project is composed of three main activities: the first one is dedicated to the generation of a comprehensive database on vortex characteristics from WTT measurements and CFD simulations, the second one to the method development itself and its industrialization and the last one on management and scientific dissemination. The key strengths of our proposal are notably the following ones: • New approach with artificial intelligence applied to flow characterization of fan inlet • WTT campaigns on the whole ground vortex formation conditions • Strong expertise on CFD and numerical method development • Strong relationship between experimental and numerical simulation teams

    EeB-CA2 initiative is to provide the right set of instruments supporting technology-clustering and geo-clustering upon the whole set of EeB PPP EC-funded projects related to energy efficiency in the built environment, with the following primary ambition: to enhance and rationalise coordinated and broader dissemination, technology transfer and future exploitation activities of clustered projects, so as to help them better promoting and marketing their achievements and deliverables.

    With the involvement of a comprehensive stakeholders community (including industrials and SMEs from the construction sector, energy utilities, capital providers, municipalities, building owners, tenants, research institutes), STUNNING will accelerate the adoption and large scale replication of new business models delivering adaptable and affordable refurbishment solutions (incl. decentralised RES generation), in order to meet the building renovation rate set by the upgraded EPBD. Under the coordination of TECHNOFI, five players (CSTB, D’Appolonia, Solintel and Steinbeis 2i GmbH, all key active members within the ECTP) propose a systemic and integrated approach to address the market roll-out of innovative refurbishment packages, supported by an Advisory Board covering the whole refurbishment value chain. The five project objectives are aligned with all the EEB-08-2017 call challenges: - Supporting the cooperation of diverse, yet dispersed, stakeholders federated in a single stakeholder community built around a web-based knowledge sharing platform addressing technologies and business models for refurbishment in EU27; - Benchmarking and (geo)clustering innovative refurbishment packages and ranking them according to profitability/energy efficiency indicators; - Identifying and addressing barriers which still prevent these refurbishment packages from being replicated by value chain players; - Promoting and validating (through 10 real business cases) novel renovation business models allowing consumers and the market to invest with confidence, thanks to performance-guaranteed energy savings, and addressing end user’s commitment to energy efficiency after renovation; - Disseminating the support action outputs, with an exploitation strategy for the newly built knowledge sharing platform, thus continuing to interact with the stakeholders’ community beyond the completion of the STUNNING project and contributing to maximising its impact and more globally the EEB PPP.
